I had the worst experience with Farmers Exchange. We purchased a new 31" dual blade Toro mower along with fertilizer spreader, blower, weed eater, pottery and bags of fertilizer to start off the season. My compliant is with the below par customer service. My new mower didn't make it through the first mowing of my front yard. It literally died during the mowing process. I called Farmers Exchange to pick it up and have service take a look at it --- fast forward 6 weeks. Not once did they contact us with what was wrong with it, we were always the ones that were chasing them for answers. We were told that the problem was one of three things and that parts were on order. We visited their shop to check the status and we couldn't get a straight answer. Then on a Friday afternoon (4:15) a truck pulled up to my house and dropped the mower off, not a phone call to see if anyone was home or a courtesy call to let us know it was even ready for delivery. If it wasn't for a contractor being at our house, who knows if the mower would even have been there when we got home. Needless to say, Farmers Exchange got a very heated call from me to permanently pick up this mower. I was very annoyed that during the time they had the mower, they didn't offer us a replacement, a loaner or an apology. I did however get the opportunity to speak with the owner during my final phone call. His staff had told me he would be calling me to work things out with me and I never did hear from him UNTIL I called and told them they need to pick up their merchandise - then of course he spoke with me. My lawn is still recovering from the oil that had leaked out of the mower leaving behind strips of dead lawn. We ended up purchasing a mower from another local business. read more

I had a racecar of a chainsaw that broke down on me and they used excellent teamwork and expert-level knowledge of Huskvarna's tech-support to get me a new saw on the timeline that I needed it in. Just purchased a zero turn mower, the help was excellent as I looked around and asked questions for over 30 minutes. All answered and staff was polite and helpful. Excellent place to buy lawn and garden equipment. So nice to buy from staff that actually has knowledge of the equipment for sale that most big box stores do not. I took in a well running walk behind mower for a tune up and to have the fuel tank replaced. Set me back $317. I could've bought a new one. avoid buying parts from this store. I asked my son to buy me a belt for my Toro riding mower. I was surprised that they sold him the belt for $80.0 double the regular price at other retailers and $20 more than the listed price at their their website. Had a repair and maintenance completed on my Toro walk behind. Pleased with the work. Took two weeks. All the negative reviews made me a bit anxious but they did a decent job. Repair cost 580.00. I needed to get my 16" Craftsman chainsaw fixed and took it into Farmers Exchange because I was told they were a Huskvarna dealer and this Craftsman was made by Husky. When I brought the saw in I was told I would have to pay up front a $41.50 fee in order for them to look at the saw. Thinking that I was going to have them fix it anyway I agreed, paid the $41.50 and left the saw with them. At the time they tried to convince me to buy a new saw bu8t I explained that my little Craftsman was a good saw that just needed a little work. The next day they called me and told me the quote was just over $200 to repair the saw! I was very unhappy as I suspected this was a scam so I picked up the saw (in pieces) and took it over to EFC Equipment in Richland. They repaired the saw for $60 and explained that there was very little wrong with it. I will NEVER take another thing to Farmers Exchange as it was clear they were justing trying to scam me. Don't waste your money! Go straight to EFC Equipment in Richland and see Buck. He's honest and fair unlike these rip offs. read more

Worst return policy in the Tri-Cities!!! I got a lawn mower that I thought was a good machine. Went home and found only negative reviews for the lawn mower so I decided I wanted a Honda lawn mower instead. Went to get my money back and they said there would be a 25% return policy. That's $100 on my $400 purchase. They showed me their posted policy that is 15 feet in the air and in small writing. I ended up being stuck with a mower I don't want because they don't have customer service to take back an unused item that I bought a week ago. I will never go back to their place of business. I wouldn't even give a star! Brought my new mower in for a missing screw. Salesperson talked me into a $125 spring maintenance which would take a week. 8 days later, I'm told they had to order a part which was there but needed to be put on. I called back in 4 days and was told part still wasn't in. Two different stories told and when we demanded our mower refunded they called us back in less than 30 minutes saying our mower was done, can be picked up. They didn't do 1/2 the service on it that I paid for. No oil in it, blades not sharpened, mower just sprayed with water, it's not starting easy. Beware of this shady business. I had a rider lawn mower repaired, and it was done in a fair amount of time, and definitely at a fair price. On three occasions in the past 10 years I have been to Farmer's Exchange. All have been bad experiences. The first time about 10 years ago I called to ask if they had lawn rollers to loan. After confirming they did, I drove across town to pick it up and was told I had to buy a minimum of $50.00 in products to use a "free" lawn roller. The second time several years later after reluctantly deciding to try them again I tried to locate a pesticide that is highly recommended for slugs and is otherwise harmless and is specific to slugs. It is commercially used in local fruit orchards. I was treated rudely and swore to never return. But alas my 83 year old father in law bought me a second trimmer a few weeks ago. I already have one. With great reluctance I attempted to return it and was refused. Customer service has been consistently horrid. I have learned my lesson. read more

We recently ordered parts for a Husqvarna riding lawn mower on May 23rd and to this date have not received our parts, I have spoken with manager of the parts department 3 times about this and he is very unprofessional ! On May 23rd 2017 I Called and placed an order for said lawn mower parts and was told a 10 to 12 business day was what we would have to wait for these parts, I paid with a debit card over the phone to place the order, I was not told of the amount that was being charged to the debit card ,yes partly my fault for not asking the amount! That afternoon I get on my bank account and to my surprise I seen a charge for $1,175.78 I thought to my self that is way to much money for the little amount of parts, so I waited for Mario of Mario's yard care to come home and let him know of the charges ,he immediately said no that's to much money, within 24 hours he called back and spoke with Tony the manager and explained the wrong part was ordered and to please cancel that order and was told that there was nothing he could do about it, it was a special order part and we had to pay it ! Since this date I have spoken with him and not once was he nice or professional at all, never once even cared to let me know in his words ETA !! The last time I spoke with him he had not one ounce of compassion for my concerns or care about my complaints!! I stressed to him how frustrating it was not having a lawn mower and that we have had to rent or borrow one to use for the mean time, his response to me was OKAY ??? As a business owner myself I understand how it is to deal with the public, but I always to try my best to let the customer know I care and try to fix what ever may be the problem! We will no longer be doing business with them at all! (unless they change management) Please if you do order from them be careful of the charges!!! read more

don't buy used equipment from farmers exchange! I purchased a 2013 toro mower with a new engine. Sales man stated that I could save $1000 by not going with a new one since this one had a new engine and was only 3 years old! After the first use they had to replace the brand new engine because the head was cracked. Sent it back but when it was either in the shop or delivered the weld was broken on the exhaust. Well guess what the lawn mower was a 2003 model! So far we have not been able to mow the yard once without a problem. After receiving the mower back after fighting to have them fix the muffler THEY broke the belt to spin the blade broke bought a new one figured it was just a fluke. out the new $70 belt on and after mowing for less than 5 minutes the brand new belt broke again. They had brought my mower back once again with another new problem! Keith the owner tells me not his problem was sold as is and that his sales person wouldn't have said it was a 2013. Well folks look up prices for 2013 toro mowers and you will find the price we paid. $1500 now look up a 2003 model hmmmm. Kinda fishy. BAD BUSINESS!!!!!! Don't get swindled like I did! read more

In May my 89 year old mother bought a used riding lawn mower. On the surface it looked great. She has used it not more than 10 times and it has not been right from the beginning. The last time it was ran it melted all the plastic under the hood. She called them and was told they don't sell John Deere nor service them and to call someone else. Mind you she bought it from them! I drove in to their store to talk to them about it. They were very rude and lied about the whole thing. I asked to talk with Keith S. (owner). He wasn't available and I asked for him to call me. I also said you don't want bad word of mouth out. Well Keith called my mother the following day, told her he wouldn't talk with me because I was rude. He got her terribly upset. I suggest you use ANY place else than Farmer's Exchange. My mother has been a loyal customer for over 50 years and her money is down the drain with zero remorse from Farmer's Exchange. How far a little common sense and customer service would have gone. Sure wished I would have read these reviews before letting her buy that junker. read more

Terrible Customer Service - Purchased A Husa HU625 HWT - A Wheeled Trimmer (Weed String Trimmer with 2 Wheels) - Took it home and tried it out. Ir was a terrible machine. Really way more work than a regular string trimmer. Dangerous - if it starts to pull you down you can't let go because you hands lock down harder and you can't let go. Ken verified this as well, as it happened to him. I called and spoke with the owner at Farmers Exchange. "The Buck Stops Here", according to Keith. He said they would refund my money, well, except for 25%. I said," I only just took it home and tried it". The owner was very rude and said that was that. Don't by anything here. Wouldn't even try. Basic stuff, wheel, spark plug, filter, bag and a new drive cable. Didn't even try. I just picked up my mantis tiller from the service department and was very disappointed.I just wanted fuel lines put on and they could start it. They preceded to charge me for services I did not ask for. The bill was way over the quoted amount. I got a half hearted apology and still had to pay the fee.
