My husband and I finally made it here in January this year for a weekend brunch, and then the weekend after that, and then the weekend after that, and then the weekend after that... It's entirely possible we came here 5 weekends in a row! So it's fair to say this is definitely going on the list of favourite brunch places. Consistently: the food is delicious, the coffee is good (they do BOWLS!), the staff are lovely and efficient, the place is big enough that you can usually easily get a table, and there is plenty of street parking around. And it's less than a 10 minute drive from our house. Bonus. They have a range of breakfast & lunch items on the weekend - sweet, savoury, and hearty smoothies or juices - and they are open til 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, which I like because it means you can come in for a proper lunch instead of just a very late breakfast (sometimes it's just difficult to get out of the house before midday on a Sunday, you know?). They will also try to accommodate any specific dietary requirements, some are marked on the menu but if you can't see it then just ask and they'll work something out if they can. I came here with my mother on one occasion and she was happy, despite her ever-expanding range of food intolerances, so that's quite an achievement. Word of warning though - the Famish'd breakfast (basically the equivalent of a 'big breakfast' anywhere) is GIGANTIC. Bustling on a Saturday morning! I attended a small gathering here on a Saturday morning. It was busy and bustling, the cafe is spread across two small buildings and a few outside dining areas yet the wait staff nailed it with their attention and service without missing a beat. I feared I'd be forgotten amongst all the people. I had the eggs Benedict and a coffee, both were great. The eggs were cooked well and I was offered to have the eggs cooked to my preference, not something that's too important to me but I liked that they still asked. I also noticed they served GIANT mugs of coffee, what cute idea; however, I'm mindful of what constitutes a toxic dose of caffeine! I definitely would love to come here during the week when I had some time to get comfortable and do some reading or work. Can't wait to come again! read more

I've stopped in to this suburban haven for coffee a couple of times and have been impressed not only by the coffee but by the fantastic service. It's obvious that everyone here, from the owners down to the the most junior of staff, make a special effort to make you feel at home, and keep you coming back (an imperative when you run a venue a little off the main drag). The beans were Elixir, an increasingly popular boutique roaster in Brisbane. My latte was nice and hot without a hint of bitterness: made and served with suburban love and character! read more

Well, well, well. In the midst of leafy Ashgrove, what I think were once two houses, are now the bustling cafe Famish'd on Frasers. A cafe I'd long heard about, read Yelp reviews of, but yet still hadn't been. This weekend changed all that when my partner-in-crime and I were in need of an early lunch and coffee. Stat. Despite being Father's Day, there was still ample room for a table for two and we were seated with a smile. Our coffee orders were taken and I don't think I'd blinked before they were delivered to our table. Famish'd use Toby's Estate beans and the skill of the baristas bring together a beautifully satisfying cup of coffee. The menu has a little something for everyone. It's kid-friendly, offers simple jaffles, eggs on toast, and then a little twist on savoury mince. We both went with the savoury mince which is served with herbed gnocchi, a poached egg and a slice of sourdough. It's a warm hug, homely and soulful. That said, it could have done with a little less herbs - the rosemary or thyme was strong, strong, strong! All in all a great all-rounder cafe and one that I'm eager to return to for it's relaxed atmosphere, efficient service and well-done cafe meals. read more

I went into Famish'd on a wet Saturday morning with my husband and a friend, we were all absolutely famished (lol) to the point where crankiness was setting in. I have had a take away coffee from Famish'd in the past, but never eaten, so I didn't know what to expect. I should add that my take away coffee was a nice change from the usual bitter burnt bean coffee I seem to be getting a lot of lately, but I digress! So we walked in to find that inside and the alfresco area were all full, but surprised to hear that they have tables in the "rooms" next door. The room we were in was quite drab looking, which is unlike the main area which is full of artwork you can purchase and walls painted with a homage to the ADF. (Enoggera Barracks is across the road.) I ordered a banana smoothie as I often do, it was super good but I suspect it had a high ice cream content and let's face it, ice cream makes everything taste super good. The smoothie had a generous dash of cinnamon too, which added a welcome hit of zang. The guys both had a pot of tea, which was standard. I ordered the Famish'd Bendict, it contained sourdough, poached egg, hollandaise and spinach, with option of ham, mushroom and their own cured salmon. I went with the salmon and boy was I glad I did! It was terrific! I'm thinking about it right now and am considering banging down their doors and absconding with whatever salmon they have! The eggs were poached perfectly, still warm when served and gorgeously gooey. I found the hollandaise a bit bland, but that may have been because the salmon was the star of the show! My husband had the Famish'd breakfast, which had sausages, roasted bacon, egg, bread, spinach and a sweet potato & leek cake. He loved the whole dish. I only tasted the sweet potato cake and let me tell you, I considered steeling it from him! He said the "bacon was incredibly crispy." Our friend had the bacon and eggs, very standard it is what it says it is. Bacon was roasted, he chose to have the eggs scrambled, they were slightly overlooked, but otherwise he enjoyed it very much, I must add he is one infuriatingly fussy eater! The service was very friendly, a but slow but to be expected on a busy Saturday morning, the waitress we had was welcoming and clearly knew what she was doing. This unassuming little cafe is quite a find. After two very lovely visits, I'm happy to call it my local. The service was prompt and lovely on both occasions. It can get a bit busy with groups from the military camp, but it didn't effect the waits or overall feel. While I haven't had much from their menu, everything looked nice and what we'd had was great and priced well. The gluten-free chocolate brownie (with a side of cream) was absolutely amazing, while being big enough to share. I also had the bagel for breakfast, which was delicious and huge. Looking forward to coming back and trying something from the lunch menu. read more

Around the corner from where I grew up there is a little commercial space that has seen a revolving door of businesses over the years. My personal favourite up until now has been the twenty four hour laundry - for all those times I needed a clean shirt at four in the morning. Famish'd on Frasers is the latest addition to Frasers Road and while it may not be open 24 hours, (although a 24/7 suburban cafe is a business model as interesting as it is fundamentally flawed) it is by far the best proposition this little corner has yet seen. The decor is nothing too out of the ordinary but I was a fan of the large wooden table situated directly inside the entrance. Also of note are the various paintings of Brisbane landscapes and landmarks that line the walls. As I waited for my coffee I wandered around admiring these colourful impressions of places and monuments so familiar to me. And as for the coffee - great! A very pleasing development for me given the close proximity to my family home. The staff, too, were notable in their service. All offering smiles and a shared joke over the counter as I ordered my beverage. The ability to make a customer feel welcomed and of value is important for any business but absolutely vital to a local cafe just starting out. So while this particular corner may have served as a graveyard for many a budding entrepreneur I am confident after my experience of Famished that this is the place that will finally break the curse. read more

Cafe's like this need websites like Yelp, mainly because otherwise non locals would never know about them! I was tempted to visit this after reading Sean's review and I have no regrets. I met a friend here for coffee (iced for me, it's been bloody hot) and we were both impressed with the blend and the service. The cafe itself is very open and light, and I'll definitely be back. read more

I've been here quite a few times with my mothers group as there is a kick-ass park just around the corner, and each time I've loved it! The food definitely over delivers with the portion size and quality. I love the fact they have dairy-free protein smoothies, which is something that's hard to find in normal cafes as most places have the standard whey based protein. As a dairy-tard I look for this kind of stuff. There are super accommodating with babies and the service is very warm and generous. We'll be back! read more

I had the heathy breakfast. It was very tasty with a different approach. The coffee was also very good.

Very disgruntled. I rang around 8.30 am to book for 4 guests for dinner & was told there is a minimum of 10 for a dinner booking. We spent most of the morning rounding up our friends so we could book for 10. I rang back at 1.30 pm to book and was told that the minimum is now 15, so we are now going elsewhere. This experience, along with the lack of a variety of gluten free cakes & desserts, means that Famish'd is definitely off my "go to" list. This is very sad, as we live within walking distance and really like to support local businesses. read more

I really love this place. I often get take away here, because of the great park around the corner, but I have also had a few sit down meals here. I have never been disappointed by anything they have put before me. The food and drink selection leaves me spoiled for choice. And they have a great selection of food that are perfect for little kids. Every time, I go, no matter what time of day, there are always people there- because it rocks! read more
