I saw Dr. Zeller about 10 years ago to get a medical marijuana recommendation. I then continued to see him for general medical care. I had an episode where I was in and out of consciousness for 3 days, vomiting and diarrhea. I went to him for a referral to get testing for Addison's disease as this has been a recurring problem for decades. I've had multiple symptoms of Addison's disease since I was a child. He literally belly-laughed, guffawed, at the very idea. He was so loud he could be heard all the way out to the waiting room. He refused to give me a referral for testing. Thereafter his receptionist was consistently rude to me - I don't know if that was based on what she heard out in the waiting room or if there was further discussion about my craziness after I left. I ran out of thyroid meds a while later, and he was out of town and the receptionist refused to ask his stand-in to give me a scrip to tide me over until he got back. This resulted in me running out of my thyroid meds, which eventually resulted in yet another Addisonian crisis (low thyroid pulls cortisol low and eventually triggered a full-on crisis for the untreated Addison's disease). I lost 35 lbs in 13 days this time. My son had to come from Texas to Reno to get me, I was that sick. Had to sell my house, pack up, and move. He was shocked when he saw me. I was in very very bad condition. So I FINALLY was tested for Addison's disease (it took another year after my son took me back to Texas to even get scheduled for testing) and guess what ... I HAVE ADDISON'S DISEASE. Of course had I realized he was a DO and not an MD I never would have gone to see him for anything besides the medical marijuana paperwork. However I have to admit, none of the MDs I have had interactions with on this issue over the past 50 years were willing to test me for it either. In fact the doctor who finally scheduled me in with an endo only did it because she was determined that I was a head case and I would finally get my come-uppance. When I saw her after the testing and told her the results, she was actually DISAPPOINTED that I really did have Addison's disease. Needless to say I dropped her. But of all the doctors who dismissed my concerns re Addison's disease, he was the worst, the most dismissive, and the rudest. He was also equally as wrong. read more

I came to this clinic for 4 years because my GP the wonderful Dr. Donald Farrimond referred me here. They do not take insurance but I was fine with that. When I arrived for my appointment @ 1:15 for a 1:30 appointment. I was ushered into this back room from a new girl working who did the usual weight, blood pressure and temperature check. I usually don't mind when a dr. Is a bit late WHEN he is seeing other patients but after a 45 minute wait I was gone! I was so angry! Dr. Zeller used to be very timely and compassionate. But the last time I saw him back in October he was grouchy because he was fighting with his spouse! I mean leave your stuff at the door dude. Today was the last straw when he was just yukking it up with his employees instead of seeing me... Done and Done. Time is Money! Nothing I mean nothing makes his time more important than mine. I went to this facility over twelve years ago. They prescribed me Vicodin then Norco and then OxyContin 60 unnecessarily. Now I've been on buprenorphine for over 5 years. I'm at home now unable to do anything and in such uncomfortable pain because I had enough and decided to get off, so I took one instead of two and then half but obviously too rapid. This is the only office I go to. Now that they also have a location in Sparks right by where I live it's a no brainer. The staff is fantastic and Dr. Zeller has personally not only helped my medical issues but has changed the trajectory of my life towards full health. They do not accept insurance but there pricing is affordable and Dr Zeller makes it a priority to work with you to get the help you need. I don't feel like a number in his office. I feel like I'm getting top notch attention, advice, and the medicine I require from a close friend or family member with medical knowledge. He doesn't just seek to solve the problem he invests time digging to the root of the symptoms to get to the heart of what you may be dealing with. I just wanted to say from the bottom of my Heart that Dr. Zeller is one of the best Dr's that I have come across since myself growing up in the SF Bay Area! He's a hell of a person and helped a US Army Veteran going through terrible generalized anxiety disorder with schizoeffective disorder depression type. He gave me the medication that I needed to stay sain with my terrible anxiety, after the Veterans Administration shut me down for certain anxiety medication due to prior past bad experiences because I was on saboxone at the time. I finally found the right anxiety medication that does not make me black out and that's what the VA is holding back on. I now have to go to an outside therapist because the VA doesn't seem to want to give some Veterans a second chance on a different anxiety medication that might help them considerably. Dr. Zeller is very smart and I will always have his back because he was there for me when other residents at the VA were not. That's why I believe that they aren't taking care of the Veterans enough with mental disorders and so many phychiatrist leave because of low pay and they can't treat the patients the way that they would normally do if it were a private practice. They say patients rights and confidentiality comes first but the government has too much business involved in the patients health. The government is infringing on Veterans confidentiality between the Dr. And the patient which is BS. THE Dr and his patient should be treated the way that the Dr. Would like to treat their symptoms rather relying on a numbers game and use us Veterans as genie pigs. I had to finally put my foot down with the VA about my prozac prescription because it wasn't working anymore after being on it for over a year and I asked about escitalipram as a new medication but at first they didn't want to give it to me and I know why, its because of the cost so their higher up can pocket more money for other programs! That's not how you take care of a USArmy Veteran who is a 100% service connected disability. In my eyes every Veteran should be treated with the upmost respect and taken care of no matter the cost. The Covid 19 stimula package was 1.9 trillion dollars and only 17 billion went to the Department of Veterans Affairs nationwide. That's less than 1% but we can give pork barrel spending to foreign countries in return never help us out but the US is always there when they need help and in return they don't give us shit back. The Government could of easily give the Department of Veterans Affairs at least 5 to 8% funding to take care of those who have served and layer the ultimate sacrifice for the Freedom we currently have, oh and plus why not take some of the Covid 19 stimulas and take care of those families who endured loses on 9/11 and the responders, but no we throw them to the side like they mean nothing while the politicians pocket their money and influences. I can now say how I truly feel and I have been off saboxone for 4 moths and never want to touch opiates again unless I go through a terrible incident or surgery but none to take home, only in the hospital. The VA has to understand that some people do change over time and that they should not always rely on their past experiences because you really don't know what a person has gone through, through tough times in their lives, its too Government controlled and judgemental. I will always have Dr. Zellers back, because he has heart and cares for his patients! And the lady's at the front desk make you feel at home. Take this review with a grain of salt as I never actually made it into the office. I called to ask a quick question to see if I needed an appointment and I was put on with Dr. Zeller. I'm definitely impressed I got to speak with the Doc right away and I let him know I just had a quick question for him. Unfortunately, 5 seconds (this is not an exaggeration) into my explanation of my situation I was cut off and told to get to the "Quick question" because he had two other patients and an attorney waiting for him. This flustered me and I ended up not making any appointment and just thanking him for his time. I would have much rather just talked to an assistant or nurse that had more time for me rather than being rushed talking with Dr. Zeller. I'm not one of those crazy patients that will talk your ear off for ages, but I would expect to explain my situation for at least 20-30 seconds before he could give me any advice and say if I needed an appointment. As a 24 year old without insurance the idea of visiting a doctor can be rather daunting. So daunting in fact that I decided I'd be better off going untreated until after I had missed nearly a week of work. Off to Yelp I go to find an urgent care center that had no affiliation with any major hospital in town. Dr. Zeller did not sugar coat anything, he did not rush into writing a prescription, and he listened to each of my symptoms instead of shutting me up (they have done that at other places....yikes!). Not to mention that paying $100 to see a real doctor and walk out with a prescription is nothing compared to the nearly $400 I have paid at other urgent centers! read more

Absolutely the kindness and best staff I've ever encountered. My fiancé and I were in town to get married, I had come down with a respiratory infection, already on meds, but my fiancé was starting to feel ill. So amidst wedding planning, we had to stop by urgent care. Came here and were immediately greeted by the Doctor pulling away in parking lot telling us they're closed for lunch for half hour to just come back. We told him our situation and without hesitation he pulled right back in, giving up his lunch hour, to see my fiancé on the spot. I have never received such kind and caring customer service from a doctor before. To even give us the time of day, was beyond gracious. At first I was charmed by the decor being a little on the hippy-ish side, and I thought these would be some nice people. Then I got lectured by Dr. Zeller about "poisoning" myself daily (I smoke, I'm a grown woman, and I know it is BAD, mmmkay?) Got lectured about my weight (which is still about 50lbs over, but it is also about 100lbs LESS than it used to be) and put on BP meds that I didn't need. This place is ok when you don't have insurance and have a lot of patience to wait over an hour past your appt time. The waiting room is tiny and gets very stuffy and there is no air circulation to help with it. I was no impressed with the place. The Dr was pretty nice to my husband and looked him over and what not but when you wait over an hour past your appt time on your first visit makes us not want to return. I remembered that years ago when I had no coverage I saw Dr. Zeller for something that I don't even remember.. It was Friday afternoon and there was no one in the waiting room so I got in to see him in about 15 minutes (they do take walk ins) and let me tell you, this is one exceptional doctor! He handled my issue right away and saved me from a weekend of immobilizing pain. His staff is wonderful as well. What a great team you have Dr. Zeller! Every year my husband and I travel to Reno to take care of our beautiful grandchildren so that their parents can enjoy a few days at Burning Man... Our grandchildren are 2 & 5 and we took along our 9 year old as well... Long story short when we stopped to pick up the 5 year old he was so excited he ran and leaped into my Arms, unfortunately I was wearing high heels and though I have to say I am in good shape for a 55 year old, by the next morning I could not get out of bed... My husband goggled Urgent Care facilities and found Family Quick Care... They were professional and got me in immediately. The Doctor took time and examined me. He gave me a couple injections and some medication... I was very happy with his level of care and concern and would recommend this establishment to anyone needing medical service at a very reasonable cost. He saved our vacation! read more

I have now been seeing Dr. Zeller for almost 5 years even though I have insurance I will not switch to a different primary care physician. I would rather pay to see Dr. Zeller than switch because he is by far the best doctor in the Reno/ Sparks area. I have a chronic medical condition and he has seen me through some of the toughest surgeries and and times in the past 5 years. When I was under the care of a surgeon for my 2nd Cesarean section. I was promised I would be taken care of and assured all through my pregnancy that I would be comfortable during my hospital stay and after while i recovered. I have Pelvic congestive syndrome which causes me chronic pelvic pain. And more pain than normal in my pelvic region due to varicose veins and over active nerves. But after I gave birth that was far from the truth I was miserable and in so much pain. I was told to bring in my prescription I had been on for the last 3 years when I was admitted and I would get my normal dose while in the hospital. Just for the intern surgeon to withhold my prescription and medication and only give me tylenol and motrin. I was suffering... I had spoke with Dr. Zellers nurse practitioner during my hospital stay about what was happening. They told me to come right in when I was discharged. And I did. Dr.Zeller took care of me and had gone above and beyond to find out the inter surgeon that had overseen my hospital stay. This is one of the many times Dr. Zeller has gone far beyond his duties as my primary physician to make sure I am healthy and comfortable, not only physically but emotionally/ mentally. I trust him. He has tremendously improved the quality of my daily life. I highly recommend Dr.Zeller he is compassionate and caring and does his best to make sure each of his patients are taken care of and given the best medical care. Dr. Zeller knows every patient is different and will do everything he can to make sure he gives the best care to improve their quality life. Dr. zeller tried to convince me that weight loss would help to clear up a bacterial infection in my leg. I was sent home from the clinic with antibiotics and a weight loss pill. I sent a fat friend of mine who had a wrist injury here just to see if he would say something about her weight and sure enough, he told her she needed to lose at least twenty pounds. I recently moved to Reno and needed to get established with a doctor. One doctor I called couldn't see me for a month! Another doctor I went to see was more interested in pushing his cosmetic surgery services. I then put off trying to find a doctor, until I needed a refill on a medication I take on a routine bases. So, I had no choice but to start my search again. On my way to work one morning, going down Wells Ave, I happen to see a sign for "Family Quick Care Clinic." I've passed that corner numerous times, but never really noticed there was a doctor's office on the corner. Next day, I called to get an appointment. I was stunned when I was able to get in within three days. Wow! I arrived for my one o'clock appointment. Completed a brief info form, and was sitting in an exam room within 20 minutes. Within 10 minutes, I was talking with the doctor. Dr. Zeller is personable and highly efficient. I was extremely impressed. Please take note that Dr. Zeller does NOT accept any forms of insurance. It is either cash or credit card. The one thing I look for in a doctor is accessibility. In short, can you get in to see him/her on short notice. No doubt it, you can get in to see Dr. Zeller fairly quickly. Keep in mind, Dr. Zeller runs a "no frills" practice, which helps keep costs down. I highly recommend him. read more

Well I my own insurance and my own PC, and still I choose to go see Dr. Zeller for when I got hurt and put on work leave. The results were there from the start. Their tact and professionalism were always present. I saw him for close to three months with tri weekly check ups on my conditions. All of his staff were understanding to my concerns that I wanted a holistic approach to other modalities . I was interested in fixing my whole body not just the aches with RX. They took my concerns and helped with my recovery in a pleasant approach, even with all my work documentation. I am greatful for the staff always returning my calls promptly and getting me in to all my appointments. The were very considerate to all patients, even the rude ones that I noticed and I noticed a lot people taking out their misery on others. The flip side was there were a lot more pleasant, comforting interactions that were shared with me and other patients that were repeat patients. I understand pain sucks! First impression good and hopeful. Second appointment, no show on his part. I have a very serious condition that needs a competent doctor to oversee my progress. If you actually need a doctor you can count on and not a doctor that just prescribes drugs, this idiot is not for you. Second appointment, Dr. Zeller was not there. No call, no courtesy call to remind you of the following days appointment. No call stating that your doctor will not be in for your appointment , and would you like to reschedule. No Nothing. This guy doesn't care about his patients or anyone else.. This includes his inexperienced and apparently overwhelmed staff, 40 calls a day is too much for them, even if it will save forty families a trip to the office, gas money, waking caretakers to drive a Patient to an appointment that doesn't exist. I went to Family Quick Care Clinic on 11/1/12 and was very pleased. I believed I had a UTI and I am pregnant therefore it was necessary that I got medical treatment. I am also uninsured. I knew going to urgent care would cost me $110.00 plus the cost of whatever prescription they gave me. Family Quick Care seemed like a better alternative. This is how my visit went: I arrived in the morning around 10am, I know this because sesame street came on the TV in the waiting room shortly after we got there, and was called back to be seen around 11am. I realize to some people this wait time isn't short and I'm not saying it is but as a walk in patient I didn't expect to be seen quickly. There were 3 other people in the waiting room, 2 of whom had appointments, and 2 more people came in while I was waiting, 1 of which had an appointment. When I was called back the nurse doing my initial check in bp, wt, etc. was extremely nice. Dr. Zeller came in with the results from my urinalysis maybe 10 mins. (that's probably longer than it really was) after I'd given the nurse my sample. He was really nice and confirmed my suspicion of a UTI. He didn't talk down to me and he wasn't shocked or offended when I told him I had a midwife when he asked me about my obstetrician. He also took into consideration my financial situation when choosing the pregnancy safe antibiotic to prescribe me. I was extremely pleased by his office and the service provided to me by them. I spent less on my appointment with him and prescription than just the trip to urgent care would have cost me. I would have given them 5 stars but the wait time was a bit longer than I would have liked. read more
