    Chocolate croissant

I'm visiting family in Marblehead and had to try Farine, based on my love of French pastries. I got a chocolate croissant, pain aux raisins, a baguette, and based on the recommendation of the baker, a brioche pastry with blueberry filling. Everything looked so yummy! My mom and I split the blueberry brioche pastry, which was very flavorful. Unfortunately, we didn't eat the other items until the following day, and by that time, they had become chewy. These are delicious pastries, but take it from me, don't buy more than you can eat in one day.

We were in Marblehead for my brother's wedding and had to check out Farine after hearing great things. The recommendation was spot on! Every pastry we tried was incredible! We stopped by early at 8:30 AM on a Thursday, and everything was fresh and warm. The cashier recommended the Pain Aux Raisins and mentioned that these pastries sell out really fast. My brother suggested the chocolate croissants, and both were fantastic! Our favorites were the Vienna Bread, Chocolate Croissant, and Pain Aux Raisins. So many flakey layers and rich flavors! The staff was super friendly and patient, even as we ordered a ton for our family. Farine is a must-visit for amazing pastries and great service in Marblehead!

I wanted more of a groom's cake rather a traditional multilevel wedding cake. Ellen listened to my vague and lame ideas on cake shapes then steered me towards a wonderful design that incorporated aspects of the two grooms lives together. Two weeks later the cake was delivered and was a huge hit. PLUS it was delicious which is generally not something I expect in a wedding cake. Dark chocolate with vanilla butter cream and salted caramel = yum. A big thank you to Ellen!

Even though she wasnt on our "approved vendor list" at Tupper Manor, we used her anyways..THATS HOW GOOD HER CAKES ARE! we had lemon curd with vanilla cake and buttercream. OMG! when a cake is made by someone who uses quality ingredients and spends time (and her own hands, not a Factory) to make you a AMAZING looking cake, it shows. I love nachos and I love BLTs, and it's amazing how many places have managed to not do these two things well. I have never been able to find a place that can make a good BLT, until now! I needed a quick lunch today and went here on a whim because it was close by. I saw they were closing soon, but there were people inside so I headed in. Sometimes small, local coffee shops can feel drafty or unkempt or just lifeless. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I'd want to sit there for hours. The temperature was just right, and the ambiance felt friendly and warm. I acknowledged that they were closing soon and asked if I could still order a sandwich. They replied in a way that felt welcoming, and not like I was imposing on them (which some places, 15 minutes prior to closing, would have). I ordered the BLT and used the restroom while I waited. Even the restroom was pleasant! I sat in one of the two window bays on a comfortable stool (again, perfect! sometimes they're way too high for a 4'10" to get up on, or off), with a complimentary cup of water (I love when cafes have serve yourself water). One of the servers brought my sandwich over and even on first glance I could tell it was going to be good. No wilted lettuce, no weird bread, perfect amount of mayo and bacon. It was the best BLT I've had at a restaurant, even better than I make at home. So, 5 stars for great ambiance, friendly, unrushed service, and a great BLT! I have no doubt that their other food is just as good.

Very small, intimate place only open for brunch hours next door to the Marblehead little theatre. Also tried the pumpkin spice latte. Another win.
