First I want to start by saying the staff is friendly and kind and I don't like writing negative reviews about small businesses but i hope that with this review small changes will be implemented. I visited this salon twice for acrylic nails and a pedicure. While the finished look was nice, I'm very disappointed with the condition of my natural nails afterward. After removing the acrylics, I now have "rings of fire" on all of my nails, which indicates they were over-filed. During one appointment, my cuticle was cut so deeply that it bled. My nails are now very sensitive, brittle, and damaged. I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the salon. During my second visit, I noticed the tools used on me were placed back into the same container as other "clean" tools instead of being properly separated for sterilization. That raised concerns about their sanitation practices. Although the final appearance of my nails looked good, I don't think the health of my natural nails or the sanitation standards were given enough attention. read more

The overall Nail work done for me is not that professional. The nail tect that worked with me is quick, sloppy, and unprofessional. Don't get me wrong, the young man who worked next to her did an amazing job. The nail work I've received, the sides of my where she added the acrylic are uneven and thick and length of the nails are also uneven and crooked. This is the first salon I've been to that she used a scissor to cut my nails. A few of the nails are so thick it has a curve to it at the base and the nail tect refused to accept what I told her. She kept making excuses and that she don't see it and "it's fine. Nothing is wrong". I literally had to turn my fingers around and showed her from my angle. After asking politely it a few times for her to fix it, she quickly buffed it off and I can tell she's irritated. Mind you, I let her talk the whole entire time telling me why I should come back. She asked me where I've been to before her salon and how often I "treat myself". As a mother, we don't pamper ourselves enough, but I don't have to tell her what I know about self care and beauty experiences. I mentioned one on "H" and she replied "people don't go there anymore because they're getting old". I didn't comment, I just let her continue to talk...I thought that was rude of her to say that, so I continued to keep my silence and nod. Before she finished, she told me to rate the salon and "give it a 5 star". She was demanding for me to rate it before I leave and literally had her phone up waiting for me to do it. She asked me a few separate times to do it. I did what she asked at first, but I felt so wrong giving it a 5 star. Due to slow or no connections, the page was loading for the longest time. She mentioned it again one last time, I got a little annoyed and showed her my phone screen that's loading. That's when she finally stopped bothering me about it. The page never completed before I left, but I'm going to give my honest opinion when I get home regardless. I usually don't rate, but I did here just because she asked me to. If you guys ever go anywhere where the service TELLS you to give them a "5 star", just be honest to yourself, the service they provided, do others a favor on social media and rate it honestly. I'm not trying to put anyone/business down, just an overall honest rating here. read more

I was a walk in appt, they had immediate availability. I got a cat eye gel mani and regular pedi. Shop was a bit cluttered (why are most nail shops like this), anyway the bowl for pedi was lined and tools used were clean. The standout was the young man (Devin/Dat) doing the pedi, he was so meticulous and thorough with the service, it didn't feel rushed. All the staff was very friendly. read more

One star is being generous. My manicure was rushed, and I bled twice, in all of my years of getting my nails done by different professionals, I've never blood in my life. Not to mention, I had to continue pointing out spots that the manicurist missed. On top of that I was left with globs of gel that cemented onto my skin. This is my first visit there for a basic pedicure. The environment seemed like a normal nail salon and the chairs seem to be a little bit older and as well as the equipment. However, the pedicure was very good. I had a very nice end result and they were very gentle yet thorough during the pedicure. The towels were extremely hot which was not a plus initially and I almost asked for them to be removed. The deluxe part was just scented water powder and scented scrub/lotion and the massage was minimal. I would still return tho- as I said the final result was what I wanted. The pricing isn't very clear, or posted anywhere- so make sure to ask. read more

My best friend and I came here late Saturday morning while running errands in Lompoc. We were scouting nails salons nearby as we both were in desperate need of a pedicure for a big event the next day. . Initially, we called them for a price check and they asked us to come in around noon; it was 11:15am when we called). That was a little later than we expected, nonetheless, shortly after they called us back and said we can come in right away! It was perfect timing as we were only five minutes away. . Upon walking in, we were greeted by the woman that took our phone call and they had us sit in the waiting chairs in the lobby while they set up the stations for our pedicures. . They were slightly busy for a typical weekend, but there were seven (7) employees present and they handled the volume well. No one was waiting to be serviced. My bestie and I agreed on a sparkly purple coat for our toes and sat next to one another. My tech had a great attention to detail and made sure to take their time. . I have my graduation ceremony this week and wanted to get a full set! The first couple of salons I tried to go to didn't have any spots available. I had wanted to make an appointment sooner but couldn't due to life circumstances. I looked up other salons in the area and called Famous Nails. They said I could come in right away and I was very excited! The minute I walked in, I was seated and asked about what color I'd like my nails to be. I showed some design inspo and the manicurist got to work. He was speedy but it simultaneously felt like he was taking his time with my nails. Once he was done, I was so happy with the final product! They were exactly what I wanted. Overall, very happy with my experience and would come again!:) One thing I will note is they prefer cash payment. I went in for a short white-tip full set and white pedicure for $55 each ($110 total). Price was fair, but I was there three hours... The lady who did my nails was kind & did a decent job. Hai did my pedicure. He barely even prepped the nail. A big concern is the sanitation of the place & practices. Everything looked used. At some point he grabbed a towel to clean his face, then later used that SAME paper towel to "clean" some blood off my in grown nail that was removed. Didn't even sanitize the nail, & still applied nail polish over a bleeding nail. Nothing about this place felt sanitary. On the bright side the owner (Cindy) was really kind. read more

The people who work in the salon are great, however when I go to get my nails painted with gel polish they use a grinder to make it easier for the gel to adhere. But it thins my nails and then the following week my nails break and I never have breakage issues. When I get my nails done I want them to last at least 2 weeks. When I complain to them, they say I don't have healthy nails. Not true, and not cool. read more

And they really spend time on the foot massage, unlike alot of places that rush through it. Update: Was a loyal customer but after waiting 10-20 minutes past my appointment time every single time I came- I had it. I am a busy mom of two toddlers. I have to do a lot planning and I manage to late it early for my appointment out of respect of their time. Yet I never get the same in return. I've waited for Tony to come in and he walks in with Starbucks, I've waited on Hai every single time I came and the service is already slow. The last time I went in Hai was 20 minutes over working on another customer. If it takes more than an hour to do a pedicure then why book back to back. I'm over the disrespect of my time so will not be returning. read more

The lady on the phone was nice and it was convenient to walk in for a pedicure but I would not return. The environment was uncomfortable, employees seemed to raise voices at each other, this happened when they were looking for the polish color I selected. My technician couldn't communicate with me, or even try, and it felt weird. The area was dirty (the organizer ftools and whatnot was covered in stuff) and I couldn't tell if they cleaned their instruments between services. I was also promptly ignored after my service and had to find help to leave and pay. It was awkward. I really needed my toes done for a Christmas event but I should have skipped it. I now and have some sort of weird painful, flaking, itching spot under one of my toes. Never ever again will I go to this place, I'm so upset and now afraid to see the health of my nails under the polish. I should call the state board on this sh*t show. read more

I went there the day before my Hawaii vacation and I wanted flowers on my nails for the occasion. The only drawback was that I had to wait an hour, even though I made an appointment.
