Disappointing. Waited an hour for bland fish tacos. Service inattentive. This was my 5th time and 4 times food was exceptional. I don't know what happened. Maybe cause owners are not on premises. I will pay a little more for CSA supported non-GMO food but not for small portions that are bland. Barley soup too salty, no condiments for overpriced French fries or bratwurst. I raved about this place to my other 3 friends. Frankly I was embarrassed. I do not plan to return for more disappointment. Farm Table started out strong but sadly fizzled out. I really really wanted to love this place, unfortunately I had the opposite experience. If it wasn't for the outstanding service I would have given 1 star. The menu was way too limited. I understand it's a farm to table restaurant which relies on local produce in the dead of winter, but..... No seasoning of any kind on the lifeless and thoughtless chicken salad sandwich. It was served on a way too thickly cut slice of dense rye bread which made it awkward at best. The chili was alright, nothing special. My spouses meal, also beyond bland. Sunday Brunch. On a cool blustery day, this place was perfect for brunch with a friend. We both had French toast. The menu changes somewhat often, so it was on a cinnamon raisin bread that was perfect for the maple syrup and fresh cream it came served with. There were no real sides on the menu, but they were nice to accommodate our request for some side of scrambled eggs. I definitely recommend! read more

I love the IDEA of this restaurant as we've gone a number of times in the last 3 years. Although the service is the thing that continues to remain consistently inadequate. Today we had the Reuben (yum!) and the tomato basil soup - meh like someone forgot to season it and and a not real "fresh" taste. I'd go back for the food. Yet the service was slow, and inattentive (lack of refills on water, coffee). Got the impression that our coming in was a bit of in inconvenience to the server. There were 3 of us, could sit anywhere. The only tables open were the big rounds for 6. A 4-top opened as we sat down and we asked for that when it was cleared. We wound up clearing up the dishes ourselves and moving over there, as it didn't seem this was a priority for the sever (even though there were only 4 other tables occupied in the place, not busy). What an oasis of healthy deliciousness! We were excited and relieved when we walked in the door and smelled 'real' coffee for the first time in days. The food offerings were outstanding! Fresh rabbit, whitefish and beef prepared with unique recipes using local root vegetables and other offerings. Good fresh food and interesting menu but terrible service. Staff far outnumbered customers and we had to wait and ask twice for things. We love this idea and want you to be successful, please train your staff to take care of the customers or we fear people won't revisit. We ate dinner here on Friday night and couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere is fabulous; something you would expect in a much larger city. The wine was great and extremely reasonably priced. We had the Whitefish and the Chicken. Both were excellent. You are missing the point of this dish entirely. Golden yolk eggs, POACHED in a rich and often spicy tomato sauce, fused by the heat of a well seasoned cast iron pan. First and last visit. We had four people in our party at 11:30 a.m. on a Thursday for lunch. Very well decorated and comfortable. I usually like this type of restaurant and was sadly disappointed in this one. Our meal arrived almost 30 minutes after we ordered. There were only four other people in the restaurant so we couldn't determine why it took so much time. A person in our party ordered a craft beer, and had to ask twice before it was served. The rest of us chose to drink water because the drinks were so expensive. Two of us ordered Cheeseburgers, and the burger was terrific. My french fries (an added cost) were soggy. My husband ordered a breakfast that arrived with a glass of sour milk. He told the waitress and she said she would open a fresh carton - and she did. The eggs were flavorless and wet as if they were rinsed before serving. The toast was 2 tiny pieces of stale sourdough bread. The best part of our visit was being with friends and we had plenty of time to visit since the food took so long. Read the menu carefully for the sauce information. On a different note, I noticed that the women's restroom is also labeled a "changing station". Don't men in Amery change diapers? This was a surprise for 2018. read more

This is the third time we have eaten there and it never disappoints. It's worth the drive to know the food we eat is free from chemicals and hormones. They are about to switch to their summer menu and I was thrilled to find the beet salad with greens, candied pecans, wild rice and dried cherries was still available. I've craved it since the last time I had it. My husband had the bratwurst and it was closer to a good German brat than any we have had in the US. The saltiest veggie, rice, and ham soup I have ever had in my life -- like 10 times too salty. It was unbearable to the point where I winced with every spoonful. Gave up after a few. I can't believe 1) the chef would let such an atrocity leave the kitchen and 2) the restaurant would still charge us $8 for two cups of the foulest soup. The lunch menu was very small and plain -- disappointing for a farm to table place. Nice try Amery, but not good enough, not even close. Came for Sunday brunch. French toast was generous and magnificent, soft bread, fruit compote--delicious. The farmer's hash--fresh and heavenly. Service was relaxed, personal and attentive. We couldn't resist trying the freshly homemade pie---today it was strawberry-rhubarb---and crust was flakey and beautiful. We'll definitely return and bring friends. I wanted to like this place. The French onion soup and roasted carrots were delicious. I ordered a steak medium to medium well. It came out bleeding. Sent it back. Almost 10 minutes later, waitress brought it back saying it was cooked nearly to well done. ???? I didn't want well done. Not to worry though....because it was still blood red on the inside. I didn't want it by then and thankfully they didn't charge us for it. My husband ordered the chicken and dumplings. Being from the south, it was not what we expected...at all. The dumplings were hard and over cooked and there was barely any chicken in it. Honestly, it was more like pho (without the noodles) and hard "dumplings". It had random vegetables that don't typically go in traditional chicken and dumplings. Very misleading. Perhaps stating that it's " WI version of chicken dumplings" might be more accurate. A very welcome addition to the area, which is bereft of many choices other than dive bars (which I don't mind at all, other than the beer selection), fast food, and family restaurants. Has a limited but nicely curated beer and wine selection. Food is very good, a short menu which I personally appreciate. Atmosphere is very upscale but welcoming. Food was good but service was very slow. The waitstaff were friendly- which is great but meant we sat without drinks or ordering while the one waitress working the tables was being very friendly and helping another table for a long time. They are obviously not interested in catering to families as they have no kids menu (they did offer a grilled cheese sandwich which was not on the menu) or crayons or anything to help occupy kids. The menu is small but ordering was almost painful because of all the questions and explantions needed with every entree. The food came very quickly after we were finally able to order. I had the gnocchi and it was fine- not spectacular as the pork was obviously reheated and overcooked and there was not much flavor overall. My mom had the pot roast and loved it. The rest of our party had burgers which they liked. The waitress made a point to ask how they wanted the burgers done but all the burgers came out the same regardless of what they asked. My kids had dessert and loved it- especially the Blood Orange Sorbet. Overall, the decor is great, the food is good and would be a great place to relax with another adult over dinner but if you don't have a lot of time or have kids with you, this is maybe not the best place. read more
