Steve the owner was our pilot. He was very friendly, informative, and well experienced. Steve continues to compete around the world in Hot Air Balloon and shared his stories throughout our ride Steve and his two sons pilot the balloons and make the experience well worth the money. For those hesitant to take the leap I suggest you get over your fears and concerns and enjoy this amazing experience.

Basically paid $400 for a 20 min ride!! Ridiculous! And the ride was kept pretty low the entire time. Absolutely not worth it, 100% do not recommend.

My experience with Justin at this years 2021 HotAir Balloon Festival was great. Lots of great information, safety procedures, history, funny jokes, navigational skills, safe landing and some bubbly drinks at the end became a great highlight for my first time in a HotAir Balloon. I would highly recommend this company and Justin.

Looking up onto our beautiful balloon.

Four of us joined Justin the Pilot this morning for an amazing hot air balloon sunrise trip over the desert. Lived here 30+ years and brought visiting family on this adventure. We had never done it. I cant wait to do it again. Highly recommend Fantasy Balloons, Justin and his amazing crew. Not to be missed

Amazing! Such a professional crew and our pilot, Justin, was an expert. Had so much knowledge of the area so it was a neat history lesson from three thousand feet. We had the best time and made great family memories!

We took a sunrise flight on Dec. 29, 2015. Although we booked it just two days earlier, they were able to fit us in. All interactions with the staff were professional, friendly, and informative from start to finish. A breakfast of muffins, quick breads and coffee was offered at the Cafe Italia meeting spot. Staff seemed genuinely concerned for our comfort and safety. We were driven out to the take-off spot. Justin, our pilot/ the owners' son, was capable, knowledgeable (being a Coachella Valley local) and had a fun sense of humor. The ride was generally peaceful, offered incredible views, and left me in awe throughout the hour + ride. We had a perfect, gentle landing at the Thermal Airport. They even offer a champagne toast at the end. Yes, it's pricey, but I believe well worth the money for such a memorable and amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience! Tip: Wear layers and flat-soled shoes, as they recommend.

I did my homework looking around form a flight school that was a good fit for me…read more Chris, the owner, rolled out the red carpet and showed me around. I got to meet many of his instructors. All were great guys, great to talk to, all very experienced, competent and patient. I continued to look at other schools, as I wanted to make the best choice for me. So, I booked a lesson, Mark is my assigned instructor. The guy was awesome! I've flown quite a bit previously, this was an aircraft I was not familiar with. Mark gave me a great run down of the plane, and had me do the pre-flight myself, but supervising to make sure I didn't miss anything, which was perfect, I learn best by doing things myself, Mark zeroed in on that, and let me do my thing, and alerted me to anything that I missed and explained it. That was perfect. Mark had me taxi, I was unfamiliar with this aircraft, and a little nervous about it, but Mark zeroed in on that and encouraged me to taxi, and get familiar with the rudder controls, and get the feeling for it. Mark was super patent the entire time and kept giving me information, and also had me using the radio, holding me to performing as PIC, he didn't let me allow my nervousness to hold me back, he comfortably encouraged me to push forward. Which again is how I learn the best. Chris was there, overseeing operations and checking in with me as to how it was going. Again, what a great guy. Both of these men had a great sense of humor, were encouraging. I'm used to flying a very old C172, and these aircraft are very new with very modern avionics that I am not familiar with, but eased me into finding everything. What this did was give me just enough to want to jump back into lessons feet first. What a great day. I'm anxious to have my next lesson with my instructor, and fly as many planes as they offer so I can have experience flying several aircraft They make becoming a pilot lots of fun. Yeah, I got very nervous being in an unfamiliar aircraft, and the modern avionics intimidated me, but Mark kept me busy and hands on, and didn't let me talk myself out of adapting to the modern avionics. A little on the aircraft, it was a very new airplane, very sensitive and responsive to the controls, I'm using to a very old 172 that is like pushing draft horse around, these aircraft respond to a light touch, this is teaching me to fly a modern plane that flies like it is supposed to that didn't make me have to wrestle with the controls like I am accustomed to, which made that plane a pleasure to operate. My only complaint is that it is not my day to fly today! And I want to fly more. I have to pay as I go, so, I'm flying on a budget, yet Chris and Mark are good with that, and have a plan to keep me flying often, and keep on learning. This is exactly the kind of learning environment that I need. I am impressed. I can't speak highly enough about the school or the quality of instruction. This is exactly what I need, as in my not so distant future, I am acquiring my own airplane, and am going to tour 48 states by air. I'll be traveling alone, and these guys are giving me thorough instruction to help me grow into a competent and confident pilot so I can accomplish my dreams. So, if you're looking for a great flight school, with great instructors that are other yet will push you to learn hands on, and flying NEWER aircraft, you'd be hard pressed to find a better school. The school is a very veteran friendly place, treating this old Jar Head like a VIP. SEMPER FI.

I accidentally dropped one of my earrings down the bathroom sink drain and was convinced it was gone for good. I reported it to the front desk and hoped for the best. When we returned later that day, I was thrilled to find my earring safely waiting in the room along with a note from Edgar. He took the time and effort to retrieve it, and I was incredibly grateful. What could have been a disappointing vacation moment turned into a great memory because of his kindness and willingness to help. Employees like Edgar make a real difference and are a wonderful reflection of the level of service provided here. Thank you, Edgar, for going above and beyond!

Prior to our…read moretrip, my husband had made several attempts--over the course of months--to upgrade our reservation to a two-bedroom unit. Each call to the 1-800 number involved wait times exceeding 45 minutes, but we were consistently reassured that an upgrade could be accommodated upon arrival. Unfortunately, this was not the case. At check-in, the front desk informed us they could not assist and directed us to contact the 1-800 number again. After doing so, we spoke with a representative who reviewed the notes from our previous calls and confirmed that an upgrade should be possible. We were advised to request a manager upon returning to the desk. However, after waiting in line again and explaining the situation, the manager declined to come out and instead relayed through staff that the last two-bedroom unit had already been taken. As a family of five, a one-bedroom was not suitable, but we decided to move forward and make the best of the situation. Upon arriving at Building 6, we were immediately concerned by the condition of the property. The stairwells had visible cobwebs and scattered trash, giving the impression of poor upkeep. When we entered the unit, it was clear the space was not well designed for comfort. The living area was cramped due to excessive, unnecessary furniture, and both the living room and bedroom felt tight and poorly arranged. The bathroom was adequately sized but only had a single sink. The shower/tub leaked water, and the shower curtain appeared insufficient, which likely contributed to visible water damage. There was also noticeable mold and general uncleanliness in the bathroom. The carpeting throughout the unit appeared heavily soiled. The pool experience was also disappointing. The property advertises multiple pools, including two with water slides. On our second day, we attempted to enjoy these amenities, only to find that one of the main pools connected to a slide was closed, with assurances it would reopen the following day. At the main pool, we found the patio furniture in poor condition--cushions were torn and visibly dirty--and the pool water itself appeared unclean. Additionally, there was ongoing construction nearby, which disrupted the environment and required guests, including my daughter, to repeatedly accommodate workers passing through. We moved to a quieter pool area, which was somewhat better, but the water still appeared less than clean. On the third day, the previously closed pool remained unavailable, adding to our frustration. We eventually found another pool area that was better maintained, with cleaner seating. Food service was also inconvenient, as everything had to be ordered through a mobile system with no traditional waitstaff, which made the experience less enjoyable. Other issues included receiving extra blankets and pillows delivered in trash bags, which felt highly unprofessional. The pull-out sofa bed was in poor condition, with torn bedding and what appeared to be stains on the mattress. Overall, after four days, we were ready to return home. This was one of the most disappointing stays we have experienced. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and unresponsive customer service made it difficult to enjoy what should have been a relaxing family trip.

The camping itself is not horrid in any aspect- it is mainly the promises that it fails to keep. A friend and I recently camped here for Coachella weekend two and spent $75 each on air balloon rides- they ended up being cancelled. That was upsetting but understandable considering the winds were said to be strong. There were said to be four to five shuttles to transport people to and back from Coachella. An employee even said to us as we parked, "don't worry it's so friendly here you can even get the driver's number and text him when you're ready to go" Turns out there are only three shuttles- no one is allowed to have the drivers phone number for some reason. The shuttles arrive every hour with poor time leaving 30-40 people waiting for shuttles for over an hour on both day 1 and day 2 of Coachella. If not longer- we ended up taking a private bus back because our experience was so bad. Considering we paid $75 each for shuttle passes it's ultimately upsetting and irritating. Basecamp was intended to be a fun place to stay and hangout and with a pool and bars it seems like it- but they are also lacking in Amenaties- with only 3-4 small lounge areas there really is no place to hangout during the hot days. The bathrooms are also lacking in the upkeep. This picture is from one of the women's bathrooms- which started to leak and continues to 24 hours later.

In 3 words: Awful Horrible Deception!…read more Base Camp made a reduction to the no of nights during my stay from 4 nights to 3 on 19th April 2018 a few hours prior to the night of my check in, I received an email from Base Camp stating that check in was cancelled due to winds. This was extremely unfortunate news on the night of myself and my guest's arrival from London to LA as the notice provided on the weather forecast was only announced at very short notice. As a result of this late announcement, alternative accommodation had to be sought and paid for, on the same day of my arrival as there was no other option of where to sleep. This proved to be very stressful and expensive and an inconvenient start to my Coachella holiday. I visited Base Camp based on reviews and recommendations online and my overall experience proved to have fallen short of anything positive. Upon arrival at the check-in desk on 20th April, we were not welcomed so gracefully, in addition to this - not one colleague apologised for the cancellation made with little detail and notice and showed little regard for the inconvenience it caused for the guests. The reasons for the cancellation on this occasion, as a Customer, was completely outside of our control. The decision was made by Base Camp but no refund had been accounted for the loss of nights stay and accommodation. Whilst safety may have been the driver, forecasts should have been assessed well in advance and communicated clearly to all guests in the most practical form via email, or your website. I repeatedly requested to speak to a site manager, who was never available, I was advised he will visit our tent but never did. I then Spoke to Derrick (Supervisor) whom advised that comms would definitely be sent out to guests on the handling of our cancelled check in on 19th April and added that any costs incurred to arrange alternative accommodation would also be taken care of; but zero communication has been received to date!!!. The management of this incident has been below standard. Additional concerns and issues that lead to an overall poor experience: - Directions to venue were unclear, no signs anywhere close the the front of the campsite stating "Base Camp" - Toilets were dirty, constantly blocked and lacked hygiene and sanitizations - Blankets and sheets limited, hard beds - Pool was extremely small - Showers were cold and stopped intermittently and were very unreliable - Tents were not and far from furnished, a bed and chair is basic and looked nothing as advertised on the website - Staff were rude and charged $75 for a shuttle bus that wasn't well highlighted (no Base Camp sign or red lights were placed on our 10pm bus as we were previously advised) on return back to camp from Coachella festival. This completely ruined out Coachella stay, avoid avoid AVOID!

On our second day, Dannielle came to the pool area and threatened to kick us out, shut the pool down, and call the police, claiming we were "taking over" the pool and leaving a mess. We had about 12 kids under 13 with us, so while there was normal pool noise, we constantly monitored them. Furthermore, we were incredibly mindful of our trash--the night before, a staff member actually stopped us to thank us because they were so surprised by how clean we left the area. When we asked to speak to a manager because of the aggressive tone Dannielle was using, she defensively claimed she was the "only manager" there. We later found out that the General Manager is actually Gonzalo Rodriguez. To have an employee lie about her position, refuse to let us speak to management, and jump straight to threatening paying guests with the police is completely unacceptable. It made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome for the rest of our stay. Beware of booking here if you have a family; the frontline staff is great, but Dannielle's behavior was shocking.
