To Whom This May Concern- I wanted to support Farm Inn today, but once again I was disappointed. After making the trip, I found the restaurant closed with no notice posted on social media or anywhere else that customers would check before visiting. The only thing that notified me was a small note on the door. Not only was this frustrating for me, but there were several people who were also disappointed due to this closure. I completely understand that unexpected situations happen. However, when a business needs to close unexpectedly, communicating that to customers is a basic courtesy. A simple post on Facebook or another social media platform only takes a few moments and can save people a wasted trip, along with their time and gas. I enjoy supporting local businesses, but clear and consistent communication is important. I hope the owners will make a greater effort to keep customers informed about closures in the future. read more

Had breakfast on 8/7/25 on our way home from an overnight stay in Shawano. It's a must stop every time we're in the area and the guest experience never fails. We used to be regulars here, but over time the quality of food and service has really gone down. Portions of hash browns are huge, but often the main platter is smaller. The prices are high for the quality, especially compared to the newer restaurants in town. There's no internet, or cell reception - if you ask you'll get a smug "we want people to be able to talk" - so don't expect to be able to come here to eat and work at the same time, or be able to look anything up while you're there. The cocktails and fish fry are also not worth your money, there are much better places to go around town. Hit or miss on service, today was not good service. Hostess went through 2 parties to take down names and then just ignored the 3rd party which was us. So I had to ask her to write our name down while she just ignored us. She needs to be replaced, lots of attitude to different customers and was 100 feet in-front if you like it was a race to seat you. Then our waitress... well that was just a fun experience. She was unbelievably rude to multiple tables when someone asked for a water refill it was "yep" she wasn't even busy. Somewhat surprised I haven't taken the time to review Farm Inn' as I've been here numerous times. Farm Inn' is a pleasant family style diner/cafe probably most notable for breakfast. A fairly large restaurant, seating plenty of people at one time. A pleasant up north/farm type feel about the place and conveniently located on Shawano's main downtown strip. Very reasonable prices coupled with pretty generous portions. The meals are standard diner type faire that one should expect in a breakfast place. I've had the meat lovers breakfast skillet & often it's too much to finish, which for me is saying something. While it's good, it comes a little bland and could really use a kick of something beyond salt/pepper. The burger/fries are surprisingly good for a diner as is the Friday evening fish fry. My rating is basing Farm Inn' on that of a small town diner and not an extravagant dining experience. Reasonable prices, friendly service & food worthy of coming back for. First Friday of Lent, you just have to head for a fish fry with the folks. Hey I don't make the rules I just follow them. So we headed in ordered the dinner... And the fish were amazing, great breading large flakey chunks of fried goodness. The meal was incredible. But even better was the server. On the receipt it said her name was "Jersey" and this Garden State lady was the best server we have had outside a 5 star joint. Our beverages were refilled before they were empty. I was low on ketchup and it magically appeared. Even better she had a fantastic attitude, terrific sense of humor and just freaking nice. We will ask for section every time we come back! read more

Along with the huge choice of pies it is well worth the 2 mile drive off the highway. Only drawback is it seemed that half the staff were in training so service could have been better. Very disappointed. WI currently has an indoor mask mandate. I still want to patronize local restaurants via Take-out! However, when I picked up my to-go order today, NO ONE EXCEPT 1 PERSON HAD A MASK ON! Well this place is just adorable! I got into town around noon to visit some friends for the weekend. We were all hungry and this is where they brought me. We arrived around 1 or maybe 1:30. The inside and outside alike are super cute! Very much a farm/barnyard/country theme, but tastefully done. We were seated pretty quickly and greeted immediately by our server. I went with the Eggs Benedict for my meal. You'll notice there is no photo - unfortunately I was too hungry to wait and just dove right in. It was SO good! The eggs were basted instead of poached. Honestly, I didn't notice too much of a difference, but I did like that the eggs didn't have any of that yucky runny under cooked egg-white slime going on that you do sometimes get with traditionally poached eggs. The Hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious and it was a very generous amount. I was able to scoop a bunch of it onto my perfectly cooked hashbrowns. Delish! The prices were really low, too, so that was a nice bonus! A great deal for sure. Easy on the wallet and filling in the tummy! They also had lots of freshly baked breads available for purchase. My friends grabbed a loaf of cinnamon something and it looked and smelled amazing. I didn't try any myself, but they both said it was great when they were munching on it later in the day. read more

As soon as you walk in you feel the warmth of rural America. The staff is very friendly and the decoration is farm themed. We were looking for a break from the casino food and we got more than what we bargained for. I had the rib eye and Poor man's lobster with a side of mashed potatoes and cole slaw everything was delicious. For desert I tried the Reese's pie and chocolate pie both were freshly made and smooth and not overwhelmingly sweet like other places.
