The lack of communication regarding his exit was alarming; not only were we unaware of his departure, but the office also transitioned his patients to Dr. Malinoff without any prior notice. Reluctantly, my family and I chose to stay, hoping the quality of care would remain at the high standard set by Dr. Jabaiti. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The front office staff has become increasingly rude and unprofessional. They lack transparency and have consistently failed to inform patients about significant changes. On multiple occasions, I have found myself on the phone only to have staff members hang up on me without explanation. Moreover, since Dr. Malinoff took over, I have faced numerous issues with insurance billing. Under Dr. Jabaiti's care, I never experienced any insurance denials, but now, treatments are being denied left and right. After contacting my insurance, I learned that Avra Dental was not submitting the necessary documentation for approval. Despite my persistence, the front office insisted that everything was submitted correctly. It took months of back-and-forth before they finally sent the right information, resulting in an eventual approval. The rudeness of the staff has made each interaction a struggle. We tolerated this behavior because Dr. Jabaiti was an exceptional dentist, but now it feels like the office is in complete disarray. To make matters worse, I was recently informed that they are no longer in contract with my insurance, and with appointments looming for myself and family members, this left us scrambling to find a new dentist. There was no prior notice about this change, forcing us to rush and find alternatives. When I called my insurance to clarify, they explained that Avra Dental chose to stop accepting my insurance, despite the fact that they were still in-network. After persistent emails, I finally received my dental records to facilitate the transition to a new provider. However, for a family member's treatment, they had to go through multiple temporaries, and the assistants did not do a proper job. One temporary fell off in just one day! In summary, Avra Dental has become a source of stress rather than care. Save yourself the hassle and seek a dental office that values communication and patient care.

Not to mention they have the most annoying music from the 80s and 90s playing on their radio (nothing against either decade, but still). When I went for one of the half-cleans, they had me wait 10 minutes in the chair with numbing gel in my mouth, and it was an absolute challenge not to swallow during that time. The cleaning itself went about as well as at any other dentist, but I am certainly not coming back. My previous dentist did full cleanings for half the price of a single half-clean here at Plaza, and without HMO as well. Ya' better believe I'm pivoting right back to them.

He puts you at ease by letting you know not to be nervous, it won't hurt and it didn't. He took many x-rays during the procedure just to make sure everything looked right. The office staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Meier reccomended a deep cleaning or a root plaining. I agreed to have the treatment done. After the treatment the irritation was gone. I felt really good about this office. Note that there were no cavities detected. Upon my return a few months later for a routine cleaning, I was treated by a dental hygienist that was real rough on me. In fact she scraped my teeth so hard that I knew something was wrong. I've had many routine cleanings done in my life and non have been this painful. At the very endof the treatment she seemed to fumble her cleaning tool the wrong way and I screamed in pain. They did an Xray and it now appears that I have a cavity exactly where she fumbled her tool. As I had stated before, I walked in feeling fine, and walked out in serious pain that hasn't subsided but has only intensified ever since. Additionally not only do I have pain in the affected area, but I have gained pain in my lower jaw where I've never experienced pain before in my life. And this pain began after my last visit with the dental hygienist at this office. To add insult to injury, after I made my complaint about my pain, this office had the audacity to send me a "Dear John" letter firing me as a patient and refusing to rectify the issue. Also note: This office follows their patients on Instagram publicy which seems a bit intrusive. I don't want my Dentist knowing about my personal life, opinions, friends, religious and or political beliefs etc, because this knowledge can negatively affect the Doctor/Patient relationship and the quality of care received.

They recently upgraded their Pano to a 3D CT and when I asked the doctor about anticipated storage requirements for the 3D he told me the expected number of 3D scans was going to be much lower than I expected. and I said "You're not going to scan everyone?" he said "Hell, no!" "CT scans product more radiation than simple x-rays and we don't want to expose our patients to any more radiation than absolutely necessary." I didn't consider that, but it opened up my eyes to the thoughtfulness that the Doctors pay attention to when treating their patients. These aren't the things people talk about or look for in reviews so I thought people should know.

For context: I have avoided the dentist for years (regrettably and stupidly) and decided to finally come in to get an exam, to which they made me aware of the many cavities I had. The estimated services as well as my first examination, were definitely pricy, even with insurance. After the initial consultation, it made sense to me to hold off to try and save up for all the work I needed done. Once I eventually came in, Dr. Kane proceeded to interrogate me on why I did not schedule an appointment sooner, basically telling me I need to get my finances in order to get the work I needed done (which all makes total sense!). I explained that I am only working part-time at the moment since I am also going to school, so saving up takes a little longer than it would if I was only working--Dr. Kane was not satisfied with this response and continued to pry + lecture me. Although his intent seemed good, the delivery felt invasive. I did not appreciate him prying into my financial status, then proceeding to lecture me on finances/getting dental work done and then telling me I need to get my parents involved to help me pay; he even had the front desk give me a HIPAA form for my parents to sign and offered to call them personally. I understand the intention with wanting to help but Dr. Kane made me feel ashamed for taking a few months to get the funds needed for very expensive dental work. I am uncomfortable with making my parents fork over money for my self-inflicted issues, yet Dr. Kane was very insistent on getting them involved. I liked the practice up until this point. I don't deserve nor appreciate being shamed for not having an extra couple thousand dollars on hand! Additionally (and unrelated the previous experience), the front office has the tendency to call upwards of 5 times, with voicemails and texts to follow in one day just to confirm an appointment. I think a single call, with a single voicemail would suffice.
