    Smashed hash

Fun place! Great for dates, family outings and mid-size gatherings with a warm/hippy atmosphere. All the food is farm fresh and you can read about what farm(s) your food is coming from across various signage. In the summer, you can enjoy the outside patio and there is always inside seating with generous spatial room. The coffee bar is my favorite! Lots of options both warm and iced. For brunch I recommend the mushroom omelette, quiche or the smashed hash - all outstanding. In the front of the restaurant is a mini shop with locally made gifts along with bakery items and take and bake items. They also offer various cooking classes so be sure to check out their website / social media page for dates.

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! This place is sooooo cute. This farm to table restaurant uses all local food from farms. I had the smashed hash with bacon. It was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. The flavor was out standing. Every bite I was in shock!! I can't wait to spend my summer here!!!

Why didn't the waitress ask why I was leaving all this food?

I want to give this place 5 stars but I just can't! Here is the good part. Great ambiance, great patio and great parking. Here's the deal. It feels like no friend of the owner/chef has given any real feedback. I've tried this place 3 times and have always been disappointed. Here are some questions for the chef. -what is going on with your pizza dough? Please google how to make pizza dough - salt and pepper - it's a spice that you should have on the table and your food needs it - staff - not really cool - special Italian beef sandwich sucks (see pic below of a sandwich I couldn't finish!) - ketchup WTF WTF WTF?!?!??!! It's like tomato paste. Buy organic Heinz ketchup if you don't know what ketchup tastes like but want to be local, organic, or whatever!! Anyway, cool place but the food isn't that good. I agree that local is awesome but that doesn't mean you can just buy a bunch of local products and throw them together and call it a meal. Please think about a real recipe for whatever is in season. Spices and seasoning are there for a reason. I want you to succeed so please don't take this the wrong way. I just don't think you have gotten good feedback!

Rueben with a twist - EPIC

Fun find off of the main drag in Amery. Get the Blood Mary- unique flavor! We had the Flathead mushroom omelette, a sausage patty (yum), the Rueben with a twist (level 10 flavor), and the breakfast potatoes (surreal). We will be back!

Great outdoor patio seating. Beautiful presentation of the food! They allow dogs on the patio to make a great family outing.

The food was fantastic but it took a couple hours to arrive, in piecemeal!! They also gave us an extra Bloody Mary when we didn't order one, messed up my friends drink, did not bring the other patron his syrup, brought my sauerkraut out and hour before my eggs, they did not tell me they couldn't poach eggs until they brought me sunny side up eggs, and they switched the waitstaff on us mid-meal. Trent tried hard but he needs training. The toast and skillet were fantastic though. I will go back but only if I take a half day off work next time.

Solid 4-stars. Food was good, but portion size was a bit small. Had one of the specials, a goat sandwich, and the meat was a bit tough. Ambiance was super cute, hipstery vibe.

Spotted Cow beer battered cheese curds with spicy mayo and green ranch dip. Seriously, worth every calorie!

Fabulous, healthy, homemade local food from brunch to dinner. They have something for everyone with healthy salads and kombucha to burgers, cheese curds, and cocktails. I also really appreciate that with the current climate as it is this is an ultra clean and safe place to eat. The outdoor patio is accessible from the street or parking lot so you don't have to step foot inside the restaurant if you choose but they also have indoor seating. All staff wear masks and gloves and there are disposable menus.

The staff and servers were extremely kind and patient and the atmosphere was cozy and calm. Best part? Breakfast is served all day!! There is a fireplace near the center of the dining space with many booths and tables. We treated my 102 year old grandpa here and he loved it because the coffee and food were super hot - just how he likes it. My family split the fried green beans with ranch and then my mom and grandpa got the senior ribs (yes they offer senior discounts) and I had the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and a pancake. The food was cooked perfectly and wasn't overly greasy. We all agreed we would be back very soon for our next get together. Thank you, Amery Family Restaurant!

Inedible , cold meatloaf covered in a brown glop , 3 slabs of what was called turkey but looked like frozen processed turkey roll and a leathery meat they tried to pass off as pastrami in a Reuben ... all very bad , we expressed our displeasure and they did nothing to correct or compensate the problem ... we will never be back , and I advise you to only go their for scrambled eggs and toast because you really cannot ruin that meal !

In the end, the three of us agreed that we definitely had a 5 star experience. We arrived at opening and we happened to be served by the owner himself - a really nice guy. He gave us a brief history of the bar, which is extensive. The Old Saloon has been around with the current name since 1975 (the building is a lot older). The current owner has been at the helm for 30 years! Obviously, he's knows what he's doing. Our food was excellent...everything from the Ellsworth Cheese Curds, the wings, the salad, the burger, the Chicago style hotdog, and the savory mac & cheese soup! Of course, since this is Wisconsin, they have a great selection of beer on tap. The prices were amazingly reasonable to. We probably would have paid double in the Twin Cities. The décor is cool too. Apparently, the owner's wife is the chief decorator and she does a great job. I particularly love the vintage and antique stuff. They have some very old and rare original neon signs, an old Schwinn Phantom, and an antique penny scale. There are a few reproductions here & there but most of it is totally original. Cool! Thanks for a great experience! Thumbs up! - Maxx

The bar tender told us they only have a breakfast buffet on Sundays. While I was looking at the breakfast buffet, a gentleman approached and asked if we were staying for the buffet. I explained we were in town for the gymnastics tournament and were looking for food to go so we could feed our kids who were at the gym. His name is Harry, and he owns Lucky's Bar and Grill. Harry said the buffet items probably wouldn't work, and the grill is closed but he does have some home-made pizzas that he could make. Harry was so overly-accomodating and treated us like family. The pizzas were awesome and Harry, you are the best!

Clear Lake has a populaiton of about 1000 with a downtown of five to six square blocks surrounded by many churches with a long history of German and Norwegian settlment dating back to the late 1800's. Lucky's Bar and Grill is the primary meeting spot for the locals. I ate breakfast with my cousin two mornings in a row and was invited to join the revolving table of strongly opinionated farmers and farm equipment manufacturers. After a few minutes I could quickly see politics and farming were the two primary topics of discussion. I will duck the biased political viewpoints but one of the farmers had an interesting point. Why are we growing corn to make ethanol when there is plenty of oil in the ground. From a farmer's perspective maybe he is correct and we need to look for oil in the right location. Another farmer and his twin brother invented the mechanical bean picker while in high school and run a farm equipment company a few blocks away employing a hundred people. Later in the morning we stopped by to visit PBO and received the cooks tour. PBO is also known for making civil war cannon replicas down to the last detail and fires them at many civil war functions around the country. Another farmer puts out scores of nesting boxes for martins which are similar to swallows. We also visited his farm and saw tens of martins flying all over the place. All in all a lively hour long form of entertainment plus cheap breakfast with farm fresh eggs, bacon, toast or oatmeal and toast. Where else can you get breakfast for three with coffee for under $15 and be entertained?
