Upon entering we were greeted by Chris. A lovely clerk, but in the end, not very helpful. We told the Chris that 1) we were not familiar with the brands that they carry so we would rely on her knowledge and 2) we are in Iowa less than five months out of the year as we are retired and homestead in Florida. She steered us to the HomeStretch brand for a loveseat. Specifically, I asked her about durability because I have had Lazy Boy furniture in the past and had been very happy with it. She responded by saying that "Lazy Boy isn't what it used to be" but that this Homestretch would be good. Ok so we trusted her. My husband who is 6' and less than 200 lbs is the only person that sits in this chair. Within six months the chair was leaning and the seat part of the cushion was shot. Because we are in Iowa only five months out of the year by the time I returned to Iowa to report this collapse, the "warranty" was out of date by about one month. We were to pay to have someone come out to look at the piece ($50) and then they would evaluate the cost of repair. Chris was able to get the initial $50 fee waived, but the total cost of the repair would be about $350 including a pick up and return delivery to our home. $350 repair job for a piece of furniture a year old. If I wanted crap furniture or virtually zero customer service, I would have gone to some low end big box store. I don't recommend Redekers at all. My husband and I were small business owners for 40 years and never treated customers so poorly. I'm sure Redekers is in the Ankeny area regularly so I believe to waive the pick up and delivery charges for the repair of this furniture would have been the better decision on their part particularly because the furniture is so new. They chose not to work with us and that is poor judgment on their part. I would not go back and purchase another item from them again. Lousy.
