Place was a little dirty but because I went in at 5 pm so it was bound to be! Waiting area it's nice. Has beautiful sea painting a tv and some toy machines and toys for toddlers! I loved it. Wow! What a morning. We had an appointment with Jennifer today. She opened her own place and was moving next week. She had given her proper notice. Well, I arrive this morning with my kid for his haircut at family cutz and they told me Jennifer was let go and they can cut his hair. What!! Thankfully Jennifer got word her new business was ready and it did not affect her. But it did inconvenience us. After my kids haircut I called and let them know this. The father(owner) of the person I spoke to decides to call me back and tell me that they were stealing from them. Stealing what? Don't hair stylist use all their own products etc? Clients? Also hers not yours. And why was she let go AFTER she put in her notice. Don't call me back like I'm your friend and lie to me. VERY SHADY and unprofessional. I have taken my son to get haircuts here and never had a problem until today. I booked an appointment for my son at 5 and when I arrived the lady told me his appointment was at 430. She said I was 10 minutes late and can't see my son because it's too late. I checked my email and they changed my appointment for 430 without telling me. I've taken my son to get his hair cut here two times prior. I really like that the wait time isn't too long--less than 10 minutes, and that they accept walk-ins. The staff is very nice and friendly. They also have a play area that my son loved. The first two times, my son's haircut turned out great. This time around, I had a picture on my phone to reference. My son had long hair, and I wanted to keep it long and to just trim it. My son had fallen asleep in the car, so he was cranky when we got there. Vero was great at accommodating the fact that my son didn't want to sit by himself or want to put a drape on. Vero asked if I had a picture of what I wanted. I showed her on my phone and said I wanted to keep it long. She started to cut, and then stopped and asked if it was okay. I said yes, and reiterated that I wanted it to still be long. She continued to cut more. She stopped and asked, again, if it was okay. I said yes. And she started to cut again. By the time she stopped again, his hair was already shorter than what I wanted, and cut shorter in places that would make it look funny if it were to be left like that. I don't know if it was miscommunication, but it was not what I wanted. At this point, I just accepted the fact that his hair will grow back. She was great at cleaning the hair off my son since he refused to wear the drape, and she was very nice to him. This place is great since it also caters to toddlers. Obviously he hates getting a hair cut but the team here is amazing with all the kids, i personally love how Vero cuts my sons hair, i call and make an appointment with her via text or call They just remodeled so now the kids waiting area is even bigger, my son always runs back in there after his hair cut. we pay around $20 flat and that includes tip. However, I purchased the first haircut package that comes with his hair, photos and a certificate and they told me they would mail it to me. It's now been almost a month and I still have not received the certificate in the mail. I've called, been to the store and they have given me excuses and finally said they were mailing it to me a week ago and I STILL have not received it. I'm upset as this was a special moment for my family and I paid for the first haircut package expecting them to treat it special. My first time here.. glad I came. I don't have an appointment but after calling, the receptionist said I could put my name on the wait list as I was driving in. Super accommodating. When we got there we didn't have to wait long, maybe 7 minutes. Nancy did my daughters hair. She asked what I wanted and I simply told her I wanted 1/4 inch trim. I'm growing the baby's hair to donate to Locks Of Love. Nancy did EXACTLY as I asked. She was fast, didn't try to up sell me, and was very sweet. I didn't have a chance to leave a review but in looking for another place for their next haircut, I wanted to share our experience. Strike one - we made an appointment 10 days before and there was no record of appointment when we arrived. The place was not busy and only one other child was seated getting a haircut so a lot of the stations were open with three staff members hanging out. Strike two - When they finally called us, they brought our son to a back station with a booster chair stacked on top of a regular chair. Three other stations with the fun, car seats were empty. I asked why our son couldn't sit at one of the stations. They reluctantly moved us. Strike three - We are a family of two moms who want to see our sons haircut while holding the other twin. While we were standing there, the employee told us that they can't have a crowd and only the mom could stand and watch. I told them it's a family of two moms and they look annoyed but didn't say anything else. Mind you, it's their first haircut and we want to take a few pics and video and the rest of the salon has only one other customer. I wish I had written the names of the employees. Their haircuts turned out ok but because of the unwelcoming environment, we now go to Cool Cuts 4 Kids. It's further from where we live but it's a much more friendly atmosphere. read more

We always bring our kids here. We love the fact that it's kids friendly and that they do our kids hair very well. They have patience with crying kids (sweet baby Jesus bless their souls for it) and just won't sit still while having their haircut. In response to another review previously left. I am the mom. I called on Sunday to let them know I did not like my sons haircut he received on Thursday December 13,2018. Yes I did approve of the haircut on Thursday, but I believe the stylist styled it in a way that hid the huge gap in his hair. I specifically said I keep the top long as possible and fade the sides never did I mention to cut the middle or have it styled a certain way my exact words were the top long as possible and a high fade on the sides. Finally when we got home other people not just myself had noticed a huge gap in his hair and the choppy mess on the top and so when I called on Sunday yes I did agree to fix it but even if it were fixed to cut shorter I would have never been satisfied with the top shorter because that wasn't what I asked for in the first place. And I even left a tip which isn't mandatory but I still did it out of generosity. To say an appointment was left for me is far fetched because while I did agree to come on Monday morning (which this place isn't busy on Monday mornings let's all be honest)around 12 or 1 the person on the phone never said the word "appointment" To be honest the least the owner could have done is given me 50% off my next service here for the inconvenience. But she did not. And to say she saw my sons hair. She did not see my sons hair he was in the kids play room with his hoodie on I showed her the pictures but she did not see it in person and I even asked her if she wanted to see it in person because he was there with me. She was mute. Let's let the pictures of his hair speak for themselves. It's safe to say they lost a customer, because although I was not satisfied with the cut this time doesn't mean they couldn't have made it up in other ways instead of just the one option of offering to fix it. read more

Came back here with the kid this weekend. We called in the afternoon to see if they had any more appointments available for that day, but they said they were all booked. But, walk-ins were still welcome. The lady said there was nobody in line, so we rounded up the little one, and headed over. When we got there, there were 4 people in line ahead of us (all showed up after we had called), no big deal! We just walked over to Starbucks next door, got some drinks and walked back once we had a coffee refill. Wait time was surprisingly fast considering there were 4 in front of us. We got in, and the kiddo got a great hair cut again! Always do such a good job with him, and he no longer cries when he comes, because he likes the cars and TVs.
