I was so glad to have gotten the opportunity to meet the owner Jesse Peet. He was just too kind and gave me some fudge making knowledge. He gave me some complimentary fudge as well. The Rocky Road fudge I bought didn't make it to my vehicle as it was devoured. The shop is set up so perfectly with all sorts of confections from yesteryear to today's delectable treats. There are daily homemade chocolates displayed in cases as Well as beverages in a cold case. They have a website and are on Facebook as well. We ended up buying a bag called. Don't poke the bear. This was caramel popcorn with cashews. Amazing! We got down the roadways before we opened it to realize that we should've bought more. When we got back to South Carolina, we ended up ordering eight bags to be delivered. There was some confusion with our order the owner, Jolie, was gracious and sent our order promptly after we got the confusion straightened out. This is a cute small business and very, definitely worth your attention! We ordered the cheddar popcorn (7/ 10) , movie theater popcorn(10/10), sea salt, caramel popcorn(10/10) and the "don't poke the bear" popcorn(15/10). I would definitely order from them again. Instead of posting about how delicious the treats are at Taffy's, I'm the one who will be telling about the HORRIBLE SERVICE and EXTREMELY RUDE AND NASTY behavior by the blonde female who works there... I went there to buy some popcorn for my homebound neighbor and ordered two Medium-sized popcorn boxes. One Cinnamon-flavored and one Cheese-flavored popcorn and a drink. The female walked over to the popcorn area, yelled over her shoulder, TWICE, "Open or closed?" I answered, TWICE, "Open please." After paying for my items, I went to my car, and realized that the box which was SUPPOSED to contain CHEESE-flavored popcorn was full of Caramel corn instead. So, I went back inside, and found the other employee, a MUCH NICER brunette to be alone in the store. She asked if there was a problem, and I told her that I had ordered Cheese popcorn but received Caramel instead. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the other blonde employee yelled form the back of the far room, "I asked you twice and you said, caramel!" As she ANGERLY STOMPED out of the back to 'confront' me, she again yelled, "You said caramel!" I said, "My neighbor cannot have sugar, so I would have NEVER ordered caramel popcorn for her. I ordered cheese-flavored." She SHOVED a bag of popcorn at me and I went back to my car, only to CLEARLY see that she had PURPOSELY handed me a SMALL-SIZED bag of popcorn, when I was supposed to have a Medium-sized BOX. Again, I returned to the store and told the brunette I had the wrong size box of popcorn, and again, the blonde HAG yelled from the back room, "That IS a medium!" I showed the brunette BOTH the and bag of popcorn so she could see that CLEARLY the boxed Cinnamon corn was MUCH larger than the tiny bag of cheese corn. Before the brunette could respond, the blonde continued to yell (from the back room) that I was wrong, and the size was a Medium, even though it was CLEARLY NOT. I knew I was getting nowhere, so instead of ending up in jail, I left, frustrated, angry and disappointed. This COWARD of a female should NOT be allowed to work anywhere NEAR other humans or animals UNTIL she receives PROPER training in how to treat others RESPECTFULLY, NOT FEEL THE NEED TO CONTROL EVERY SITUATION AND HOW WRONG IT IS TO RIP PEOPLE OFF. I noticed she ONLY yelled at me because she was in the far back room or behind a counter...STUPID girl. Sooner or later, that counter and back room will NOT protect you if you continue to treat customers this way. Your boss may not notice that your cash drawer is not consistent with your sales either, but it WILL catch up to you someday. You got your money and your moment to 'show-off' in front of the other customers. I hope your parents are proud of you, SCRUB.

We were trying to recover from the physical indignity of ascending a mountain high enough that oxygen was treated as a luxury commodity. The government of Colorado apparently believes that every settlement in the entire state requires an abundant supply of frozen dairy. If true, this is an enlightened public policy. The shop was completely empty when we arrived. A lone young man stood behind the counter because his coworker was on break. He did not look at us with the despair usually reserved for a sudden crowd. He simply smiled and began scooping with the enthusiastic efficiency of a soldier waiting for reinforcements. I purchased a double scoop containing Salted Peanut Butter Cup and a flavor called Moose on the Loose. The second flavor contained enormous chunks of fudge that were buried deep within the cream like forgotten treasure. It was exactly the sort of heavy molecular fuel a human body requires after arguing with a giant rock. There was also a glass cooler filled with vintage sodas. Nostalgia routinely robs my wallet before my intellect can mount a defense. I purchased an RC Cola and spent ten minutes explaining to the members of our group born in the 90's that there was a time in human history when cola came in more than two respectable varieties. The ice cream was excellent and my history lesson was free. If you find yourself in Manitou Springs with tired lungs, you could do a great deal worse.
