Our experience was the owners took a great deal of time at check out to ensure we were fully informed about all aspects of ownership (vet check, registration, feeding, potential for deworming, etc). Our veterinarian was very complimentary of our puppies health. There was a need to treat for worms but we expected that. The owners were very nice and caring. Our experience was positive and we would recommend evaluating this business for your own needs. We love our puppy. We are retired and she has given us hours of smiles and laughter. Black Pine is an overlooked attraction in the northeast Indiana area. The Fort Wayne zoo gets the…read morepublicity. However, Black Pine has a different purpose, process and attraction. Black Pine is located in Albion - near Kendalville and the Chain O Lakes areas. Their purpose is to rescue distressed wild life, bring them back to health and give the animals a place to live out their days. The animal's habitats tries closely replicate their original habitat...well...as much as their private funding and Indiana landscape will allow. The caged settings do their best to get you close to the animals without stressing the animal out - which is a major part of their focus. Most all these animals were rescued from some sort of poor conditions. Those situations tend to be private citizens, in the US, that abused the animals and were forced to turn over the animals. Many had to be nursed back to health. We participated in the $20 3-5p Saturday private feeding tour. The group had about 30 people. The two tour guides were excellent. They shared stories about each animal, how it got there, the health issues and rehab process. They gave us info to let you know what these animals need to thrive. Also covered were the extinction status of the animals, the current legislation issues and the geo economic-political environment that shapes these animals lives. Black Pine feed the animals to try and draw them out of their shelters. They don't force them out perhaps like a zoo. Most all the animals came out and made an appearance. Only a few of them could be observed eating. The warning for small children was probably over played as there wasn't hardly any sensitive feeding situations. The tour is a lot of walking with almost no places to sit and rest. Be prepared with water. You will find the animals to be accessible and amazing. Many came out so they could easily be seen. The tigers have to be the main attraction as they are incredible creatures.

Located about 40 minutes…read morenorth west of Fort Wayne, the sanctuary is home to many different species who come to them from captivity. Here, they are provided a home for the rest of their lives and people can visit to learn about responsible care and conservation. I took the basic tour, which lasts nearly two hours. Our guide, Lowell, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of background on the animals. I was surprised to find that four of their tigers were rescued from the Tiger King's facility and now live there. This is a great place and I highly encourage people to visit and help the sanctuary by donations as that's the only way they can operate outside of grant funding.

Most of the doggy daycare places we knew required a prior evaluation before they would allow the animal to be boarded as well as all of their information (shots, vets ... ). On the way there, we received a call that one of our parishioners was being flown to a hospital in South Bend in serious condition and we were being requested to be with the family. After explaining this to the kind people at The Truth About Dogs, they took the information we had concerning vaccinations and allowed us to leave Finnegan with them while we kept going to South Bend. While they had him, they did their evaluations and took EXTREMELY good care of our little landshark (he's only 8 months old at this point and going through the bratty, everything I find is mine to destroy, stage). * Will we be back? YES!! * Will we use them for anything other than daycare when we are in town? YES! It's about 40 mil;es each way and we have signed up for obedience classes beginning in a few weeks. The stalls, arenas, aisles, paddocks, tack room, lounge, bathroom are always clean and tidy. Everything is easily accessible; i.e., brooms, muck buckets and rakes, trash bins, extra ropes and halters. There are beautiful trails on the property to enjoy all year round. The barn owner and manager, Hannah, lives onsite. She updates the boarders frequently regarding their horses well-being. Whether it's incoming in-climate weather, a health concern, and everything in between, Hannah keeps in contact consistently with the horse owners to keep us updated and informed. She is an honest, responsible barn owner and has the horses/owners best interests in mind. The staff at FTC are wonderful and I am very grateful for them! They are so friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy. I appreciate that Hannah's children help around the property as well. They are always respectful and helpful. I enjoy talking with them about what they are most excited about that day. I was very green when I started my lessons with Hannah in summer of 2017. I have learned so much and continue to learn every week. Hannah is patient and takes the time explain to make sure I understand. She also helped me with the purchase of my horse who is boarded at FTC. Faith Training Center offers excellent horse training as well. I had a few issues addressed with my horse and I was updated on his progress regularly. I noticed a significant difference after just a short time in the training program. Hannah hosts so many fun activities at the barn quite often. She organizes trail rides, obstacle course rides, fun competitions, barn shows, clinics, potlucks, and bonfires for the boarders! They are always a blast! I truly feel like I have a 2nd family at FTC, my barn family! Jack and I love Faith Training Center! Opal is the sweetest girl. She was delivered to me in Laurel, Maryland on Friday, April 19th. She's…read moremade my apartment a home. There hasn't been a dull moment since she arrived. Opal is super friendly and loves being the center of attention. On our twice daily walks, she always seeks out her favorites: Adrian (the lifeguard from Colombia, South America who just graduated college with a degree in engineering), Cynthia (the concierge who works this second job to support her daughter through college) and Roy (the friendliest and best neighbor). I've lived in my community since June 22, 2022. Because of Opal, I get out to daily walk by the pool, bbq grills, our mini dog park and all parts of our community and have met the most amazing people. Opal is an extrovert to my introvert. Everyone loves her and thinks she's adorable. She's also very smart. Whether at the dog park, restaurant, dog trainer or veterinarian, all love Opal and she demands their attention as she runs to them and stands up their leg for petting or gallops, hops and chases them (dogs too) on our walks. Opal has even Facetimed with Adrian the lifeguard's mother who is in Colombia, South America. She said that Opal is a beautiful dog. Working with Fernweh Schnauzers was really good. They promised a well socialized puppy and I got my Opal. Everything was easy from deposit to delivery. And once Opal is soon spayed and her hernia fixed, they've promised to reimburse me for the hernia surgery without me even asking. They told me about the surgery before she arrived on 4/19/2024. If you want to adopt an adorable miniature schnauzer, I only recommend that you adopt from this family and you'll fall in love like I have with Opal. All love Opal. I love her most.
