Best fudge and salt water taffy on the island. Wouldn't buy from anywhere else. A must stop every time we visit.

Stringy samples, clerk not welcoming at all. Just left and did not try a thing. Early in season other locations closed on a Saturday.

This is one of the other three or is fudge shops on the island. It's also the most marketed off the island as well. I have bought budge from here for my mother and FIL in the past, but definitely prefer the fudge flavors of their competitor. Wow! Never, ever, EVER again!! Called to inform them that I didn't receive my order and was told that they gave it to the shipping company and now it was my problem. They suggested that I contact the shipper that THEY chose and see if there was anything that could be done. Not - very - helpful. I'll get my fudge elsewhere. read more

Ryba's is hands down the best fudge shop on Mackinac Island, which in turn means it's one of the best fudge shops ANYWHERE! Not only does it have the most fudge shops out of any other spot on Main Street (it tickles me PINK to know that there are literally at least 5 shops on this one, small stretch of road?!), but it really supports this sheer volume of shops with BUSINESS! Every single one we pass by will have a line at least to the door consistently throughout the day and that's a beautiful sight to behold! Every single time I've come to Mackinac Island, I've gone fudge hopping, as one naturally does as it's part of the island experience! You go about to different fudge shops and watch them make the fudge live in front of your eyes and are treated to both this wonderous sight AND to free samples of freshly made fudge! And every time I do this thinking maybe I'll feel differently this time, all signs yet again point to Ryba's being the best fudge in the business!!! They are consistently above the rest and you will never be disappointed with anything you get here! For me, I don't have a huge sweet tooth, so getting one slice of fudge (or two at the most to try the different flavors) will have me tapped! Occasionally I'll pick up a salted caramel or two as well, but Ryba's has SO much to offer outside of fudge as well and all of it looks delicious! I definitely also get the dog treats that they make here and my dogs LOVE THEM and if I was a bigger popcorn fan, I'd definitely get the popcorn as well. cute little shop (not like there's not a million others on the island) but the ice cream was great and so was the fudge regular. we got mackinaw fudge ice cream regular, and also the peanut butter version and strawberry, all great! very rich and dense with good flavors, pretty heavy scoops, had to share my one scoop with my dad haha. fudge was taken to go and so good ate half of it in one go, dangerously good! dining room was nice, a little crowded but that just shows how good it was, a little chilly but hopefully that just meant it was perfect for the workers, overall great experience, great service, great flavor! read more

Every time I go to Mackinaw Island I stop here! Their caramels are the best! This time, we also got a slice of German Chocolate Fudge, which is also so good. The prices seem fair for the location and amount of product received. The entrance to the store is tucked back a few feet off the main strip, so don't miss it! On Mackinac Island, you will honestly be overwhelmed with the numerous options of fudge shops! However, for me and my family, this one was a no-brainer. We love fruit- or unique-flavored, sweets, and Ryba had the most options for that! We bought macademia chocolate fudge, pistachio fudge, and strawberry fudge. All were amazing and a wonderful treat for my visiting family members. Ryba also had a fairly decently cheaper deal than a few stores we perused around before arriving to Ryba. Fudge is very good and the place is cute inside, the problem we have was with the older woman working behind the counter. She walked away while we were picking our fudge out and told the sweet younger employee that she can deal with us. She was unpleasant, my mother was being kind and making jokes and all that she got back was a glare from the woman. Calling all caramel corn lovers. I've been trying a lot of brands and buying shop-made caramel corn in tourist towns up and down the East coast. Victor's Original Recipe caramel corn is my favorite!! Stopped in and picked up Oreo fudge and a bag of taffy. The fudge was good but taffy is so gooey and sticky it's almost inedible, sticks to the wrapper and fingers. Pretty disappointed since we opened the bag after we left the island or would have brought it back. Try another shop for taffy, some others let you pick your own individual flavors, that would have been desirable. read more

I got recommended this place by one of the locals working at a goods shop. I generally don't like fudge, it is just too rich for me and I don't understand all the craze but I wanted to get my sugar tooth filled while here on the island. I tried a little turtle with caramel chocolate and it was good, nothing special. But then I came back as we were leaving and got the Mackinac Island fudge ice cream and boy was it awesome! To all you non-fudge lovers out there this is the secret to happiness. There's a little bit of actual fudge in ice cream but not too much where it's overpowering it's just the perfect amount and their ice cream isn't just plain vanilla it has some good flavor I couldn't really tell you what it is, but it's great. The interior of all the Ryba shops are pretty cool with the old-school 50s feel and the employees were really nice so I enjoyed the experience. I think you will be happy if you grab a little treat here just based on what you are looking for. When in doubt get the Mackinac Island fudge ice cream! read more

Ryba's is famous for the fudge but was not able to buy all the flavors of their fudges. Wish I did if only I wasn't counting all the calories I can get from eating a bar of their richly good fudge. We tasted their ice cream...at least 3 scoops! Did not mind waiting in line. The flavored ice cream was creamy and sweet! The price of their fudge is almost the same as the rest of the fudge shops spotted all over the island. If you plan on buying water or other drinks, it might be a dollar cheaper next door. Excellent fudge! There are about a dozen or more options for fudge on the Island so figuring out where to get your fudge is a bit overwhelming. I suggest thinking pink! Ryba's has been around for years and years and are doing it right. The pink welcomes you when you walk into the store. The workers were all friendly and helpful. My husband went with a classic chocolate fudge, no.fuss. I went fussy and got the turtle fudge. The were unable to do half and half fudge to do a whole fudge because of my turtle fudge, but oh well, more for me! Eating the fudge out of box with the plastic knife is the best way to do it. Great experience and fudge was great - Ryba's is our go to fudge fix. They also have other sweet treats but we usually just go for the fudge. read more

Just bought 2 moose tracks, vanilla, and cookies and cream ice creams. In addition, I bought one slice of oreo fudge and a bag of taffy. The ice creams tasted like freezer burn...sitting in the freezer too long. The fudge was dried out, and not creamy. The taffy was the only good purchase- fresh! Ryba's is one of a number of places to get fudge on the island, but it's one of the better ones, centrally located to the ferries and main street shopping area. I like their fudge. They have a large variety and most of it is pretty damn good. The prices and overall fudge quality are about the same as the other shops, so service and variety are integral in distinguishing them when it comes to the other fudge retailers in town. They always give out generous free samples and the variety is very good. Ryba's will even ship their fudge treats to customers out of town, too, I believe. I like the Maple fudge the best, but any of it will do. It merely depends on flavor preferences. I think they've even gotten involved in making vegetarian-friendly versions of traditional recipes, including a couple for people with GF and other allergies. Watching them make fudge is always a pleasure and they're usually at it. It's not too hard to catch them whipping up new treats. Other than fudge, they sell novelties and touristy souvenirs, plus excellent ice cream, peanut brittle and candy. read more

Any place that combines this cute pink decor and delicious fudge has got my vote. Even though it was a busy day on Mackinac Island, we were greeting and personally waited on by a friendly employee. She seemed to be familiar with indecisive guests because she was able to gauge our preferences, give us samples, and most of all be patient with us, thank you! In the end I picked out the peanut butter and chocolate fudge, which was very true to its name. The peanut butter was swirled in, not completely combined which was nice! Then I picked the chocolate mint which is a flavor I usually shirk from. Ryba, ya did it. You turned me into a chocolate mint lover. It was subtle and well balanced. I didn't get a chance to try the ice cream, something that I'm regretting now that I am all the way back in California. read more
