On the day we visited, DH and I were the first customers of the day. We were cautioned that the first orders take just a little longer to fulfill as the kitchen is just getting started for the day. We sat at the huge wraparound windows, listened to Italian crooners on the sound system and people watched while we waited. DH ordered a pepperoni pie and I ordered the Fungi pie, a wood mushroom pizza and added sausage as advised on one of the signs in the restaurant. Delicious! As I understand it, the sauce, crust and real lemonade are all made by hand in house with specially filtered water. That certainly explains the epic taste. Our hostess was especially engaging. She noticed our license plates weren't local and we spent so much time chatting DH was afraid my food would get cold. This was a great experience and the best reason to support local businesses.

Gluten-free mushroom, spinach, and artichoke pizza

This is a delightful Gila Valley find. I had tried it before, but they were out of gluten free dough (the chef apologized that they'd had a delay in their caputo flour delivery--the special order secret ingredient in their dough). I had a salad, which was tasty, but didn't scratch the pizza itch. Fast forward a couple months and I found myself back in Safford. I was greeted warmly by the owner/hostess/waitress, who remembered the week they didn't have gluten-free flour and thanked me for returning. Before I looked at the menu, she warned me off the white sauces that are made with flour (I appreciated her being proactive on that so that I didn't get my heart set on something I couldn't have). I built my own mushrooms, spinach and artichoke cheese pizza. And...wow. Just wow. I was diagnosed celiac about 7 years ago, and this was the first pizza I've had that actually felt like pizza. It was delicious! I practically danced in my seat. I raved so much to the owner (wish i'd gotten her name) that she brought her husband/owner/chef (wish I'd gotten his name too!) to hear. He said it was important to him to get the proper "mouth-feel" and flavor so that everyone could enjoy the experience. This is next-level customer service. This will be my go-to restaurant whenever I'm in the Gila Valley. I need to go with more people, though, so that I can also try the garlic knots made with that delightful dough! It would be worth a detour wherever you are headed in south eastern AZ to enjoy the great food and warm hospitality of this hidden gem.

I came here because of the Yelp reviews and boy am I glad we did! Small place but they are expanding so that's good. Great pizza, beautiful light crust not too much sauce. Potato salad was great as well, just like mom's. Very friendly owner, I truly hope his business thrives!

Wonderful privately owned pizza place with a laid-back atmosphere Very polite and personable service. The food was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed the fresh made lemonade. Highly recommend.

    Pepperoni Pizza - "well done"

Best pizza around by a long shot! My wife and I found Fancy Pizzeria after reading some scuttlebutt online about the grand opening. We live quite a ways out of town, but figured it would be a nice date night in the big city. We were not disappointed. In fact, we were ecstatic to find this place. Not only was the food delectable, but the atmosphere was nice and chill, and the staff was friendly and warm. I had the regular pepperoni pizza "well done" because I like a crispier finish to my crust. My wife had the gluten free pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. She's probably a tougher critic than me, because most gluten free pizzas are hot and miss. She said this is her favorite pizza ever, and judging by her reaction after each bite, I know she's not lying It's been several months since our first visit and we have been back many times. We can't say enough good things about food, the ambiance, and the staff and owners. We love this place so much that we recommend it to our friends and family...and even the occasional stranger on the street. If you're looking through yelp reviews to help you decide which pizza place is best...save your time, stop reading this and go to Fancy Pizzeria. They have something for everyone. There are other mouthwatering items on the menu, but honestly, I love their pepperoni pizza and crust so much that I never try anything else.

Service was terrific! That was the positive to the experience. Drive thru pickup. I was able to add two bags of ice at the window. Amazing ice that doesn't melt quickly might I add. Friendly staff working. Slight wait behind another customer on arrival but in and out quickly overall. Why I'm in the middle... the food had so much left to be desired. Enjoyed the bread on the garlic knots but where was the garlic? I may have higher expectations of a stronger flavor? The marinara taste ok but was very thin. The pizzas were dry. I understand wood fired but there wasn't great flavor either. It was ok. Don't enjoy the lack of sizes and the price was a bit high for the pizza. I would have gotten extra cheese on the bambino because it felt like it was on half the pizza. We did get a free pizzookie because the order was over $50 but that's the downfall too. Two 12" pizzas w/1 extra veggie topping and garlic knots was $59 subtotal. Steep for what it was. Not bad, not great experience. Would try again hoping to have better outcome. There's sandwiches I had my eye on.

I also got a sugar-free Red Bull with mango syrup. I wanted the soup, but it's seasonal and doesn't start until October. The chicken bacon ranch wasn't bad, but I wasn't really blown away by it either. The pasta salad needs to be called "olive salad". There's so many olives in it, so so many! The cookie was the best part, not sure if they make them or get them from somewhere. Wish I knew where so I can order a ton of them! The Red Bull syrup wasn't bad I guess. I just wanted the Red Bull and decided to try the syrup flavor added. The young lady taking the order was very polite and patient. Nothing really caught my eye. Cool store inside though. Glad I tried it

The non-review review…read more.... Well, unfortunately, I only made it to the bathroom and I understand the restaurant is from 1966 and I love old things, however, this establishment was not a good fit for me. I happen to love old things; I love old Antiques, I love the old ways, I love old places , but when it comes to eating, I guess I'm a little on the picky side. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it to the booth or table because when I walked in, I walked right by a server who was sitting down at the counter which I was really excited about, I wanted to sit there because it reminded me of when my dad would take me out to the local Walgreens (or sandwich place) and we would get a little bite to eat and a sundae in a sundae glass!! Granted it is the lull of the day for a Saturday, but I was ignored and then I tried to get the attention of the guy behind the counter by walking straight past the server (whom I thought may have been off shift) but he also ignored me??? I'm not sure maybe he has a hearing impairment? I said, "excuse me " a couple of times and that's when the server Finally said she could help me. I have a sibling who is Deaf - I also know sign language so I'm not judging, I was just puzzled because I was completely ignored. It was very quiet by this time. The server who was sitting down on her phone maybe doing paperwork then turned to me to help. I asked if they were closed, thinking maybe I was too late since they were no hours posted on the door ? By this time, I had already driven over an hour or so to get here so a quick bathroom break was needed. I had seen another review that was positive online so I thought I would give it a try for a burger and some fries - pretty simple order. After going to the bathroom first and seeing the condition of the bathroom, I just decided it was not for me. I think I'm overly picky when it comes to restaurants, so I'm sure it's just me. For the first time, I decided not to take a chance and I'm seeking elsewhere to find a burger locally! I will say there were plenty of people that were here when I arrived, and they seemed happy, I just think I'm going to pass on this experience.

I ordered a burger on August 3rd 2026 dinner time and the first thing I noticed was the soaking wet bottom bun, I initially thought it might have been wet because the side pickle on my plate. Oh boy was I wrong. After the first few bites my tung contacted the bottom bun I was met with a spoiled rotten taste and as you can see, there is a wet gray sludge mark on the bottom that looks like it's been soaking for hours. If that wasn't bad enough, the paddy was completely burnt. If you care about your loved ones, please don't eat here

They have a huge screen TV at the back of the restaurant and a nice large bar, as well as the seating area. high tops as well as regular tables. This place is really big inside! Seems really perfect for a lot of people and all the staff seem happy. The server who took care of me as I walked inside was really nice. I didn't want to sit at the table that she chose and she gladly allowed me to sit wherever I wanted to. I'm not in a rush so I sat over towards the wall where I could see the TV screens. One of the things that I really like is they have condiments at each of the tables, which was convenient. I chose the fresh hand cut fries and I've been really wanting fresh zucchini, Amber assured me that it was Hand-battered and fresh so I'm hoping that that will be good. It's really comfortable in here and cool. Nice music, perfect volume. I'm so tempted to have a cocktail, but I'm not sure. The zucchini came out super fast and super hot! You can absolutely tell that they were just hand-battered and fresh. I like all the little crispies too. The zucchini is really hot and a very light breading. It's really hard nowadays to find like fresh fried zucchini. I really liked it! The ranch is good too! There's a whole vibe in here and it's really positive!! The staff was attentive to people walking in, it was really nice to see considering my experience 30 minutes prior. I like the amount of veggies on the burger,Lots of fries. I got a lunch special, it was a great deal with my drink included. Amber took care of me and she was very attentive, friendly and shared a little bit of history with me. Servers matter. She took great care of me! She informed me this building was a Golden Corral where the current owner worked in his youth, later buying the building and turning it into JDs Grill. This visit was a win, definitely giving it a thumbs up and I am excited to come back and try their bone-in Wings! They do have happy hour specials and I absolutely do recommend the fried zucchini! The outside Sitting area seems nice, but I think I'll wait until it cools down to visit out there! Overall, it was a nice experience and they may be doing something for the Justin Gaethje fight Celebration that will be coming up here this year! Stay tuned!

Misty was my server and she was very pleasant and checked on me often. She recommended the chicken tenders basket, so I ordered it. Tenders, fries and a soft drink included for $15+. Score. 4% cash discount. The dining room was clean and quiet, it was well past the lunch hour. My food came out hot and fresh. It was good. My only complaint was I paid cash and was given change for the credit card price. I didn't get the 63 cents discount. Small issue but annoying. I wasn't going to bother her for the change. I left all that I received for her tip. Will I return? probably not, the menu was not that intriguing to me and the atmosphere was typical sports bar and a bit dark.
