My fav spot to grab coffee in Eugene! It's within walking distance from my office and when I need a little pick me up, it's my go to spot! The coffee is always wonderful and they have a great selection of coffee to take home as well! The customer service is always fantastic. You can either enjoy your coffee on site or take it go! This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Eugene! The place is decent-sized, with lots of seating and study space, but it gets very busy. Today I came to get some homework done and ordered a London Fog latte with oat milk for $5. I often get London Fog lattes, but the Farmers Union one today has been one of my favorites! They use some lavender in the tea, which makes it great! The staff here are amiable and attentive, with a wide variety of coffee drinks and food available. On a previous visit, I tried the vegan breakfast burrito, which was delicious. I recommend coming here for high-quality coffee and tea drinks and an excellent study spot. read more

This is the best coffee shop in Eugene. I'm not sure the coffee itself is 5 stars, but 4.5 for sure. (I'm just not a freak about the finer points.) It's always busy, always, which is good for everybody. It's also a cool community center, great bulletin board, lot's of cool people. I live downtown,so it works best for me. The roasters are too notch; I enjoy watching them work. The menu us good; the avocado toast, while a little pricey is my favorite breakfast in Eugene my sole (personal) complaint is that my coffee (double cap, or oat-milk latte so yes there's milk in there) is NEVER hot, and sometimes not even warm. Throughout this Pandemic, I have had the opportunity to revisit a few of my regular pre-covid stomping grounds. My most recent revisit to Farmers Union had a bit of an emotional impact on me. Upon walking through their doors for the first time in nearly a year, a weighted sense of sentimentality and woe washed over me. A quite opposite feeling I would normally experience when entering this usually warm and cozy cafe. Seeing their chairs stacked upon their tables made me long for the days of sitting in the lobby drinking a warm cappuccino out of a porcelain mug. Taking breaks from staring at my laptop screen to watch adorable children stumble around in the play area. Absorbing that comfortable feeling from the pleasant ambience of conversation and espresso machines. I didn't realize how much I have missed my former normal life until this moment. I really appreciate everything that Farmers, and other Eugene businesses, had to do to in order to keep their doors open. I can't imagine how difficult this time has been for all our local small business owners. I ordered my usual oat milk cappuccino and pastry. I also picked up a bag of their whole bean coffee to take home. Everything was delicious, of course. I just wanted to take a this opportunity to say thank you to all the people who are continuing to work within the service industry. You are risking your health on the daily just to usher some sense of normalcy for the rest of us. Thank you. read more

I enjoy stopping by for a quick cuppa coffee. On my way to go rock climbing. Parking is usually easy to find since they have a rather large parking area. They have a nice patio outside. That's pleasant when it's not rainy. When you walk in you get an industrial vibe filled with filled with chatty working professionals, plugging away on laptops while sipping their lattes. The coffee is strong and effective and they always have a single origin bean to choose from. I am always tempted by the scrumptious looking pastries at the from counter. I've given in and gotten a cookie that was chewy and crunchy at the same time, very delicious. I'm pretty sure I've gotten some sort of slice of pie before that was very good. They have an area with half-and-half and sugar. I just wish they had cinnamon I could sprinkle on top that's kind of the only thing missing. They sell bags of beans are pretty pricey, but there's one bulk bag that seems very affordable. They have cute merchandise and free stickers. If you're looking for some sweet sugary coffee, this is probably not the place to go but espresso, cortados, drip coffee, Americanos, lattes with cream, this place will be perfect. The coffee is only ok, the biggest problem is there is no where to sit. All tables are used by computer users. One person at 2-4 seating tables. It's not fun to try and meet a friend for a chat and cup of coffee. The music is loud and not pleasant to listen to on occasion. Lots of better places to relax with a friend and a nice cup of coffee. Farmers Union is hip. BUT, probably one of the least inviting cafes in Eugene. In terms of service, every time I order, regardless of the barista, it feels like I've deeply inconvenienced them just by being there. They're even mean at times, giving you looks. Forget about "thank you", "have a nice day", or even "we'll have that right out!". None of that in this joint. Expect some sadism from those folks. As a side note, the food is so so so overpriced like wow... how did we get to this point, Eugene?? As another side note, (this is an issue of preference) the coffee is ruined by its bitterness. Basically, Farmers Union is way overrated merely for its hipster atmosphere and needs a mega revamp to its quality of service. read more

The coffee is good But the barista and the other girl at the register should work on their demeanor and approach. When taking my order Greta at the register didn't have a friendly approach off the bat. I asked if it was okay that my dog is with me while I waited for my to-go drink and she said that was okay as long as I wasn't dining indoors which worked for me. Immediately as I waited off to the side for my drink the barista, Nova, snapped at me to go outside with my dog and that only service dogs can be inside. Which I totally understand, but theres definitely a way to not be rude about it. As someone who also works in the coffee industry, that was not the welcoming or hospitality to be expected. I would advise the business to have postage that only service animals are allowed inside because there is none at the front doors. read more

Here visiting from NM. I come here to Eugene very often to visit my parents in Coos Bay. I have tried almost every coffee shop in Eugene. I would have to put farmers union on the top of my favorites. I didn't have a good experience at this place. July 7, 2023 around 10am. The atmosphere is nice. We ordered 2 lattes and a sandwich. Sandwich came quickly, my hubby enjoyed it. Lattes took a while. I was watching the counter and saw a cup of latte being placed on the counter without being called. About 3-4 min passed by so I approached the counter and asked if it was a 12 oz latte. A gentleman in glasses who was working the cash register said - "I don't know, I'm not working the bar here". He didn't even look at me when he said that and overall came off very condescending. In the meantime another gentleman standing one foot back to back to him was making another drink. I gently proceeded asking - "who do I ask then?" The cashier proceeded to ignore me. A gentleman who was making another latte was more polite and said - "just give me a sec, I will call it in a bit" He finished that latte which was a second latte from our order and then called it. I thanked him and took the order. Almost 10 minutes has passed between the time my latte was set on the counter and the time my husbands latte was ready. So not only I was spoken to in a condescending way by the cashier also the latte was lukewarm. To culminate the experience the taste of coffee itself was not good to me - way too acidic, unpleasantly bitter, as if it was burned. I hope this is read by the management and is addressed. It would be better for customers if each drink was called immediately after making. There was two of us which means that my husband got a hot drink and I got a lukewarm one. It's inconsistent. What if there was 4 of us? The first drink would have gotten cold by the time the last one would be ready. Also seriously considering addressing the customers who are there to ask something about their order in a kind friendly manner. Considering that this business claims to care about the hard work farmers put into the coffee making process from start to finish, which is wonderful, that care should be all inclusive. Have tried this place a couple times now and the coffee was consistently great. Check out the gorgeous pink roaster right in the store! Their espresso is balanced with a little grassiness that I like. Food is not quite as spectacular but reasonably priced and quick for when you're doing a marathon study day.
