I often come here over lunch or at the end of my work day. I work locally in Beatrice, but I commute to Lincoln. I typically stop in for their salads and veggie trays for lunches on days I forgot to pack. This lets me eat healthy and on the cheap. I like how they changed the store to feature these items directly as you enter the grocery store. This saves me time and gives me ample selection. Second, I do this for coming in after work to save my family time on last-minute items or the quirky thing or two we might need. This usually doesn't cause trouble as the place isn't crowded compared to Lincoln's Walmarts. My only drawback is the checkout system. This is more Walmart-wide than this story in particular. Often, machines do not work, or when using the app to scan and checkout via mobile, the software doesn't seem to work with the checkout stands. The staff are very nice and helpful though.

Our delivery instructions to are clear in the Walmart app: "Delivery drivers MUST BE conversational…read morein English and MUST park in the driveway. Please ring the doorbell if delivering without handoff." We need to interact with delivery drivers that are at least conversational in English. There is a reason for that need. We are low-sighted individuals that cannot read from others' phones that aren't accessible by low-sighted readers, including translation apps on those phones. (By the way, I've found no way to indicate that we have a vision disability on the Walmart app.) We've dealt with poor accommodation of our need from this store for a couple of years, but today's delivery pushed us over the limit. Today's order initially included an alcohol product that wasn't available, which was fine with us. The order was converted to a non-alcohol order, meaning we didn't need to meet a driver. Upon delivery, the driver rang our bell as instructed in our delivery instructions for no-handoff delivery. I went out to collect our order but found the driver standing in our driveway, asking me questions in broken English. We couldn't understand one another, so she pulled out her phone and expected me to read text on her translator app, which I couldn't. We struggled to communicate, but I eventually learned that she needed a code. Why is a code for a no-hand-off delivery? I called the Walmart Supercenter in Beatrice right after today's delivery and was told that our account delivery instructions aren't transmitted to its third-party delivery provider (i.e., Spark). Why is that Walmart?!? Why did I even bother with expressing our delivery needs in the Walmart app if Walmart can't find the time to transmit that information to its third-party delivery provider? WALMART, DO DISABLED INDIVIDUALS NEED TO EXPLICITLY STATE WE HAVE A DISABILITY IN ODER TO RECEIVE DELIVERY SERVICES AS STATED IN OUR WALMART ACCOUNT?
