They mentioned having keratin as the ingredient in the product which it is NOT! I am a busy professional (surgeon) myself but make every effort to ensure my patients, new or old understand a procedure and have all questions answered. She mentioned to me that she has been in business for 30 years and owns 3 salons, none of which is relevant to the current situation. I'm extremely finicky over my length and always make a point to stress this. The stylist cut my mid-back length hair to my shoulders. I cried looking in the mirror most days for a good year, and I'm not exaggerating. Anyway...this place is incredible. Steve actually LISTENS and Carla is a talented and honest colorist. My hair was obviously in a state at this point where I needed to lose 5-6 inches of split ends and I was still happy when I left. Steve cut it in a way that would normally be uncomfortably short for me, but it still flattered my oval face. Been a regular for about two years now and he still starts small unless I tell him to cut more. Really refreshing coming from all these hairdressers that think "just take 1 inch" means they can get away with taking 4 and I won't notice. Two additional pluses: -Very reasonable pricing. If you are paying $100+ for a haircut you're being scammed. While the salon appears to be basic in style - the staff is anything but...They are warm, funny and welcoming. Sometimes I feel like I just walked in to Cheers - everybody knows my name. Teresa, the owner, is very sweet and accommodating. She keeps up-to-date with the latest styles for cuts and colors so my hair NEVER looks dated. I actually always get complements on my hair, people think it's my natural color. I tease Teresa and say it's just bc I have beautiful hair - but I know that it's because she's a great colorist and can be a magician at times. I was completely shocked after reading the negative comment that was posted in 2013. For one - the owner does not have a gruff voice, she has a very sweet voice. And who just walks-in to a salon for a cut and color. This isn't SuperCuts. Shouldn't you call first to see what the hours are and if they could accommodate you at that time? The lighting is not dim - it's actually bright, obviously this person walked in while they were closing. And what chemical smells is she talking about? The only time I've ever smelled chemicals is when color was being applied to my own head! I highly recommend Artistic Touch, always have and always will.
