Online, my size, 10e, is never a problem. In this store, they seem to operate on some formula for in stock sizes that dates back to the American 1960s. Most of their styles do not have a 10e, they have 10, 10.5 standard width, and 10eee. They say, if I don't see my size, to ask a salesperson, but this results in the sales person looking through the same stack I just looked through (taking a little longer than me) and pronouncing that they don't seem to have my size. Very annoying. I'm going to stick to ordering directly from Allen Edmonds or Kiziks.

But I hate that the options for my giant feet are not great and the things I like are often pretty pricey. Occasionally I will score a good deal on something, but this was not one of those days. The pickings for my size were slim and I had to dodge a giant cart of shoes that a worker was using as their staging area, giving me a look like I was inconveniencing her for daring to shop while she is stocking shoes. We placed the order through Macy's and it was fulfilled by this Florsheim facility in Glendale, Wisconsin. The shoes cost $110 plus $9.79 in sales tax, so $119.79. Standard shipping was free. The shoes arrived in less than a week. As soon as I unboxed them, we were both immediately impressed with the look of the shoes. They looked just as good in person as they did in the professional pictures on the website. However, we all know the true test is the fit. I've returned or exchanged numerous shoes over the years because, while the shoes looked great, they did not fit great. To my delight, these shoes fit well on the first try. I was pleasantly surprised and happy. I used the "True Fit" feature on Macy's website -- I entered in info about a couple shoes I already owned (brand and size) and the True Fit feature recommended what size I should order these particular shoes in. It worked. If you see True Fit while shopping for shoes online, I highly recommend taking advantage of it. It can save you time and hassle later. The lacing was uneven on one of the shoes so that was annoying. Out of the box, the shoes came with the standard and common criss-cross lacing style, but my wife changed them to the neater and cleaner-looking straight bar lacing style. The shoes look perfect. They fit well and are comfortable too with Memory Foam insoles. These aren't my first pair of Florsheims, but they are the first in a long time. They knocked it out of the park with this order.

While I like their products, their shipping program is very poor. My online order appears to have been shipped from a foreign outsource--so now I will be billed for a "Cross-border Fee." If I had been aware of this, I wouldn't have purchased their shoes. My UPS (United Parcel Service) delivery was scheduled for this afternoon and I tracked it digitally for the past week. I made sure that I was home for my delivery. No delivery was even attempted by UPS. They transferred my delivery to the USPS (United States Postal Service) and no tracking numbers or operators that I've called can tell me where my package is or where I can pick it up. Obviously, I won't be sitting at home all weekend for an unscheduled "second" delivery attempt--when the first delivery wasn't even attempted. Very poor form. Perhaps I need to buy my shoes from Red Wing or Wilcox. I wear high-quality boots too--I'll think twice before subsequent purchasing of Florsheim Shoes online.

Now it's been a month and my husband is still using his insoles. We appreciated the follow-up visit from The Good Feet Store that started with a phone call. Michael was at a point in which he thought that he had wasted his money and was feeling frustrated as the insoles were causing significant discomfort and even pain. Then THFS called to check on him and he was encouraged to go back to the store and have his feet and inserts checked. Now he is staying on the right track; one step at a time.
