What should have been a simple and quick process turned into one of the most unprofessional and hostile encounters I've ever had at a store. When I politely asked if anyone else could assist with the line (since the cashier was taking an unusually long time with one customer), the employee at the front desk, Alex, responded with rudeness, gave me a dirty look, and then joined the customer at his desk in laughing at me after that customer made a disrespectful remark. When it was finally my turn, instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility. Alex raised his voice at me, pushed my return box so that it nearly fell on me, and told me he would not accept my return. He continued to argue and speak negatively toward me, escalating the situation instead of resolving it. I asked for security to be called and made it clear that I was prepared to call 911 due to how aggressive and unprofessional this employee was being. At this point, the line behind me had grown long, and many other customers were visibly frustrated. Thankfully, the supervisor Renee stepped in. She was calm, professional, and processed my return quickly. However, Alex continued to be disruptive even while she was handling the matter, ignoring her request to step away. This kind of treatment--mocking a customer, refusing service, and acting in a physically and verbally aggressive manner--is completely unacceptable. While I am grateful to Renee for her professionalism, no customer should ever be treated this way. Amazon and Kohl's management need to be aware of how damaging this behavior is to their reputation. Customers deserve respect, fairness, and safety when visiting this store.

But that can be a 2-edged sword. In this particular case, I felt the store tried to hard to have a little bit of everything, and not necessarily enough variety of particular things. That for me included the men's clothing area. What I found I liked very much, and that included the holiday gift tables and the cookware. The store is otherwise neat and clean and relatively well stocked. If you aren't too limited in the items for which you are looking, you can do well here.

You want to see the jewelry in the front case. You can't. Too much junk in the way. If you make your way into the front side room, it is pretty tidy in there. That's where you'll find clothes, books, and puzzles. I checked the price of a paperback book - $2. Puzzles were between $2 and $5 (some new). If you make your way to the back room there is kitchenware and kids' toys. A used cheese grater that was originally $9 was marked $5. Too much for this cheapo. A vintage looking electrical appliance was $75. I don't know what is was, but that seems way too pricey for any small kitchen appliance. I was interested in some of the china, but it was packed in too tight with coffee cups ($2) dangling from hooks in front of them. Removing a plate would be like playing Jenga with glass blocks. They need to have a sale and get rid of some of the junk that is just in the way. People can't buy things if they can't see them. Do like other thrift stores and figure out a way to identify how long something has been on the store floor, and then automatically drop the price after a month or whatever. I know you want to make as much as you can for the charity, but if people can't see what you're selling, they won't buy it. If you price it too high for your clientele, it won't sell either. You can't raise money for the charity by just hoarding stuff! I do want to point out that the women who work here are very nice!

Taking into account that the item looked like an antique and was very sturdy, I assumed that that a fair flea market price would be around $40.00, but all that they wanted was $12. Astonished by the deal, I decided to dig around a little bit more. Behind the small and unassuming store front is a veritable cavern of Halloween costumes, ice skates, and more kitchen items that you can shake a stick at. Love it and will definitely be back.

I'm looking at the wall of hats behind the counter and never asked if I need help. The counter lady did however Asist the other gentleman behind me with his selections and refund a hat off that wall. she completely over looked me, like I wasn't there at all. I just walked out after 5 min of building rage rather than react. The guy I was overlooked for was in faded pink head to toe, new hat and all. She completely complimented his outfit too,,so this chick remembers the customer. I was in jeans, and a dark coral bull shirt needing a hat for my messy mop of hair. I frequented this store 1/4 mile or less from home and one in Lawrence . I'll Never ever return to that location again. Perhaps the store in general. Then decided to tell me that all of my tags were wrong! I can see one tag, but 10 items??? Then says "you know what you did". I said "I'm sorry, I didnt do anything, what are you implying" she ignored me. She said the prices were wrong. I'm APPALLED at her behavior and insinuating demeanor. They also sell used women's clothing, shoes, purses, handmade bows and some new items. I decided to write a review after giving them two chances. Months ago, I went there to consign gently used toys, games and girl's clothing. (You can get a percentage of sales of your items for store credit or receive a lesser cash payment once things sell.) I dropped off brand name items (like Gap and Old Navy), several of which were new with tags. I am convinced I should have received some money since I gave them three giant containers of items to sell. For goodness sake, some clothes were never worn and some were new with tags and the toys were in great shape! Anyway, when I went in a second time to drop off more items I asked if I had any money balance or store credit with them and they said no. Really? Not even $1 out of all the stuff I brought in? The store clerk said that it was a tough winter. I just don't believe her. Looking around I saw none of the items that I left there. I was uneasy about this, but decided to give them another shot and left more gently used and new items for them to sell for me. Both times I went on a Tuesday. I recently contacted the store through facebook to see if I had any money or store credit, and was told I have nothing. Honestly, I don't see how that is possible since I left very good quality and popular brand-name items. I feel cheated and want to warn anyone else who is considering dropping items off there. In the future I will just donate items to the Hope Chest in Lowell, or have a yard sale.
