No airbrushing involved! Each tattoo starts with a new stencil which sticks to the skin with adhesive. Glue is then applied and the glitter is painted on. After the stencil is peeled off (and discarded), the rhinestones are applied and set. We went to a party with Aloha Glitter Tattoos and the kids absolutely loved their tattoos! Some of them got one on each arm AND each leg!! The boys got dragons and UH warriors tattoos and the girls got all kinds of cute flowers and cupcakes with rhinestones! The tattoos are supposed to last 7 days but I'm sure my daughter will try to make it last 2 weeks. She loves tattoos. She loves glitter tattoos. My event was in Downtown Honolulu and the owner said that I still needed to pay the $25 travel fee (just checked and the website hasn't changed). The owner also said a few days before the event to expect 3 staff; however, only 2 staff came to the party. I paid $393 for 2 hours of glitter tattoos and balloon art. The pictures on Yelp and their company website look great. However, the skill and experience of the 2 staff who came to my event were trainee/beginner level. A guest commented that the glitter tattoos took a while to apply, which may be harder for younger kids to sit through. The website photos also show several colors on many glitter tattoos, but the glitter tattoos made at my party were only one and sometimes two colors. The balloon art honestly looked like they were made by someone who just began doing it a few months ago. I think a more experienced staff person (the 3rd staff that was promised) should have came to event to give them tips and to provide more variety for party guests. Of course, guests didn't make any comments during the party, but when I asked a few closer friends after the party if they'd use this company at future events, they said no. They were actually surprised that I paid that much for what I got. If you don't mind paying around $400 for 2 hours of very simple temporary glitter tattoos and balloons, for an age 5 and under crowd (older kids wouldn't be impressed), then this company might be for you. I had a 20x30 tent with alot of room and thought that be good enough but the sun was moving in on her work area towards end time. When reaching out to confirm how I can make the final payment he casually said Ken will be able to accept it. I asked who Ken was and he informed me that he was sorry for the mix up and he's mostly retired and Ken his son takes his gigs now. This was disappointing to hear, but two days out we tried to make the best of it. Tiki apologized and drew a photo of the birthday boy remotely to make up for it which we appreciated. On the day of Ken was very nice, showed up on time. He forgot a power strip, but fortunately the venue had one. Not sure what the work around would have been if they did not. He set up and got to work. Right away we noticed it took much longer per photo than expected. Most folks including us sat for 10-15 minutes. Much longer than the expected 3-5 minutes. A couple of days after the party we received the digital gallery link from Ken, and unfortunately for the whole party with a constant wait, only 11 people got pictures. Additionally when looking at how Digitoons sets up in Yelp reviews, they put up a sign or banner advertising it. Unfortunately they did not for this, so it got around by word of mouth really. In the end it was a fun addition to the party, but felt a little like a like a bait and switch. We booked based on the quality of work that Tiki provided and while Ken is a very nice guy his art isn't up to par with his Dad. The Digitoons website in its entirety speaks about Tiki, not once does it mention anything else. I don't think they intentionally tried to bamboozle us, they seem like great people. We just didn't get what we paid for and only found out a few days before the party. Tiki informed me that his rate would have been much higher for himself, but that's not what's advertised on his site.
