Its like nails on a chalk board to me when a sales associate jumps on you like white on rice, and doesn't allow you to enjoy your shopping experience. That's what I loved about my time in here, I already hate malls and everything that goes along with it, but I needed more winter shoe gear for the upcoming season and the employees leave you alone here to browse in peace. This is also a pretty organized store so it was easy to find sizes. I think this is the cheapest priced place for decent shoes with name brands that are not sold in Payless in Bellingham. I also like this particular store because it has my size of shoe which is size 5 and nearly impossible to finds anywhere. I was able to pick up some lovely black tall boots as well as tan winter waterproof snow boots. They also had a crazy buy one get the second half off sale so that was fun. When I did interact with an employee at check out it was easy peasy, and the cashier was super nice. Worst service experience ever. It's almost like they don't want to sell you shoes. That's how difficult they make it to shop there. A week ago, went in looking for a pair of shoes that were listed "available in store" on their website. The clerk couldn't find them. They also couldn't go to the back and look because their supervisor was "writing the schedule?" Apparently the schedule writing supercedes selling shoes. They were not helpful in placing an order and simply said come back next Tuesday when we get our shipment. Fast forward to today! Tuesday... wait for it, they said "just because we get our shipment on Tuesday, doesn't mean that the shoes are put out on Tuesday." See? They DONT WANT TO SELL SHOES. Solid 3.5, looks like an outlet store with the boxes right in the aisles, so easy to find your size. Skechers, Dr. Martins, Timberland and Sperry are the types of labels here, and really didn't see any pair over $60 lol, so it's a place to get deals. AMEX good here. This place is lower priced than everywhere else in the mall. We priced the same shoe EVERY other place in the mall that sold them and Famous Footwear beat them all by $60!!!! Staff is always super helpful, the layout of the store makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The only issue i have ever had was not getting a discount (ex:buy 1 sock get one half off) apparently this is done as the last step when ringing out so it is easy for them to miss. This store has the most MADDENING procedures to purchase a pair of shoes! I once waited 20 minutes while the cashier hounded these elderly people for their email address in order to compete the purchase. I had to sit and listen to 20 minutes of back and forth while another cashier stood around as well. There are two tills so why couldn't the other employee simply take me to the other till and ring me up quickly while the other harassed the elderly people? It should be far more simple:Ring customer up, take payment, hand change/receipt and DONE! I will never buy shoes for myself or my family there ever again. My time is not worthless but when I have to wait for the cashiers to give someone a quiz about their life story and hound them for an email that they clearly don't want to give there is clearly something wrong with how they train their employees. It wasn't the cashiers fault, it's the head honchos who make their cashiers ask for all kinds of information that has absolutely nothing to do with buying some shoes.
