The seller and the other agent were cool but Old Republic just created problems when issuing the refund. First I was told that it would take 10 business days to get a refund. When I pushed back then the office changed its tune and said that I could have the refund sooner but I needed to send them proof that Old Republic had already cashed my earnest money check. After I did that then I had to keep calling to see when they would cut the check. Took a few calls to get that set up. The day the check was going to be written for the refund I was told that there was an issue with the release of earnest money paperwork and I had to go back to the seller and fix it. I was lucky that the seller's broker was understanding and quick to fix the issue. This whole thing took three full days of my time. I had to go Old Republic's office to get the check. This office took no ownership of explaining the earnest money refund process. No empathy towards the other person and no regard for their time. I was left to figure out the whole thing on my own. I would suggest using another title company that respects you time and money!

Last year one of her employees cancelled my home owners policy so my home had no insurance for over a month before the BANK informed me that my policy had been cancelled. Then they never processed my flood insurance request so I had no flood insurance even though I live right on a bayou. They apologized and told me they'd do better so I stayed with them. Well, today was the last straw; I had a water pipe break on the weekend. I got the water turned off, and then I called the office because I didn't know what steps to take next because I knew this would be an insurance claim based on the amount of damage. The office recording said, "If this is an emergency, call Debbie at home at...." So I called the number because I didn't know what I needed to do and I wanted her to guide me. No answer on the "emergency contact" number. So I left a message thinking someone will call me back quickly. Nope. They finally called after almost 36 hours. I advised them I'd already taken care of the issue myself. Not exactly helpful to say "call this number in an emergency" and then to never bother answering your emergency calls. This is what I pay an insurance agent for... that THEY handle all this and I don't have to phone insurance companies, and figure out what I'm supposed to do and when. If I wanted to be ignored in an emergency I'd go with eSurance or some cheap online service insurance company that doesn't have agents. An insurance agent is supposed to be MY support during a crisis. Frankly I'm not getting that at all anymore... so I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. So disappointed.

In April 2025-only one month later, I spoke to Marcus at Allstate and reduced one of three vehicles on my policy to liability only, which dropped my premium from $435 to $276/month. So when I get a bill for $428, I was confused. I called and spoke with Gisela, who, again, ran the changes but she came up with $280 and sent me back to Marcus, who never called me back. Called again and spoke to Tony-she was the ONLY helpful and knowledgeable agent I spoke with. She assured me the changes were in the system and she said she sent a message to the billing department to see what was going on. No response. Called AGAIN and spoke to Marcus again and he said he would get with billing and call me back. No call back. (So this has been three weeks by now.) Called again and spoke to Gisela. Again with the run around. In this conversation, I found out they included two different add-ons that I never requested. What?! How does that even happen without my consent? So Gisela removed the add-ons and assured me the changes were in their system even though the Allstate app on my phone still reflects a $428 premium. I called the very next day and spoke to Gisela again because the updates weren't on the app. She said the only thing left to do (since I have spoken to all the reps in the office) is to escalate the issue to her manager because there is nothing they (agents) can do even though they tried. Seriously? STILL no call back from Gisela or the manager regarding the escalation 7 days later. Here it is May and the problem STILL hasn't been fixed. I have never dealt with such poor customer service in my life. I called my previous State Farm agent yesterday and opened another policy with that office. Yes, I pay $50 more, but sometimes it's true you get what you pay for. Less isn't always better. I called Allstate and canceled that policy this morning with Marcus. Let's see if he can make it happen. I have my doubts. Unfortunately, I have no faith in the Christian Vien agency. I will be checking every day for a cancellation update. I hope anyone signing with this agency has a better experience than I.
