I have always been intrigued with how wonderful our brains are and just wanted to improve anxiety that had been part of me since childhood, along with improving my brain performance in general. I would tell myself I just wanted to feel "normal". I went through a very difficult experience late last year that left me with high levels of anxiety and severe PTSD. In all honesty, I felt broken. I was in survival mode for many months. My goal was to get better without medication. I did thorough research and finally decided to go with The Balanced Brain and I am so glad I did. From the very beginning, John was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate. He took the time to listen, understand my needs, and provide thoughtful guidance throughout the process. I was very nervous during the intake process and my very first appointment. The team helped ease my anxiety. They were very caring and reassured me that my brain wasn't broken. My thought process was a mess. I was a mess. Instead of a one-size-fits-all program, they adjust the training based on how your brain responds. I loved this because my brain was being trained based on MY needs. The team took the time to really understand my history and how my brain and nervous system were functioning. They also look at lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and other factors that affect brain performance. A combination of tools were helpful to the Neurofeedback sessions, such as coaching with Madison, lifestyle guidance, HeartMath, bloodwork to go in depth the health of my brain and body, etc. What I appreciate most is that the focus isn't just on symptoms, it's about helping your brain learn to regulate itself better. This was huge for me. The changes were gradual but meaningful. I started sleeping better, felt calmer during stressful situations, my resilience increased. Instances where I'd be triggered were no longer a thing. I can even go to the nail salon now without anxious thoughts! Everyone at the office is very friendly and professional. They were all very supportive and genuinely interested in helping me improve. I am eternally grateful for them being by my side through it all. I even got to meet some wonderful people also doing Neurofeedback. Sharing stories and experiences was one of my faves! I officially finished my 60th session and plan on continuing in the future for maintenance. John (and the entire team) create a welcoming and supportive environment where you feel cared for as a person, not just a client. His generosity, patience, and dedication truly reflects the kind of human being he is. He is incredible! I am very grateful for the support and positive experience I had working with him. Give the Balanced Brain a try, you will NOT regret it. It has been the best thing I have ever done for myself!

Working with Bruno through the '7 Elements of Balance' has been a life-changing experience and a total transformation. In just 13 weeks, I lost 26.3 lbs and saw my BMI drop from 33.4 down to 28.7 (moving from Obese Class 1 to Overweight). While the numbers speak for themselves--including losing 4 inches off my waist--the lifestyle habits are what I value most. I've become a consistent morning runner and I actually enjoy it! I'm much more mindful and aware of what I'm eating, my water intake has improved, and for the first time, I find myself looking forward to eating vegetables. Bruno is a one-of-a-kind coach who works with you one-on-one. He is incredibly flexible, understanding, and encouraging. You can tell he truly loves what he does and cares about his clients looking and being at their best--spiritually, physically, and in all the good things. Everyone is genuine and truly care for your well being there. I have gotten some very informative insights and tips on my overall health and important lifestyle changes. I consider myself to be a healthy person and I have gotten so much out of one session already. I cannot even imagine how beneficial this healing would be for someone who is sick and battling a serious disease. The colonics session that lasts about an hour (or I guess it depends on the individual) is performed on a very high scale, latest technology machine where the pressure of the water injected is lead by gravity instead of being pressurized. That is the main reason it feels a lot more comfortable than the other machines out there. I highly recommend this healing approach and office to everyone and anyone who wishes to live a more healthy lifestyle. This was pretty bad. My first experience seeking out a personal trainer and I sure did learn a lot. I'll begin with the fact that during the consultation with Robert, I let him know that I needed time to think about signing up because I wasn't sure it was financially feasible for me right now ($900 deposit + $82 weekly payments). He insisted on "helping" me by saying I could just pay half the deposit now and half at a later date (he stepped out of the office room so i could check my calendar for a payday that would work for paying the other half -- how kind). A big selling point for me was that, while nutrition was acknowledged as important, I was told it would not be strict or pushed on me. I was very upfront about my history of disordered eating and was assured that their staff are educated and mindful of this. I was then asked if I preferred a male or female trainer. As an AFAB person, I almost always default to female staff. He paired me with their trainer Bre. Fabulous. I tell him I will start next week and he puts me down for Tuesday per my request. My first session on Tuesday was my last session at Moses Fitness. I arrived and met with Bre, my trainer, who informed me that we would do a quick intake conversation before getting started. Sounds fine enough. We go into her office where I find out she knows absolutely nothing about me. Robert did not give her my information and she was entirely unprepared in terms of knowledge about me as her new client. Annoying but mostly whatever. We go over my goals (weight loss but nothing crazy -- just wanna get to a healthier weight before it becomes an issue). I inform her of my eating disorder history and she tells me she understands and will be mindful of this... and then she asks me if I'm able and willing to weigh my food. "...No. Given my history." "Totally! I respect that. There's no pressure to do that extra step, though if you decided to do it I would be a very happy trainer." I mean... come tf on. I also inform her of my sleep disorder (idiopathic hypersomnia), and she kindly asks about what it is and what I need in terms of accommodations. I let her know that frequent breaks are helpful given the quick onset of fatigue i experience and she lets me know that's totally fine. Awesome! Now we're getting started with the exercise portion of the session. It starts out okay! After a very quick shoulder stretch, I was a little nervous because she handed me two 10lb weights to start but figured she knows what she's doing. Without giving a play-by-play of the nearly 2hr hellscape, we continue onto the next thing she's got planned -- this is where everything went way downhill. I was able to do a single set of 10 mostly okay. It was challenging but it felt good! ... and then she said 2 more. I was aggressively shaking and experiencing a lack of strength I've never felt before. She's pushing me to push through it but I'm taking breaks because of how wiped i was already feeling. This continues through every workout we do. I let her know on *3* separate occasions that I was light headed and dizzy. She told me to take a breather. Then back to it. Finally, we're finish the first of 3 whole-body sets and I tell her I need her to show me where I can safely vomit. *Now* she's listening. She takes me to the restroom that thankfully smelled strongly enough of chemicals that the extreme nausea dropped to mild nausea and throwing up was averted. I came out of the bathroom and the first thing she says after asking if I'm okay is: "Please come back." The next morning, I upload a picture of a muffin to the Moses app for my trainer to see and I almost immediately receive a comment from Bre that I should avoid muffins moving forward and have a bagel with cottage cheese instead. So now I'm experiencing food guilt barely two days into the program. (added a picture with the remainder of my review because of character count)

If you are still at all hesitant, here's a list of what I gain from my sessions with her in a bit more detail: 1. a real, trustworthy and sound advice on various topics (e.g. nutrition choices, fad/trends, glp1, meditation) from someone who been in the medical field and now in the fitness & health field who isn't afraid of sharing her own experiences 2. How to really engage my core; now I can engage while during meetings and even in the car! 3. How to tell when it is okay to swap over to higher weights; knowing my strengths and how to push my boundaries is really helpful to prevent myself from accidentally injuring or straining myself 4. Example: Learning what muscles are being engaged when you're doing hammer curl vs bicep curl helps me understand what I want to tighten. 6. How to take care of myself for long term wellness (e.g. walking backwards on treadmill helps with strengthening the muscles around me and make me feel more confidence that I won't injure myself) While I'm not a success dramatic picture worthy case, the confidence, the knowledge & practice she instilled into me will be life-long.
