Great local market with friendly staff, fresh products, great service and excellent selection!

Unfortunately, FM has gone downhill. I got a Tom's Treat on sourdough bread and the sandwich had two thin slices or turkey a small scoop of stuffing and cranberry sauce. Needless to say-very disappointed. Not the sandwiches of years past. I have been going to FM for over 20 years. It was great when the Smith family operated it with their other two markets. The meats and butcher are still very good as are the prepaid meals. Prices have gone up on everything so I don't hold that against them as prices have increased everywhere. FM is now a last resort option instead of a first option for sandwiches. read more

I walked in and went to the deli I was poorly greeted when ordering when the deli person said okay what do you want I think I akready know. Once I got my food there was spit on it and hair I will never come back to this trashy junk place again. Sandwich was also smushed and dry And the place was very dirty. read more

I've been coming to this little market the last 2 years, I was really sad to arrive and not see the young African American girl working behind the deli counter, I hear she is still there but she should be there more. Grab and go sandwiches could use some improvement or be cheaper. Very similar to supermarket sandwiches.

I'm giving this place a 2 star simply because I waited 45 minutes for 2 deli sandwiches that quite frankly sucked, sorry, they were busy and must've rushed them I guess, it happens. I understand a sandwich shop can be busy on the weekend but waiting 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches is absurd... I did not place this order over the phone or online, I placed it at the deli counter. I'm in the cape trying to enjoy the weekend. I don't have the time to stand and wait 45 minutes for my deli sandwiches. I hope this review isn't too harsh I'm just sharing my experience. In Osterville and the surrounding area this is THE place! Always crowded, charming, great selection, great deli counter, great sandwiches. It feels like a little old-fashioned country grocery store (which it is). Narrow aisles, crowed shelves and general chaos add to the quaintness. The staff is friendly and a little brusque, and I think it adds to the charm. You can load up on veggies, coffees, pies, spices, or enjoy the large selection of freshly made sandwiches and salads. I had an amazing grilled roast beef and caramelized onion sandwich on marble rye, and nearly fainted from delight it was so delicious. read more

Been going here for years. Has always been a great little sandwich shop. It has been slipping over the last few years. Today with 2 people in line I waited 20 minutes for my wrap. An outstanding convenience store with a full service deli counter and miles of alcohol for your summer Cape pleasure. Artisan breads and swanky cheeses, prepackaged salames and spreads-a-go-go mean you can order a sammy there or get the guts to build one at home, although for sake of experimentation, try the former. The Cuban actually fares seriously well, and even though the pork is thick cut, it's still tender as all get out. Fancy's owns the market on, well, markets and can therefore kick up the connah store prices to pretty much whatever they'd like. Still fair if a bit lofty, but one bite of their Italian cold cut sanguiche and you'll forget what you just spent on snack foods. Did I mention Tate's Bake Shop cookies? Just did. Stellar variety, full package and evidently there isn't an Ostervillain who doesn't stop by on the weekly. A total institution. read more

Some items are a bit pricy. Their subs are worth the cost. Their roast beef sub is particular fantastic.

I wish i could give this place zero stars. I have never written a yelp review before but this place needs to get their act together. I came in with my siblings and my baby to order a few sandwiches. They were out of everything we ordered caramelized onions, meatballs, the Oville, and Greek dressing. This is the second time I've been and they've had zero of what we wanted. Not only this but they were not out of the ingredients of the oville just the panini bread and instead of saying we can make it on another type of bread the guy at the front said we don't have it and the guy making sandwiches yelled "NO OVILLES". The guy making the sandwiches then in return said to us " maybe if you came in an hour ago!!" With an attitude. I'm sorry we didn't know you'd run out of a whole bunch of stuff? In total we ordered 5 sandwiches when they handed us the sandwiches they handed us 3. When my sister said we ordered five sandwiches the guy rolled his eyes she told him what we were missing including a foxhole he then said well it's going to be awhile i have to make the sandwich from scratch. My sister said that's fine he then said no like I'm going to have to chop stuff up and everything again with an attitude. Never have i experienced such terrible customer service. Will most definitely not be returning. UPDATE: when we got back home one sandwich looked like they had dipped the whole thing in Russian dressing literally drenched!! One of the ovilles was not toasted as requested and made with turkey instead of chicken, and the sandwich he claimed he had to "chop everything" for it came with just meat and a little leaf of lettuce on it. The hours list that Fancy's is open until 7pm, but beware; the deli stops making sandwiches at 5. We got there exactly at 5, end of discussion. We were told somewhat rudely without a preceding,"I'm sorry but...." This unfortunately seems to be the attitude of many employees here, I always feel like I am an inconvenience to them. You could not dream up ruder staff or more terrible food. The sandwich my boyfriend ordered had a hunk of plastic in it!! We waited over over 30 minutes for said sandwiches and while there they would not let me use their restroom and told me to walk to the speedway-which was 1/4 mike away. THEN, when we went to the register to pay for a 12 pack of beer they wouldn't let us purchase it because my sister didn't have her ID with her. She is 30 and very visibly pregnant--wtf?! Great place with even better charm! They have every necessity you would need! Wether it be creamer or some fresh fruit. They also have prepared hot meals, lunches, and coffee! The only down side is that parking is limited and it is always crowded there, but definitely something you should check out! :) read more

A very nice market. A decent deli area with cold cuts and ready to cook steaks and chickens as well as a pretty good lunch counter. Things are a tad pricy here, it is Osterville, but some things are worth it. The Steak pinwheels pre-made to cook are excellent and wherever they get their pastries from are to die for. If they do make them in-house than kudos to them! There is also a beer/wine/spirits section as well. Also, fresh produce and general food items to shop through. A really good store for fresh food but beware of the prices. read more

Best general store. They sell excellent wine, meat, and various groceries. They are the friendliest most gracious, helpful people. I feel so welcome when I go in there. They have bent over backwards to help me find products, order the wine I like. What a nice family owned store. read more

This place has everything you need for any meal. Also a great beer and wine selection. The meats are quality and the burgers are fantastic. They have plenty of options for the grill. Lot's of marinated meats and pre-made burgers, etc. Deli is great for lunch. Prices are not what you would expect for a small market. Everything is reasonable and competitive with local stores. I love the look and concept of Fancys but that's where it ends. I was willing to overlook the bland tuna sandwiches with a lame outer piece of romaine served to us by a guy who looks like he would rather be anywhere else. I also was willing to ignore how detached and unhappy the cashiers are when dealing with them. The final straw was the slop we bought tonight that they call veggie lasagna and the eggplant parmigiana over ziti. The lasagna had hard veggies and a sauce that looked like puke. The ziti that accompanied the eggplant was without any type of sauce. Money wasted and a supper ruined. Thanks Fancys. I could not agree more with Curtis J and May S. I had a horrific experience recently. So much so that I took to social media on the assumption that my experience could not have been unique: It was that bad. Gentleman behind the deli- in his 50s, salt and pepper hair- was hostile and confrontational with absolutely no prompting. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the sales clerk who just looked at me blankly as if she has heard it a thousand times. This store was a gem under past ownership, filled with smiling and helpful staff. I had been a patron for 10 years. Now it is nothing more than an overpriced market with a very bad vibe. Stay away. It's packed during lunchtime throughout the summer, and with good reason - Fancy's serves some of the tastiest subs in the mid Cape. If you hate waiting on line, call ahead. Then, when going to pick up your order, leave yourself some time to browse their wine section, as well as the fresh produce. The market is a bit too small for a full shopping excursion, but makes for an excellent opportunistic acquisition or two. We're fortunate to live less than 4 miles away in Centerville. read more

Even if you don't live in osterville, it's worth the drive to pick up a sandwich from their deli. I love both the chicken salad & tuna salad, while my beau prefers roast beef. This has been incorrectly classified by a convenience store by others. However, that is not the case. It's a tiny local market featuring the finest cheeses, wines, baked goods, deli selection, fresh produce, and kitchen staples in the area. They have a full service deli counter, plus premade salads, so you can grab some lunch on your way to or from the beach. You can get pretty much anything and everything here. And others have complained about the prices, but you get what you pay for. This weekend I grabbed a loaf of homemade cinnamon streusel bread, which was just $3.99. You can't even get an Entenmann's for $3.99! And it was mindbogglingly delicious. We ate the whole thing almost in one sitting. Really the only con is parking, which is deplorable.
