Great food and service. Super quick and tasty. They even hooked me up with a free special roll.

First things first, the service was immaculate. The staff was friendly, quick, patient and answered all of our questions. They were prompt on refills and boxes. We were seated within 2 minutes of arriving despite having a full table and the place was spotless. The tables were clean, the floor was clean, and despite its small location it didn't feel cramped. The only complaint I have about the place itself was the other guests were obnoxiously loud and nothing was done about it. Not talking wise but I mean watching videos on their phones loud. The food however was a hit and a miss. My group and I shared our dishes so we could try multiple things. While the plating was beautiful and clean the menu was sparse on information and relied heavily on you knowing what these dishes were beforehand or asking questions. The hibachi was wonderful, very flavorful and well cooked and arrived within minutes. The soup and salad was fresh and probably the best part of the entire meal. The sushi however, which is what this place is known for according to those we asked beforehand, was the worst part of the meal. The second worst sushi I've ever had actually (the worst being Publix). The fish was soggy and flavorless, to the point it was literally sliding off the rice and many of us just abandoned it altogether. Usually I can tell what type of fish I'm eating from one bite. I could not with Fancy Q. ETA: I forgot to mention the sushi also took a very long time to arrive. Over 30 minutes. Overall I feel the best parts were the service and soup/salad. I am uncertain if I would go back. Perhaps with a large group again but not on my own. I would be willing to try different locations. read more

This place has indescribably amazing sushi. And idk what it is but there water taste like it just came from the glaciers of Antarctica. If you go you have to get there dynamite rolls. Absolute perfection. And the food is surprisingly quick, if your ordering, or eating there. read more

Fancy Q is our go-to place when we are on a sushi-mood! Quiet and low key, not fancy at all, located in a quiet strip mall- don't let any of this fool you- the quality of food is TOP NOTCH! Service is always super speedy and very attentive. I love that they always bring you a FREE appetizer-- some kind of deep fried krab with a creamy sauce- not sure what it's called- but I know it's delicious! Few poor things can be said about Fancy Q! From DoorDash orders to sitting down to eat, they really go above and beyond! To begin with, I discovered Fancy Q while working for DoorDash- they are a super popular pickup spot and are nearly always right on time with orders, so that I am able to just walk in, grab the order, and be on my way. For me, this already marks it as a pretty good restaurant because they're clearly efficient. Then I finally went in person to eat there with a friend. Right after we sat down they served us a special sushi roll on the house, as well as miso soup! That alone was super awesome. And the rest of the sushi we ordered was just as superb. The philly roll was soft and like heaven in my mouth. The rainbow roll was just divine with some spicy mayo. And the crab rangoons were crunchy, creamy and just how they should be. My friend is now obsessed with Fancy Q, and keeps saying it's the best sushi she's ever had, so however you want to take that. I've also been on the receiving end of a DoorDash order from these guys, and it came exactly as expected in pristine and tasty condition. We love getting the Naruto maki and Oceanside roll. We love that the Naruto maki is wrapped in cucumber slices and choice of fish and cream cheese! We've had this multiple places and this is our favorite place to eat it. The ocean side roll has so much flavor and it is of our favorites. our kids love the chicken pad Thai and we get extra and it is the perfect amount of savory stirfry noodles . Fancy Q is a gem in Lakeland people take for granted. The food is amazing!!! It's so considerate that they give you the free Eddie special and free clear soup every time you dine in, it's like a thank you for choosing us gesture that I appreciate so much. I saw a review saying they "forgot to put miso in the miso soup" ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE MISO SOUP!!! Anyways, the prices are amazing I was surprised to see how low the bill was considering how top tier their food is they really have something for everyone on here. I also saw in a review saying "they didn't give them utensils" the chopsticks are always stocked up and ready at your table if you fail to know how to use chopsticks just politely ask your waitress and they will give you the silverware that you need, no trouble! The worker at front today was very positive and sweet and politely greets guests and makes me and my friend feel very welcomed and cared for, all the servers are very polite. Don't come to the south side location. . . . 2/10 service. We were seated and wasn't given a water or a menu till 10mins after. Were they busy? There wasn't many people there. Had takeout twice. First time was great, I give it 5 stars. Second takeout was a joke, I give it a 1 star. The problem with the 2nd time was that our order was stuffed in a box too small and everything was squished beyond recognition. Absolutely ruined our meal. 'Having past this location numerous times since its opening, we were pleasantly surprised to learn this location does have a few tables for eat-in. We mistakenly thought it was strictly Take-Out due to its relatively small size. Nevertheless, we ordered Pad Thai To-Go....Our only mistake was that we were not asked the normal "How Spicey do you want your Pad Thai?" Due to that error and my forgetfulness in my haste to order, we failed to ask for "spicey" so we got rather Mild Pad Thai, which we will not fail to remember on our next visit.
