Amazing service from Chin! I recommend Chin for all services she is very experienced and has a very outgoing personality! Pure talent on my toes!

One star is being generous. My manicure was rushed, and I bled twice, in all of my years of getting my nails done by different professionals, I've never blood in my life. Not to mention, I had to continue pointing out spots that the manicurist missed. On top of that I was left with globs of gel that cemented onto my skin. I will definitely be putting my money somewhere else.

My best friend and I came here late Saturday morning while running errands in Lompoc. We were scouting nails salons nearby as we both were in desperate need of a pedicure for a big event the next day. . Initially, we called them for a price check and they asked us to come in around noon; it was 11:15am when we called). That was a little later than we expected, nonetheless, shortly after they called us back and said we can come in right away! It was perfect timing as we were only five minutes away. . Upon walking in, we were greeted by the woman that took our phone call and they had us sit in the waiting chairs in the lobby while they set up the stations for our pedicures. . They were slightly busy for a typical weekend, but there were seven (7) employees present and they handled the volume well. No one was waiting to be serviced. My bestie and I agreed on a sparkly purple coat for our toes and sat next to one another. My tech had a great attention to detail and made sure to take their time. . For their regular pedicure, it was $30, so $36 with a 20% tip. Definitely worth the trip, one of the best pedicures I've ever had! Thank you Famous Nails!

I have my graduation ceremony this week and wanted to get a full set! The first couple of salons I tried to go to didn't have any spots available. I had wanted to make an appointment sooner but couldn't due to life circumstances. I looked up other salons in the area and called Famous Nails. They said I could come in right away and I was very excited! The minute I walked in, I was seated and asked about what color I'd like my nails to be. I showed some design inspo and the manicurist got to work. He was speedy but it simultaneously felt like he was taking his time with my nails. Once he was done, I was so happy with the final product! They were exactly what I wanted. Overall, very happy with my experience and would come again!:) One thing I will note is they prefer cash payment. I unfortunately didn't know prior to coming but know for the future. They do take card if need be.

I went in for a short white-tip full set and white pedicure for $55 each ($110 total). Price was fair, but I was there three hours... The lady who did my nails was kind & did a decent job. Hai did my pedicure. He barely even prepped the nail. A big concern is the sanitation of the place & practices. Everything looked used. At some point he grabbed a towel to clean his face, then later used that SAME paper towel to "clean" some blood off my in grown nail that was removed. Didn't even sanitize the nail, & still applied nail polish over a bleeding nail. Nothing about this place felt sanitary. On the bright side the owner (Cindy) was really kind.

French mani from the best nails in Lompoc! They always go the extra mile for me. All staff are kind and talented. Happy camper, semi-regular (I live too far, but it's worth the trip) and I'm VERY picky. Thanks Famous family! I'll be back for cat eye next time ;)

Absolutely excellent results. Got builder gel fill and I feel like my nail tech took such meticulous care of my nails with my favourite shape I've had! There are also so many fun options and metallic ones I wanna try next time. Chin is an absolute light!!! She's the sweetest and a frequent customer next to me was telling me how she only lets Chin touch her nails! Definitely worthwhile and I'll be coming up from Santa Barbara just to go here again!

I felt like I needed a change on where I was getting my nails done and called Famous Nails to see if they had Gel X which my daughter in law recommended. They said they had it on order but come on over. I had an appointment scheduled and went in to see Tony, a nail artist that used to work where I went before. Tony did an amazing job and takes great pride in his work. Today, I opted to do Gel Builder. they are so light but so strong. I will continue to support Tony and Famous nails. Everyone there is very welcoming, kind, prices are fair and they do great work. Yes, I like my nails short but they came out amazing. read more

There was only staff member here at this time. Surprisingly he was still able to get me in with less than 10 minute wait. However, he kept mentioning how his wife was supposed to be coming to do my gel nails. The way he was saying it made it seem like he was not able to do them? The time under the UV light was uneven, but I mean it is still on 2.5 weeks later, so that is a good sign? I wouldn't recommend that he continues to use the vacuum cleaner to take off the nail trimmings and calus dust that was over my hands and desk. It didn't seem as hygienic to be doing that. But, I mean it works right? Faster cleanup! I loved the color he did on my hands. I appreciated that he was fast with the service. But I definitely don't feel like I got the full experience. There wasn't any soak. He made me do my own lotion at the end. In all, the job was done and it is staying on just fine. Just not the best experience read more

Manicurist was very good. They took me on the same day and I didn't have to wait long when I got there. I would recommend this shop. One thing, the reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because there is a lot of chatter between manicurists and it doesn't create a quiet, relaxing ambiance. It was a busy day for nails and they had a good amount of walk in customers, as well as appointments. read more

Absolutely love coming here. All the staff here is beyond amazing. I love them all so much there's not a single person without talent in this salon. It might be a bit of a wait but I promise it will beyond worth it ! Not to mention my favorite nail technician Tony is now at this salon. I've been going to him for 4 years straight. Service is always above and beyond expectations. They have an amazing Deluxe Pedicure that comes with sugar scrub, hot stones callus removal paraffin wax and an additional massage it's a must for me every time I come in !!! I've been to Famous Nails in Lompoc three times now, for a pedicure. Each time has been a relaxing experience. I usually call the day I want to come in, they schedule me, but say they will call if an earlier time becomes available and they do call me when this happens. My pedicures look beautiful and last a long time. The salon is clean. The owner and staff are kind. I enjoy supporting a local family and am grateful, especially after the pandemic, that I have found a wonderful place for my monthly pedicure. read more

Zero stars if i could. I went in with my daughter and it was awful. They did my daughter's nails looking ugly. They didnt cover the nail with enough polish so you can see white lines underneath the black polish. They did my nails terribly aswell. Didnt polish my nails completely and gave me fungus on 2 nails will NEVER GO BACK. Ive never had this happen and they made me wait 45 min before i got seated and waited another 20 min to be actually worked on and i had an appointment read more

Can't recommend this place, got my nails done but they look like a first week student did them. Thick, uneven, and filed crooked. I asked for them not to be squared off and the first thing she does is make them squared. Perhaps the lack of English is the problem? The polish has bubbles and is uneven. Light spots with uneven coverage makes the already lumpy nails worse. Additionally, they reuse nail files and buffers and I saw no evidence of any kind of sanitation between clients. Don't just walk away, run!!! read more

Came to this place back in December and got my toe nails does with Hai. Really sweet man and he did a great job, I got my toe nails done with gel and I kept meaning to go back sooner to get them redone. Aside from my actual nail growing the gel stayed intact, came back today and getting my toe nails done with Hai again. The place is clean and everyone is really nice, it's a sweet spot in Lompoc. read more

customer service is okay. i couldn't really understand them. The inspo pic i gave them was pretty difficult but they didn't even do the basic stuff like file my nails correctly, the gems look and feel cheap. the french tip was nice but you could see my real nails underneath. it was clear and ugly. i hate my nails going to take them off tmr. do not come here. read more

Came into famous nails and spa today. It was my first time here. As I came into the store, I noticed how clean the place is. Which is a big plus for me. The gentleman working showed me to my seat. As I looked through colors a lady walked in and introduced herself to me. Her name is Chin. She sat down and started conversation right off the bat. I love when people know how to start conversate. It makes things go much more easier. In conversation I ask about different things to do with my nails. She was very accommodating. At the end I mixed up the color I wanted. She was so nice she was willing to change it to what I wanted for me. But I actually liked the way the looked and responded with no it's ok. I truly like them. Which I do. She asked if I still wanted a design but with the colors I decided I did not need it. After I finished I sat waiting for my cousin to finish. And they all where still showing great hospitality. Oh my Lanta, I have no idea where to even begin with this review. I've been to Famous Nails and Spa two times prior and there's always been two elementary school children running around constantly. The female nail tech makes little to no conversation. So I'm sitting there for a good hour or two in silence or awkward notions. Simultaneously while answering the phone, telling her kids to shut up, and yelling at what seems to be her partner or co worker. I always call ahead of time for both parties to be prepared. This time around (my 3rd visit) arrived a minute late as the parking situation was not ideal and the male nail tech called me like crazy 3 times because I was late. The female nail tech that I was scheduled with was not even here yet. So I waiting about 15-25 minutes for her to frantically arrive and then communicate that they're understaffed and if I wanted a job because she has struggles traveling from job to job. I tell her that it's fine, I don't do nails. Good thing is you're safe and take your time to prep everything. She then asked me if I've been here before. Yes twice, show her the design I want and tell her I want the specific design and she proceeds to do my nails and all that good stuff and by the time she says I'm done I was horrified. Because of her anger I did not catch a chance to take a picture of the finished product before I had to plead for her to remove the newly made nails because they looked noting as pictured. I wanted yellow nails with the middle nail in each hand to have yellow flames with a yellow outline (pictured) and she gave me all yellow nails with one nail with yellow blob and black lining. I told her that if she was unable to do the design request I as the customer should have been let know before I waste an hour and a half of my day getting yelled at for not liking the bad design given. The reaction I got from the nail tech was rude and unprofessional and I told her I think this is my time to leave as her yelling in combination with her co workers yelling was uncomfortable. I. The meantime another customer waiting left. She chopped my nails off as I told her I didn't want to pay for anything if the service and designs are not up to par and will be going someone else. She does not remove any acrylic at all and I'm super upset at this point and walk out for a second and come back telling her that my nails look very bad and and I did not come in with my nails uneven, raw cuticles, and slabs of acrylic all over my nails and if there was any hypoallergenic or home remedies to remove the acrylic as my skin is prone to excema and the chemicals in acetone when you have your whole hands dipped causes for allergic reaction and exactly that happened. Despite telling her of my skin allergies she's pushing my hands in the bowl of acetone and I have her replace the first bowl of acetone because the first bowl had flakes of what looked to be dirt or dust mixed in. She was hesitate to change the acetone at first but then another customer getting her pedicure looked at her funny. To top it off, while the acetone is taking its time to remove from my nails she yelling at me that I'm here too long. I did not cause any if this, I called two days ahead of time to consider schedules and to receive such bad service after doing everything in your power as a customer to make it easy for the employees I'm flabbergasted. Will not be coming back, since it took so long to remove the acrylic, I had the time to call another nail salon in town to fix their mistakes and they scheduled me in two days later. Amazing work!!!!! Called and made a last minute appointment because my regular place is currently closed and I desperately needed a fill. Arrived and greeted warmly by Hai (I was early) and he offered me some refreshments while I waited for Cindy. She was there in no time and got straight to work. Smooth fill, shaped and filed my acrylics to my specifications and did my requested design/colors PERFECTLY. I did not schedule a pedicure, but mentioned I was overdue to the other salons closure the day of my last appointment. Hai IMMEDIATELY said "No problem, I can do it for you, TONIGHT!!! Now I'm torn...... do I go back to my regular spot that Ive been using for the last 4 months, or switch over Cindy and Hai. read more

I just finished getting a man-pedi and I love my nails! This is my second time going to Famous Nails in Lompoc. The owners do such a great job and are so friendly! I feel incredibly pampered and cannot wait for my next appointment. For my mani, I got the "Cats eye" done in purple. My nails are just gorgeous and I already got a compliment! I highly recommend getting your nails done here. Just sit back in your massage chair, relax and let them pamper you. read more

The staff is nice & the spa is clean. I am leaving one star because the callus remover they used caused a chemical burn on my feet. It hurts pretty badly so I suggest not to get that service or be very cautious if you do. The lady doing my pedicure was really nice but she was falling asleep. I didn't think too much of it because I am sure she was exhausted from working hard. But maybe that's why my foot got this burn ? I don't know what to say... The gel came out nice on my toes, & I tipped well but I am very upset this happened. The burn is very painful and appears to be getting worse. read more

Don't go here to get your nails done or removed. I have strong nails and he almost RIPPED my thumb nail off! IT HURTS so bad and I won't be able to get them done again till this heals not to mention, how did that happen to my ring finger nail too?? Also, even though my nails looked OK at first, THEY STARTED BREAKING OFF 7 DAYS LATER. Waste of my time and money. read more

Today I went in to get a pedicure and it wasn't the great experience. When removing the gel from one of my thumbs he removed the half top part of my nail and then fixed it by glueing it back. To my other thumb he made me bleed and I was bleeding for a while. He was sorry and tried to clean it up but I decided to leave because it was hurting and it just continued to bleed. They are nice people but my experience for my first time there wasn't great. read more

I love this salon! I originally started going to Famous Nails because it was a few blocks from home. We'll I've moved clear across town but good quality is worth a few extra minutes for me. Chin never fails to do a top notch acrylic set and fill, and the pedicures are equally amazing. Prices are reasonable as well. As icing on the cake, they are also very sweet people. You can't go wrong. If you're looking for quality nail work, don't wait, just go! read more

The pedicure had no polish, my toenails weren't buffed despite my specifically requesting it, and quite a bit of thick skin around the nails was left behind. I actually went home and finished the pedicure myself -- not quite the pampering finale I had envisioned. The technician replaced the hand and foot massage with a superficial application of lotion. By then, after two hours, I was late for my next service and just ready to move on. ‍Massage with Shannon: Absolutely. This was the redeeming service. I had a wonderful deep-tissue massage and body scrub that put me into a deep state of relaxation. The temple pressure during the scalp portion was too strong for me and took a few reminders to lighten up, but everything else was excellent. Shannon even turned on the shower for me afterward and brought me a fresh robe -- thoughtful touches that made a difference. Bottom line: Massage with Shannon? I'd go back. Waxing? Just OK for the price. Mani/pedi? Nope.

I understand businesses need policies, but I was disappointed there was no effort to offer any reasonable accommodation--such as a future credit or discount--for a circumstance completely outside of my control. As a local customer, what disappointed me most wasn't the policy itself but the lack of compassion, communication, and customer service during such a significant life event. If you cater to late-term prenatal clients, it's worth considering a policy that recognizes spontaneous labor can happen. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business based on how this situation was handled. Update: While the manager is standing by their cancellation policy, they acknowledged that late-term prenatal appointments are a unique circumstance and shared that they're reconsidering whether a separate policy should exist for situations like unexpected labor. They offered me a $120 spa credit as a goodwill gesture (with the original cost of my charged prenatal massage service being $240) I appreciate that they took the time to listen, reflect on my feedback, and make an effort to address my concerns. While I still believe there is room for improvement in how these situations are handled and the offer to make it right, I'm grateful my experience may help create a more compassionate approach for future prenatal clients.

I have been seeing the owner Cindy Doan for nails for over 7 years. I have followed her to each salon she has worked at because she is so diligent and takes her time. BEST service ever!!! I'm getting married Saturday and went to a different nail salon and they ruined my nails by cutting them to short. I called famous nails seeing if I could get a new set. They had me come in at 6:30 (when they close at 7). Not only did they fix my nails but they stay after the shop had closed to fix them and treated me like a friend. Most shops don't really talk and they get you in and out because they only care about the money. Chin (the owner) was Truly a life saver!!!! After I left, I realized that I did not get my 15% that I signed up for on their website. I will be going back to see Kevin only. Hopefully he can fix my pedicure. Also one thing that would be helpful would be for them to publish their prices. The salon I used to go to, Pacific Nails charges $45 for a basic manicure & pedicure, which also includes a great foot massage. The basic pedicure & powder dip here was $95!

However, 2 weeks before my 3rd appt - she abruptly cancels with an appt app text saying clients natural nail condition is not ideal for nail enhancements and if I have any questions contact her. I could see this explanation on my first visit and before anything......but Giving her the benefit of doubt and after 2 voicemails left and 2 texts left, she has ghosted me - completely no contact to explain anything. I went in with bitten and filed down nails (no fungus what-so-ever) and she made them beautiful again. I broke 1 before 2nd appt and at that appt she fixed and filled all. She herself said the darker underneath was almost gone (meaning my natural nail was growing nicely)....Mind you I paid in cash every time and always gave a 20% to 25% tip. I didn't even mind having to sign a visiting form each time and having my temp checked and wearing a mask there. So I wanted to let all know the integrity involved with this Owner.

I came in for the seaweed clay wrap treatment and relaxation massage with reflexology. There are tons more options to choose from! You get to pick your scented oil-- I went with lemongrass, it was super invigorating and rejuvenating. The massage table itself was heated, the heavy towels were a nice touch and kept me warm. Now onto the treatement...Wonder what the inside of a warm burrito feels like? Well I have never wondered that but I was able to experience that during my body wrap. Amazing! Bobbi dry brushes your entire body, applies the seaweed clay, wraps and tucks you in tightly with a blanket. At this point, you have the option for a scalp treatment or reflexology on your feet. She works and massages all the points on your feet while you relax like a swaddled baby. Next, the clay is wiped off with just-the-right temperature hot towels. This felt awesome, I could almost feel all the toxins coming off of me. I can't guarantee the validity of the toxins coming out of me but it sure felt like it was. The last part of the treatment was the relaxation massage. Bobbi really pays attention to each part of your body and knows exactly what needed to be worked on without me telling her. I left out of there feeling like a new woman, I feel like I can even breathe better! My skin is super soft and moisturized and I smell like walking lemongrass. I highly recommend her services; they are customizable to your every need. Prenatal, deep tissue, relaxation-- she has got you covered. I definitely plan on coming back, especially if I feel the need for a rejuvenated mind and body!
