This guy is not on the up and up. He lies when convenient to his bottom line. He came to my house in his rig, complete with tree-chopper, had the motor running and ready to go, etc... and as soon as I opened the door he shoved a business card in my face and said "your tree is dying". Well, I happen to know exactly what is going on with my tree. So I said, "No, it's not". He said "It's got Emerald Ash Borer". And I said "that's a lie." "What?" he said, taken aback. And I said, "It's not true. Have a nice day" And I closed the door on him. Listen, when a person comes door to door pretending knowledge about something and trying to use that so-called knowledge to get you to chop your tree down, on the spot, you need to realize, he is a liar. Pretense is lying. Now, if this guy had said I noticed your tree has something going on, would you like us to check it and see if we can tell what is wrong with it" I would have told him, we already had 3 experts come and look at this in detail, and the tree may or may not live due to the shock it has been through, but it has no disease and is actually in the process of trying to come back. So, no I don't need a fourth opinion. But thank you. But instead, this con man led with something geared to make me think all was lost and the tree just needed to come down, right now. This is the lying merchant of chaos, trying to use fear to get you to give him money for something that isn't necessarily true, and if he were worth his salt, he would know it wasn't necessarily true. So he is either an unskilled idiot or he is trying to convince you of something he knows is not necessarily true. A tree that is supposed to live well over 100 years has lived 50 and has provided beauty and shade and value all this time, and all he sees is something he can chop down if he can trick you into not thinking. Affordable and fast. They did a great job for trimming our trees and and cleaned up well after themselves. Only issue is I asked for their certificate of liability and it had expired, or as Manuel mentioned, it was an error on the certificate. I've heard horror stories about uninsured tree trimmers, and it made me very nervous. So it's something they'll want to get corrected as soon as possible. But aside from that, they did a fantastic job and we'll be using them from now on. read more

I cannot stress enough that the poor rating on Yelp for Fantastic Tree is accurate. We luckily did not hire them to trim our 6 trees, but I felt compelled nonetheless to encourage people to avoid them. The reports of unprofessionalism are accurate and while they are the cheapest tree trimmers we've received quotes from, the price does not justify the behavior. Manuel walked me through the work they would do and it seemed reasonable enough. However, when I asked for assurances in a contract that they would not damage property (fence, house, deck) he assured me "this is easy work, you've got nothing to worry about," and "we're highly recommended on the internet." I also asked for a detailed invoice and contract outlining the work - basically, the bare minimum. He said his invoicing materials were in his other truck proceeded to downplay my concerns. I cannot imagine proceeding with work as high-consequence as tree trimming without a papered contract. Contacted Fantastic tree trimming and removal on a Tuesday for a price estimate and called them to set up an appointment the next day and they were able to do a huge job the same day! There price was great! They were so nice and efficient! We had 2 giant trees trimmed and 2 trees removed. Great price, fast work, and cleaned up everything! Dropped the trunk of a tree cross slope, rolled down and took out a four foot high timber landscape wall. Manuel refused to repair the damage. He stated the timbers were old and rotten. I volunteered to provide the materials if he and his partner would do the repairs. He refused to come back. My last phone contact with him, he told me to "have a nice day!" Also did not come back the next day to clean up the debris left from dropping the tree. read more

Did a good job cleaning up prunings in yard from the past several years. Limbed the tree down to the trunk. Dropped the trunk on a slight incline. It rolled down the slope and took out a two tiered tie wall. Claimed it wasn't his fault because the ties were "rotted out." Refused to replace it even when I agreed to supply the materials. Cost $500 to replace. Did a lousy job of cleaning up the trimmings. Don't trust this guy! His positive reviews could have been written by family and friends. read more

Unethical and unprofessional company! Company agreed to cut down two dead trees, cut down a stump and trim all the trees front and back of the house. They cut two trees, trimmed one and said they would return next day to finish. After 9 separate calls and texts asking for confirmation of when they would turn to finish the work or refund a portion (they already cashed the check), they said to quit harassing them or they wouldn't return and hung up on me. After a complaint to BBB, they returned the next week when we were not home, and gouged, ripped and mutilated two of our trees in the backyard. There are at least 15 gouges in the trunks, there are branches cut 3/4 then ripped from the tree, tearing bark down the tree at least 3 spots. Another complaint has been filed. So impressed by how quickly they took down two large (and very dead) trees in my backyard. They knocked on my door asking if I wanted a free estimate -- wary at first, I didn't want to commit right away, but my husband ended up negotiating with them. I would not recommend this service. They ruined my shrubs and trees. I received the estimate from Manuel. He agreed to cut off dead branches and overgrown branches of trees, shape shrubs and bushes. My crab apple was trimmed so only the top is left- I didn't ask for that to be done at all. Then Manuel told me he was not going to trim some of the trees in the estimate. I asked if the cost was reduced and was told " I need the money." I said " I need the work done." There were two over gown shrubs in the back yard I was told he would shape. He chopped them down completely. Then took a chain saw to the front of a shrub and sheared it straight down. At that point I ran out and said you can stop. He used my ladders, trimmer, rakes and wheelbarrow. In all fairness the crew in the front of the house did a good job shaping bushes. Otherwise this was a rip off of a service with a lousy job done. I paid him the estimated amount. Lets be clear he did one third of what he said he would do. Of course that was probably a blessing in the long run. Then as he was leaving he demanded bottled water for himself and his crew. I would never recommend this service to anyone. read more

I was very skeptical when Manuel and his crew came by and knocked on my door to see if I was interested in having my two very large trees trimmed. I have no idea what possessed me to tell them I would take a quote on the work but I sure am glad I did. They offered a highly competitive price well below what other trimmers would have charged. My father in law is a contractor and has always warned me against having any work done by someone without insurance so I asked if they carried any. I was fully expecting that they likely didn't which could easily explain their low price but lo and behold they had a policy and were happy to show it to me. They started the work immediately and in roughly 4 hours had both of my trees fully trimmed to my exact requests and the yard cleaned up. Its also worth nothing that one of my trees is probably close to 60 feet tall and had some large, very high limbs that needed to be taken out. I was very nervous about the possibility of one of the large limbs they were taking out falling on either our fence or roof but no such thing happened. Here's the best part, the next morning, someone showed up bright and early to "finish the cleanup." I had thought they were already done and they were already paid! Very, very pleased and will be calling again in the future when we need more work done. read more
