Cool coffee shop in a fun area. It is has an open layout with great natural lighting. Seems like a great place to meet friends at, or to sit and do work. I got the brewed coffee of the day, Lida, which was extremely bitter and after about five sips, I tossed it, hence the three stars. But they had some espresso drinks and bakery items that sounded and looked good, so I will try them again at some point. read more

Very friendly staff! Their lavender latte was very good, nice floral tones in their lighter roast coffee as well. My boyfriend got the cortado with honey which was recommended by the barista; it was one of the best cortados he has ever had. The food was good but not great, hence the four stars. I've sensed for some time that Eugene's coffee scene has been in dire need of some fresh blood. Farmers Union is an infusion of life into the coffee doldrums around these parts. The coffee (at least what I've tried thus far) is delicious, and the baristas are friendly and talented. Mostly, I'm just pleased that Farmers Union has accomplished two amazing feats: 1) It has replaced the dubious Beanery, which I loved as an actual coffee shop and place to chill. It's also where my wife and I went on our first date a decade ago. However, the coffee was lousy, and the staff consistently off-putting and ambivalent. Farmers Union has succeeded in creating the coffee space that I had always wanted the Beanery to be. It has returned the love and magic, and rekindled memories my wife and I are deeply endeared to. And... 2) You get damn fine coffee without the haughty hipster attitude, or the noxious stench of armpits stinging your nostrils. Win, win. I don't think it's a stretch to say this nascent roaster is already one of Eugene's best coffee spots. And being just a five minute walk away from our house, we'll be around. read more

The seasonal sweet potato cappuccino was amazing, great if you want something fall-like that's not overly sweet and typical pumpkin spice. It was a great place to focus and get some work done. This is my absolute favorite coffeehouse in Eugene. The crew who work here are so nice, (especially Taylor) and their coffee is amazing. Nice enough place with just a couple tables and a bunch more (uncomfortable) benches. Beautiful outside place to sit and sip coffee, away from the street. But, the coffee was "just ok", a little bitter for my tastebuds (cappuccino with regular milk). They have choices in milk: cow, home made almond, oat. A selection of stuff to eat with it. We had avocado toast on sourdough, and an apple scone. Both underwhelming. Service was strange, other people ordering after us got their coffee a lot sooner despite it being almost the same as our order. Avocado toast was brought to our table but we had to ask again about the apple scone. Overall, a bit disappointing read more

Employees were nice and helpful with answering my questions when I visited for the first time. Prices are kind of expensive but it is worth it cause their drinks and food are that good. Really cute decor and appealing in terms of looks, but very little food options, only quiches and overpriced savory scones. Everything is super overpriced and the menu is really limited for *aesthetic appeal*. My 12 oz iced latte with almond milk was $5.50 and came with only 3 big cube ice cubes... I was very disappointed in the flavor of the drink as well. Not worth it sadly :-( Note: if you're a chai drinker, the only chai they have is in ginger or turmeric flavors. read more

What an adorable, warms and welcoming space. I had been to the shops next door, but this is my first time at the coffee shop. It's very open, bright and cozy inside. The menu is simple and their food case is appealing. My 3-year old went to it immediately and requested a small raspberry topped cake. I got the 16 oz drop coffee with room and it's delicious. The coffee is very high quality and the attention to organic and natural products is evident. There is a small children's play area and kid sized tables which my kid loved. Wonderful service and nice interiors give this place a 3-star edge, but unfortunately, the oat milk lattes were the ultimate letdown. Don't get a matcha latte here; they skimp on the matcha, so the whole thing tastes like green water. The oat milk latte was marginally better, but the espresso had an ashy aftertaste and the oat milk was watery (rather than creamy like other coffeehouses). For $6+ and tip, I expected a higher quality product, but the baristas seem very sweet and there are a lot of outdoor seating. read more

My mom and I are visiting Eugene to see my 77-year-old grandmother with health issues so we wear masks in public and my mom was laughed at for wearing a mask by one of the baristas who has brown hair, somewhat of a mustache, and glasses. My mom asked the barista "Are you laughing at my mask?" And he said, "Kind of" and continued laughing. I emailed the owners, and while they apologized and said they would remind staff to be courteous to others, overall the response was dismissive. The owner wrote that nobody who works there fits the description (an outright lie), they hoped it was a miscommunication, and they were surprised because many staff members wear masks (none were wearing a mask when my mom visited.) I would expect more from a business operating in the middle of a pandemic. Yes, I know it would be convenient to think that the pandemic is over, but it indeed is not, and people wear masks for a variety of health reasons and to be courteous to others and should NOT be laughed at and made to feel foolish. Very disappointed. The coffee was good, so out of fairness I am adding a star for the coffee quality. Do better. read more

As a trans person it is very upsetting to have my "legal name" / deadname called out in a public space (or at all). For some folks it is a safrety concern as well. When this happened to me at Farmer's Union, I respectfully told the barista that this is an issue for a lot of transfolks, myself included, and it could be avoided by calling the order instead of the name on a card. They got defensive and said I should tell the person who took my order to call out a different name every time. It should be not a queer / trans person's responsibility to anticipate this issue everywhere they go - many places are sensitive to queer experience and have already changed their policies to calling out orders instead of names. I'm rating this establishment 3 stars bc of the policy of calling out legal names plus the barista's defensiveness made it an uncomfortable space for me as a queer person. I hope they'll amend this unnecessary business habit bc the food & coffee at good, the space is nice, & the person who took my order was very kind. Order names not deadnames, please. read more

OK folks. I have tasted Nirvana and I can't stop thinking about it. Farmers Union Coffee has created a vegan frozen latte. It was a hot day so I gave it a go. The house made, nut milk combo they use (almond and hazelnut,I believe) leaves that fatty coating on the tongue just like an actual dairy product would. The ice crystals are a perfect consistency. The coffee flavor was amazing. The buzz I got from this beverage was the perfect caffeine, sugar WOW. You know that perfect buzz. The world looks brighter, the people more interesting. It was one of the best things I have experienced and is in my memory banks as a do again culinary experience. Talk about a pick me up! I want more! read more

Lots of places to sit - either by yourself or at the community table. Love the kids area - you can easily see your kiddos, yet let them be independent and play. The avocado toast is awesome. Also love that they have other drinks besides coffee (iced teas, kombucha, etc.). One minor complaint is the lack of outlets spaced around the place (although I get you don't want people squatting with their computers all day). read more

Eugene's newest hipster coffee shop. The drip coffee is delicious and you get a free refill. The gf's americano was reported as tasty and wonderful. The menu items look delicious especially the avocado toast. One point of contention is the seating. There are few tables, but lots of community tables. If you're comfortable with that Farmers Union will suit nicely. The overall ambiance was warm and welcoming in the old Allan Bros space. Enjoy! read more

They have been more than accommodating during COVID-19. So happy they are open, delicious coffee is needed more than ever! They even did free shipping for months when the pandemic hit! The menu changed for takeout and among the mouth watering new sandwiches they have, they also have vegan options! I'm addicted to the cheese Danish! Between the outstanding coffee and beautiful people serving customers it is by far the most welcoming place around.
