Rodiez's is legit! I was recommended to check this place out for new athletic shoes and it did not disappoint! I wanted to support a smaller local business and wanted expertise that is mentioned in their review. The man who assisted me was very helpful. He measured and looked at the arches of my feet, then brought out various shoes to try on. There is an area to run with the shoes and feel how they preform. After I selected my pair, he then showed different colors and I got a 15% discount for belonging to a gym. It was really the staff's knowledge of different shoes and which would best my fitness routine that made me feel secure in my purchase and would prompt me to return. Rodiez's is a specialty running store for the running enthusiast. It's great that these stores still exist (Rodiez's just celebrating 26 years in business) for when you need some expert advice, tailored for your mileage, budget, and personal preferences. I had a gift certificate to burn here, and was glad, too. Running shoes have gotten a lot more expensive than when I was running Cross Country in High School, 25 years ago! The young gentleman that helped me out was great at showing me some shoes for my price preference, and asked me questions about my mileage, what I currently wear, etc. Great service, here! I ended up paying more than I expected to, just because I wanted some lighter/faster shoes. But I would definitely return to Rodiez's, and highly recommend them for the casual runner, and enthusiast, alike. read more

I have heard so much great things about this store! If you want running shoes, you need to go there! They will measure your foot and find the exact pair that is best for you! They have a great selection! There website says: All Rodiez's employees are trained in helping customers find the proper running shoe, depending on your foot type. We help fit everyone from the beginner to the elite! I had the complete opposite. I walked in and a woman said "How can I help you" I replied, "I need some running shoes" I was expecting a full sizing and going over my shoe, etc and all she did was reply "what size are you?" I gave her my size and she said "Let me go look" and she came back and said "we only have one pair in the store of your size." One pair? I tried it on, it seemed to fit well, but I sure wasn't about to spend $120 on a pair with only trying on one shoe, of a color I didnt like. I went here to get a pair of running shoes for school. I have never done anytime of running before. The staff her worked with me for almost half an hour. Measuring my foot, checking how I run and how my foot sits to get me the best fit possible. After getting me about 13 pairs of shoes to try on, I found my pick. Tonight was my second trip to Rodiez's in two weeks. My very first visit, I worked with Shawn. I explained my plantar faciitis predicament and what I was currently doing to try and help my issue. Shawn sized my foot and went to work. After trying several pairs of shoes I found my perfect fit in a pair of Asics. Shawn was very knowledgeable, professional and did not push me to try shoes that were either more expensive or a newer model. He knew exactly what shoes to pull for me to try. Tonight I went back to find a second pair of shoes. I am wearing my new pair all day minus sleeping...so, literally all day. Kevin helped me this time. Same GREAT experience. Kevin was very knowledgeable and also pulled several pairs of shoes for me to try and yes, some of them I had tried on the last visit. I found another GREAT pair of shoes. I highly recommend Rodiez's for anyone that has foot issues or is an avid runner. My brother comes here once a year to buy his running shoes. He recommended this place to me and loves it. My first interaction was many years ago when I started training for a half marathon, I happened upon this store, and had such a great experience that I have since brought everyone I know (looking for running shoes) there to shop. The staff is knowledagle, helpful, and best part; never rush you. I think that last time I was there with a friend, she tried on at least 15 pairs. The employee was really helpful, recommending certain shoes and explaining how they would be better for my foot shape compared to others. He didn't overwhelm me with choices, but let me start with 4, and had me run on their mini-track. He explained how the brands differ, and what to expect from each. I have bought running shoes at several different running stores including Fleet Feet, Performance Outfitters, Running Away, etc. and never have I experienced such horrible service for a (returning) customer. Surprising coming from what's supposed to be a neighborhood running store. I will never be back and any runners looking for new shoes should stick to Fleet Feet or Performance Outfitters. I bought 2 pairs of running shoes, socks, etc. and after wearing one of the pairs one time and deciding they didn't fit, I went back to the store to exchange/return. EVERY other running store has always been completely understanding and happy to return shoes if the fit isn't right--worn or not. Not Rodiez's. They told me they were extremely worn. I showed them the receipt proving when they were bought (the day before!) and the hundreds of dollars I had JUST spent in the store. Their reply: "sorry, we only stand behind manufacturer's defects." This coming directly from the manager who poked his head out of the office and wouldn't even come to the counter. I was pretty taken aback by the lack of willingness to please a returning customer. Fleet Feet will take back shoes after 30 days!!! Even if they are worn. Stay away. There are much better running shoe stores in Milwaukee. read more

After having a terrible experience breaking in shoes and having my heels covered in blisters, I decided that I needed new ones. I needed to go to some place that knows running shoes. Rodiez's knows running shoes. I've known about Rodiez's for years since I would go here for cross country shoes back in high school. Years ago, I remember the friendly and intelligent service from those who know their running shoes. On a dreary Saturday afternoon, happily nothing's changed. The two men working were able to fit me with a more comfortable and sturdy shoe. I also got some anti blister socks for added protection. I enjoyed my trip down memory lane by doing a lap through the back of the store like I remembered it. Meanwhile my bf also got fit for some running shoes. His previous shoes had holes galore. He found a great pair of shoes that meets his needs. He donated his old pair of shoes to a bin dedicated to recycling the rubber for playgrounds. I'm just getting back into running and needed a good pair of shoes. I went to Rodiez's because I have wide feet but narrow heels and can be difficult to fit. The owner helped me and he was fantastic. Very patient and definitely knew what he was talking about. I got a pair of shoes that corrects my pronation and are very comfortable. You're not going to be able to get a $40 pair of running shoes like you can get at a department store, but it's definitely worth the money. read more

These guys are AWESOME. I have been going here for my last 4 or 5 pair of running shoes. A few weeks ago, I branched out and bought a pair that was quite a bit different from the style I had been accustomed to running in. They simply were not working out and my body was feeling it. I called on a whim, with very low expectations, as I'd run in the shoes about 6 times. I asked about their return/exchange policy and to my surprise, they said they'd try to work something out. The next day I came in and received excellent service from Scott. He grabbed me the pair I wanted and then came back saying that he could swap them for me, as if they were an even exchange. The first pair was a little pricier, but I did not mind losing $20 for a pair of shoes that would work well for my body. Thank you Rodiez's for having great customer service! It's always great talking to Tony and reminiscing about the great running days of the 80's, 90's, etc. My experience is that the staff is very experienced and thoughtful about recommendations. Recently, Tony made a great recommendation about winter running shoes. I'm someone who runs in very frigid conditions (no matter what). The shoe he recommended was perfect and pairing them with a wool sock kept my feet warm. I've been going to Rodiez's since I moved to Milwaukee 15 years ago. Tony is an icon in the Milwaukee running community. His store may not have all the bells and whistles of Instep or Performance Outfitters, but it reminds me of Bill Rodgers running center in Boston; a specialty store for runners. read more
