I planned a vow renewal as a surprise for my wife and I, and when searching for "How to get my vows…read morerenewed in Puerto Rico", our friends at PR Destination Weddings came up. I looked through the available locations, and saw Playa Princesa, and immediately knew that I had to have the ceremony there. When I contacted Joanna with what I wanted, the correspondence was quick and painless. In fact, the correspondence was good enough that there wasn't that much of it: there didn't need to be. I booked the elopement ceremony (we were doing a vow renewal so no paperwork was needed), along with the included photographer and added a guitarist. I requested that he learn our wedding song, which they agreed to do. They warn about cell service on the beach, but my T-Mobile was fine. We stayed in town at a small AirBNB called Mar Bonita, and it was about 5 minutes from the location, and adequate. Woke up the day of the ceremony, arrived in plenty of time, and Joanna, her guitarist, and the photographer, Angel met us. After quick introductions, we made our way to the beach, and went through the ceremony. Angel took over, after that, and snapped a bunch of pictures walking down the beach that were instant treasures for us. We walked back down the beach, where suddenly a second guitarist had appeared (what a value!) and together with the first guitarist, they played and sang, with harmony, our wedding song. Talk about a core memory. Everything was perfect. I can't thank Joanna enough, and I can't recommend her enough... PR Destination Weddings knocked it out of the park.

Destination Weddings exceeded our expectations. Every aspect of the wedding from the ceremony to the reception was first class all the way. The locations were beautiful and the food was gourmet. Destination weddings was even able to accommodate all the changes in plans due the Covid pandemic. A first class operation all the way!

Puerto Rico Wedding Photography by Camille Fontánez - This is one of my favorite pictures of my husband and I. I love Camille's work! (May 2015)

She was kind and caring, very excited for us, and made the whole process feel really special and fun. She gave clear cues on natural posing so mother every felt forced or uncomfortable. Me and my husband tend to be very awkward in photos, but she helped make this whole experience very comfortable. I highly recommend her!!!!

Shy and introverted, it was refreshing to find a fellow nerd and mechanical engineer that knew how to manipulate lighting and the environment real time to get the best pictures in a short amount of time. When we asked for the digital rights to print our own album she acceded as her resources were limited. Eight years later, she not only has her own booming business but is an acclaimed wedding photographer, who is able to give you an album, your choice of canvas prints and much more in each of her packages! By pure serendipity, Camille also became a friend and was there in our best and worst times. She cares about her craft, her products and most importantly, her clients. Always willing and able to go the extra mile to get you dream shots, she is also open to any idea you may throw her way. Anything is possible when you hire her and her crew. Her shots are so popular with our friends that they have hired her to document their nuptials! Proud of her service, business acumen and love of her subjects. Book her before it is too late. :)

Also the planets were in perfect alignment 12.11.21 (LITERALLY)! How cool is that? Invited 118 people, 75 RSVPd, 45 came! They say only 30% show to a destination wedding. So how much does it cost to have a destination wedding? We didn't have any rich family members to fund our wedding, so we planned and saved accordingly. Our initial budget was 20k we spent about 30k. I used the knot budget planning app. Those figures include our outfits, honeymoon, flights, transportation, yacht party. Premium dinner & Premium open bar. Photography, videographers, and floral. Ceremony & Recepption Villa Norbu is to die for. We toured the island a year prior and fell so in love we canceled all of tours. Unfortunately, if you have a later wedding it gets dark and you can't see the true magic of it for that long. The food was top notch and so was the staff. We had lamb & lobster among other things. Our ceremony was at lindquist beach. In December while still in the 80s it's their winter so you will see some seaweed. It was also a little windy which helped us stay cool in the heat. Island Bliss Weddings Review Great communication with Janelle & Scotts officiating was top notch! He weaved our story together beautifully. I cry every time I play the video (you can watch them on my IG @TherapyWithAsh I didn't realize we didn't pay for Janelle to coordinate until it was too late. Our wedding coordinator for the day didn't seem to be comfortable with our group. Idk if they didn't like giving directions or what? But no one knew what to do ...and then the coordinator would come to me confused. I asked if they told our guest what to do, they looked at me dumbfounded, and then I or my husband would give a direction and it was done. I didn't understand why they couldn't just talk to our guest and give directions! I.E. after the ceremony everyone was supposed to go to the cocktail party. The bridal party stayed behind for beach photos. But the guest never left and the transportation waited. The wedding coordinator simply had to tell them to get on the bus. But instead the wedding coordinator came to me and I had to direct people to get on the bus and go! Same thing before the ceremony. No one was sitting down and the wedding coordinator came to us and we had to pass the message for people to sit down. I was pulled in every direction. Literally being pulled: from the wind; to take this photo; do this; do that; and I never knew how chaotic a wedding would be! I did enjoy sitting down to eat and listening to speeches! We used DJ Dell his rates were the best on island. But he messed up some transitions and needed reminders. I think he was tired that day to be honest cause I met him on zoom THREE times! He legit forgot to play the song my husband was supposed to walk down to then remembered. Overall I'm happy we did it!
