I recently had a car purchase that did not turn out way Gary or I wished it to. Things happen and Gary and I discussed this before he left for vacation. They are in the process of buying it back but that has been a very uncomfortable feeling. They have my keys, they have the truck, they asked me to not cancel insurance. I do not have any receipts from them, they Have over $9,000 deposit. They did call my insurance at my request and my insurance to let them know they are in the process of paying it off, and once they have title I will be refunded all my investment. I just wish they gave that in writing. I do trust them but again, I feel it is not professional to not supply me with some kind of paperwork but I know they took have to protect themselves. They said to go cancel my plates but I can not even do that without proof from them I no longer own vehicle. They needed to tell me wait to do that too. All other dealers if a car has been turned in cause of excess mechanical issues or change of mind have always provided paperwork stating they took posession of car . I have never heard of me having to keep the insurance until they have title when they have the car not me. I know if Gary were in town this would be handled in a bit more respectful calm caring way with a better paper trail for all , not just for them. It is clear they do not want me back as a customer, is how I being made to feel at this time. I still believe they have good cars and they do their best to check them out. I know they put much into them to have them safe on the road. Cars can have issues. and they were great to respect that fact with this one after many attempts to make it right. I wish I could just give a neutral status and truly that is what it is until I have all my money back. This is a simple paperwork hell and I think it is new for all of us... so just be sure you have any car you purchase from any where checked out. Gary's team is great but these cars these days are computers, so even the greatest of techs can not predict what unfolded with this one. The crazy glitches with this one may or may not have been found out. They do rock for the fact they are purchasing it back and making me whole again. I just can not give the 5 stars I orginally did cause there has just been a bit of unease in this paperwork trail and waited return of my money. And again, they made a huge exception so I am sure it is just protocol to protect all. I have Much gratitude for them. Much more peace will be when I have the large investment back. Just sad I am made to feel they do not want me back. :( .. And it may just be till this mess is cleared up and maybe my expections or hopes are truly too high for the price range my budget is. Still give them a chance cause they do have integrity... just need to work on paperwork trail and communication a bit on these unique issues. But we are all learning thru it together, It is a lesson for us all. And they are doing well considering. I am just sad it did not work out cause it is a very beautiful truck. Gary and his team strive to get the best for the price range. Hope my honest reviews help you choose the best dealership to help you find the best car. Gary's group may still be it for you. I hope so cause inspite this paperwork hell and delay they still rock. In great gratitude they are of integrity!

I've contacted the customer service, corporate, finance departments and have been told, my car's VIN number doesn't exist in the system! They can't find any information on me using my name and social security number either. I need the title in order to sell the car!

On March 24, 2026, I contacted Napleton Kia in Lansing, Illinois, to inquire about a new Telluride…read more I spoke with a salesperson named Peggy and requested pricing on the vehicle, along with a breakdown of taxes, title, and registration fees. I explained that we were very motivated buyers and, if we could agree on a price, we were prepared to purchase the car that same week. I eventually received the numbers, which included a $999 dealer add-on for pinstripes and door guards. Shortly after, I received a voicemail from Tony, the General Manager of Sales, confirming an 8:00 p.m. appointment to see the car. He stated it would be cleaned and ready for us. Since we had not yet decided to move forward, I called him back to explain that we were still considering the purchase and would not be coming in, as I did not want them to go to unnecessary trouble. During that call, I asked if the $999 add-on could be removed, as we were not interested in it. Tony stated that it was a mandatory fee. I explained that this was a deal-breaker for me, and he then suggested we "split" the cost at $500 each. I countered with an offer that was $2,000 below his quoted price and asked if they would consider it. He declined. I informed him that I had another deal pending--on a higher trim level--at a better price, and told him that if anything changed, he had my number and could reach out. After the call ended, Tony apparently believed he had hung up, but the line remained connected. He proceeded to call me a "mooch" and an "f-ing mooch" multiple times while speaking to a coworker. He also accused me of lying about the competing offer, which I had in writing. Once he finished, I disconnected the call and immediately called him back. I told him that I had heard every word he said and advised him that if he was going to speak about customers in such an insulting manner, he should ensure the phone is properly disconnected. Not only were his comments offensive, but they also reflected a lack of professionalism. Initially, he denied making the statements and insisted he would never speak that way about a customer. However, when I repeated his comments verbatim, he then claimed he had been referring to someone else. I responded that, regardless, it was inappropriate to speak about any customer in that manner. All I had done was present an offer I was comfortable with--something he was free to accept or decline. Instead, I was spoken about as though I had done something wrong, despite the dealership adding a $999 package that I neither wanted nor could remove. Based on this experience, it is clear that Napleton places little value on its customers--the very people who support their business. Over the years, I have purchased four Lincoln vehicles from Napleton, but I will not be doing business with them again.
