The truck was clean, and the movers, handled special packing on a few items, and thankfully we no breakage whatsoever. I had a small move , it was just me and it was my first apartment. I guess they took this opportunity to over charge me like crazy. I only had a few boxes and some bags of clothes. No furniture. It took 1 hour total for the move. 30 mins to load then 30 to unload. I was charged 425$ which I think is outrageous and a scam. Then one of the movers kept asking personal questions about my apartment and making rude statements like you're moving up in the world huh" I was with Ernie and some other young guy. Then ended up with a 32" tv not being able to be turned on. Ridiculous. read more

It takes a leap of faith to hire a mover. We entrust them with our most valuable possessions. Like many people, we had to move a house full of carefully chosen and inherited belongings. This was a very complex move and we were terrified that we would be another chapter in that very large book of Moving Horror Stories. Yeah, these stories are amusing at cocktail parties, no so much when it's your turn to move. What a relief we chose Fantastic Moves. Before the move, we got a prompt response, a fair quote and practical advice that really helped reduce our "move anxiety." On move day, the trucks and crew arrived right on time (what tha...?). The lead guy was great and it was clear he was thoroughly prepped about our move and our concerns (see above "move anxiety" reference). We had a great experience with Fantastic Moves. Hiring these guys was a great decision. Frank and Quentin were really careful with our furniture and very professional. My husband had to work for most of the morning, so I was on my own for a while. So these guys needed to do extra stuff that my husband would have done if he were there. When my husband got home (he trusts nobody and has very low expectations of moving companies) he was very impressed by these guys. Things that we thought were important: 1- 60 inch tv- They moved it, and It arrived unscratched! pheww! 2- They were really careful with our furniture. They wrapped everything. They were more careful with our furniture then I would have been. :) 3- They disconnected and connected our washer and dryer. They even let us know about small issues with our new apartment that we hadn't noticed. So we were able to call maintenance and get it taken care of quickly. 4- They carry more than the state required insurance, just in case they do damage something. Luckily, nothing was damaged though. But it was comforting to know it was there. Overall, it was a great experience. We've tried other moving companies before, and were severely disappointed and were scared to do it again. We were stood up twice and never even called back with an explanation. This company was on time! We bought these guys lunch and asked them to take a break to eat. They didnt try to charge us for that break. Honesty is nice. It goes along way. :) PS.... moving will be easier if you use alot of small boxes. They get heavier than you think... or at least what I thought they would be. If you want to use a large box for clothes or blankets... no big deal... but seriously... use small boxes. :) read more

I have been going back in fourth with the owner Nick since and keep getting the run around. I'm very disappointed on this matter. I know the boxes made it on the truck because they were the first thing put on but they never made it to our new home. I'm currently still waiting for another call back from Nick about it and if there will be any compensation for the missing items. This company is very aptly named. The moving crew we had yesterday was truly fantastic. A delightful bunch of guys who were very careful moving objects through doorways so there were no nicks on any surface -- professional! They placed runners to protect the floors and were cordial, polite, and efficient even at the end of the 6 hour+ move. They put everything exactly where we needed it in our new home -- even after we changed our minds few times -- and always with a smile and a "no problem." Love that that took things for donation to various charities-- even appliances. Calls to the company were always handled courteously by Jane, who was could very well answer all our questions cheerfully and with much patience. Price for everything was quite reasonable and definitely fair. Trucks were very clean. What a well-run company with excellent management. So glad we chose this company over others. Dishonest is the word that sums it up for us. If you're interested in more details, I have the original quote (which is why we chose them) and the final bill, which was more than 2 x's the quoted amount as proof positive. They triple/quadruple wrapped EVERYTHING (yes, including plastic/non-breakable items) to milk the time - thus the end price. We were moving from a 3 bedroom / 2 1/2 bath home and were fully packed beforehand. Why it would take 4 movers and 9 hours is beyond me. Oh wait, they spent more time shrink wrapping things than actually moving things. Now I get it. I will not be using them again nor would I ever recommend them to any of my friends or family. I see that they have received high ratings from others and I just wish I had experienced the same as they had. Unfortunately I must be outlier and now i'm out $2500 when quoted $995. read more

What can I say other than FANTASTIC!! My girlfriend and I moved from Arlington to Dallas and we had a 2 bed 2 bath, about 1200 SQ FT. to move. Our boxes were ready and everything was in order for the two guys we hired from Fantastic Moves. They were in and working right away and the time quote they gave me of 9:30AM was met perfectly, which I rarely see when I hire movers. I move a lot, I am talking like once a year and I have moved about 8 times in ten years and these guys by far were the best I have ever come across. When I first called to set up the move, I called at like 4:55PM on a weekday. They close at 5PM, and Dave answered the phone very joyful. I expected everyone to be gone for the day since I usually see businesses closing up before the time stated on the door or the website, which to me is a bad sign for any business. Dave setup the move and asked all the important questions. He sounded very enthused to be helping me, and prideful of his profession. After I set up the move about 3 weeks out, I then received emails from other staff members (Parrish, Jane, and Francey) to confirm everything was on schedule which left me very confident and assured. The day of the move two guys named Marcus and Jose I believe showed up and got straight to work. They weren't messing around, talking on their phones, or anything that would take away from the hourly rate I was quoted which made me feel that my time is important to them. The move was about a 30 mile drive and there was easy to and from directions that they already had in hand, in fact they beat me there and I left before them. So that showed me that they know the best routes to take that doesn't slow down production time. There was an initial travel of $100.00, and that seemed a bit high, but after reading other amazing reviews it is a small price to pay to have the best! Overall, a two bedroom 2 bath got moved (without appliances) in 4 hours and 15 minutes. That to me is what shocked me as I was estimating 6 hours at least. to have two movers I was charged $100.00 per hour not counting the travel charge and all in all the bill came out to only $548.00! That was really a great price considering everything was handled with care and literally nothing was chipped scratched or broken. I gave the guys what I consider a good tip at $70.00 each, and I saved $150.00 from my original personal estimate. Which is almost 30% off. The really great things (Wow factors) I noticed during the move was that Dave, one of the owners showed up at my move address with gatorade for the guys and even helped with a couple boxes on his way up to my 4th floor apt. He introduced himself and thanked me for choosing Fantastic Moves to service me. I have never seen this sort of customer service anyplace with any moving company. That showed me that Dave takes great pride in making sure things are moving in the right direction and likes to earn referrals and repeat business. The final wow factor I noticed was at the very end of the move Jose and Marcus asked me to follow them to the truck so that I can go inside the truck to make absolute sure that they got everything. This is another small and important idea that I have never seen any moving company offer. Even though I knew just by how professional the company and staff are that nothing was left in the truck, I of course went into the truck and looked around and they did have everything out. Overall, extremely please with an excellent job well done. I have since gave out strong referrals for Fantastic Moves and will continue to do so. The only good thing I could say is that they took really good care of my furniture. They quoted me (1) price but movers quoted me 600.00 more they refused to move my refrigerator told me I needed to call a plumber. My son came in and unhooked, drained it with no problem. They did not utilize my storage space which caused me to have rent an extra unit, now I have (2) units I'm paying storage fees on. Before leaving the house I ask them were they going to follow me their response was that they had the address. We left the house at the same time, I had to set at the storage facility almost 25 minutes waiting on them to arrive and they charged me for that. We had Greg and Brandon move our stuff, and they did an amazing job. They were both very professional, friendly, and careful with our things. It was a very hot and humid day, and they had to carry things up and down stairs, but they still maintained a quick pace for the duration of the move. I was very impressed with their speed and diligence. We're still in the process of unpacking, but so far everything seems intact, including some fragile items that I could have probably done a better job packing. There was a slight misunderstanding before the move got started-- they estimated a four hour move based on the size of our place. I don't think we have more things than most people, but it ended up taking significantly longer, which cost us more than planned. I don't think this was intentional, and they took 45 minutes off the price to help remedy the problem. We should probably have had three guys working instead of two, but they weren't able to find someone else on a Saturday with such short notice. The staff at the company were all very professional and attentive. Ideally, they would have come out to see how much stuff we had before giving us a time estimate, but I also think that's a bit unrealistic for a moving company to do when they make bids, so maybe they need to make some adjustments to the way they make time estimates. Overall, I feel like the quality of service made up for this inconvenience, but I think it's important for anyone to budget for more than the quote, just in case. I chose Fantastic Moves because I'd had an absolutely terrible experience with another moving company before, and this company seemed to value customer service based on their interactions with previous customers on Yelp. They really seem to aim to please, and the guys they hired were great to work with. They showed up 20mins early, completed a 2 bedroom, 2nd story apartment move in 3 hours which is what I was quoted. This was a difficult move from the get go. I hired Fantastic because we had used them 2 years before and had a great experience. But not so much this time. To start off the movers were over an hour late, I had to call the office to find this out, and was told there was an issue in the office. When they got to my gated community one of the drivers did not have a valid drivers license so I had to shuttle the one driver between the gate and my house so they could get both trucks to the house before they could start to work. I will say that the guy's worked really hard and did not stop for lunch. but unlike the last move it took them over 5 hours to pack up the trucks. this I think was due in part to a new worker this was only his second move. although he was a help, this move was too big for him to train on. when we arrived at my house it was still under renovation, the trucks had to be unloaded to the garage (note this was in no way the fault of Fantastic move) although I did receive a call on the way to the new house from their office (Jane I think), who informed me that the guys will have worked to TXDOT max when they arrived at my house and would need to just unload and come back later to set up my furniture they would do this at no charge on Sunday. I told her to help them out i would have the trucks unloaded into my garage so they could be done for the day. The next day I was called by Jane and informed that because the house was not ready that they would need to charge me to come back, needless to say I had to accept these terms as I had a garage full of stuff I could not move. they did however give me a reduced rate, but did charge me a trip charge. they came back 5 days later as agreed. and spent 1 hour moving in the furniture after my wife and I moved some stuff into the house and cleared stuff out of the way to make the second move less costly. Moving is never easy or pleasant. But I've never had a better experience with a mover than I did with Fantastic Moves. From start to finish they were outstanding. First, while they were not the cheapest bid I received, they were entirely accurate and did not try try to lowball the estimate as some companies do. If anything, they came in under their bid, which is always a nice surprise. Second, they do not use temporary workers or day laborers. Their employees have lots of experience with moves. Third, they were very flexible with my packing and move date. That was a great relief as I had some uncertainty up to the last couple of days about when my move-out and move-in dates would be. Fourth, they were very professional with the packing and moving. They took good care of my things, some of which are fragile. Fifth, after the move was over, when I discovered there was some slight damage to a book shelf they immediately responded and had a handyman repair it better than before the very next day. These guys were awesome! I am super paranoid when it comes to movers so I must have called and talked to about 10 companies before I decided on Fantastic Moves. We were only doing a small move (we only needed help loading a U-haul with furniture from a 2nd floor apt) as we were going to drive it down to Austin ourselves. The job would take an hour max, but a lot of moving companies have a 2 hour minimum. I explained the situation to Parrish and he agreed to work with me, and instead charged me a small trip fee and waived the 2 hour minimum. So it ended up being the cheapest option out of everyone. 2 guys showed up exactly on time, and I received a written confirmation and a reminder the day before. They were VERY careful and wrapped all the furniture in blankets or plastic wrap, even though the stuff would have probably been ok without it. They even managed to fit everything in our tiny Uhaul. If we had done it ourselves there was no way we could have packed it like that! The job finished exactly on time in an hour and I don't feel like they wasted any time. For the life of me, I wish I could remember the guys' names because I would totally request them again! One of the guys had been a mover for 20 years so he definitely knew what he was doing. Great Job! Would definitely recommend! Recently we moved, and it wasn't a simple move...we sold our house very quickly and had to be out before we could move into our new one. We didn't want to have to pay to be moved twice, so we looked into various options and ended up renting two large portable containers for all of our stuff. And, we didn't want to load them ourselves, so we looked into moving companies. From the quote to final unload and invoice, our experience was great. Parrish and the staff at the office were very communicative and professional, and explained everything very clearly. Harley and Nick, the guys who loaded and unloaded everything, we very professional, friendly and careful. The end of the summer is always the busiest time of year, but the current housing boom in the DFW area made it even crazier, and we were somewhat at the mercy of the company delivering and picking up the containers. But, Parrish and staff were incredibly flexible and understanding. I was also concerned that because we were paying by the hour the guys loading and unloading would take their time or otherwise not work hard, but Harley and Nick worked very steadily, taking very reasonable breaks and working at a very admirable pace, especially considering the summer heat. We chose Fantastic Moves based on our initial impression and the reasonable cost of the quote, and we were VERY pleased that it all ended up costing just what we expected.
