We went on Mother's Day morning. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits and it was really good. My boyfriend got the corn beef hash which was also homemade and very tasty. Our eggs were cooked perfect. The staff was also very attentive and kept coming by to refill our coffees. Only negative was that the floor sounded...sticky? But maybe they just need a fresh wash. great breakfast! read more

Im giving this place a 3 we have been many many times. Food is great. Pricing is great. It's very clean. That being said we went there with a party of 7 I think it was 7 might have been 8 food was good hot priced great it came out fast it was great. Should be a 5 star We got our bill and the server said to me on a table this big we expect a 20% tip. If thats the case they should.write it on the menu and automatically add it. My tip ended up being like 32.00. I am a server so I would have tipped her 50.to 75 for the bill we had. I asked her if that was her doing asking for a 20% tip or if the restaurant made her ask that. She said it was the owner. So I called the owner to ask if this was the case incase it.wasnt and the server was just saying that (to me it sounded tacky). The person who.anwsered the phone was going to have the owner call me back and she never did. Ive severed larger tables and have been stiffed and it sucks but its part of the job. Then the next table will tip 25% so it averages out at the end of the night most nights. To me if I was the owner of a business I would never ask this. Maybe she dosent and the server takes it upon herself to do this. Im not sure I will be back and everyone that ive told this senerio thinks its tacky as well and should not be said. Came in from a long drive and they took good care of us. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Somewhat limited menu but it sticks to the diner classics and pulls them off well, food tasty and hot. Kind of an old school roadside spot, a little sticky but its a diner thats just how its supposed to be. Will be my go to from now on! read more

First time in . In the area checked yelp and this place popped up. Pulled in and it looked closed but had an open sign. Almost left . Saw some seniors come out so we went in . This is unlike any diner I have been to . I felt like I was back in 1982 by the decor And food . Honestly the prices did not match the quality . I ordered the French onion soup based on Sara's review and picture that I glanced at before looking into I also ordered a root beer float . The cup was so small there was not half a can of soda in that cup . Waitress brought a dish and napkin and spoon for it but no straw , smh , my guest had coffee which he said was not great, he ordered fish bites and home made Mac and cheese . He said the Mac and cheese was horrible. Jarred Alfredo sauce with shredded cheese on top. Watery no flavor. He's not picky at all, the float tasted fine but was super small. The onion soup came in a crock pot. It's an app but I had it as an entree as I could find anything else . It tasted fine but was cold . The waitress must have seen my disgust and asked how it was . I had had three spoon fulls. I said good but cold, the croutons inter the cheese were soggy . This was not made fresh. It was all pre assembled and in the fridge for god knows how long . Then microwaved , I heard it . I also heard a microwave while waiting for our order. The prices to not reflect this low quality food , even for a lined this are fresh prepared . The service was as bad as the food . I do not recommend. I will not be back . Check out health score violations . Getting back to Sara , I think she is an employee leaving reviews and pictures. Everyone has different tastes and expectations with food . Maybe Farmington has lower expectations. PS , my guest never got the roll with his dinner which I just read that it should have . I should have been on it when I actually heard her asking the customers if they actually wanted the roll that they payed for . SMH . This is seriously one of the worst places I've eaten at . Ever. The outside looks like a 50's dinner. The inside is redone though. Bigger than it looks on the outside. Went there around lunchtime, on vacation so i slept late, I was expecting a full breakfast menu but at least there was a partial one. I wouldn't have gotten to try the turkey dinner if it went differently. The service was good, but the Turkey Dinner was great all white meat turkey, favorable stuffing, nice gravy and even came with a roll and cranberry sauce. I was worried about how this place would be, but we were hungry and in need of dinner. My fears were realized. The salad was pre-made and not fresh. They apparently store a bunch of salads in the fridge, but maybe too far in the back of the fridge because half of it was frozen. Talk about iceberg lettuce, my wife almost chipped a tooth on a piece of celery. I tried to make a safe call and just get a sausage and cheese omelette. I have never seen a diner serve powdered eggs before. I felt like I was in Army boot camp. My wife's chicken Parm was one breaded chicken stick out of a frozen Tyson bag with a can of Hunts tomato sauce dumped on top. It's a slophouse. The chicken cordon Bleu was awful which in the past was my favorite l ended up throwing it away the potatoes were just awful lumps of uncooked potatoes the roll was stale. My husband and I went there because the parking lot was full and that is usually a good sign. Well...not this time...not for us. We both ordered the baked haddock. Both dishes came at the same time, but my fish was not fresh. Not only did it taste bad, it smelled bad, too. We asked the waitress (who by the way was wonderful, her name is Jennifer G.) to just take it away. She offered another one, but after tasting/smelling that one, I really didn't want to even think about another one! She said she would take that off the bill. But, when she came back, she said the owner said we had to pay full price!! Full price for a small dish of squash and few onion rings??? We paid it, but we will not be going back anytime soon. Came to spend the holidays with my mother in law. She raves about Farmington D so the wife and I wanted to go there for dinner with her. After driving 12 hours from Virginia and checking into our hotel, we all met up hungry and ready to chow. My wife who's from Dixieland tells me all the time, I don't know fried clams until I have whole belly clams and not strips. So..... imagine my entire disappointment when we pull into the parking lot at 4:30pm and they're closed. Not only closed for the day but looks permanently closed and sitting in the parking lot checking Yelp it says they're open until 9pm. Upset doesn't say enough. As mentioned in other reviews, the sign in the door said "we are new and trying to iron out our kinks, please be patient with us." However, if it could have been wrong, it was. If you are looking for food with some semblance of taste, or a waitress who will come to your table, please look elsewhere. I ordered an omelette and biscuits with gravy, my fiancée had the pancakes and a side of bacon and eggs. I am certain that not one dash of seasoning was used, it was so bland I might as well have been eating cardboard. Farmington D, please take this in the best possible way, you need to learn to cook and provide service for your customers. The waitress took our order, delivered the food, and then we saw her again when we were done and waiting for the check. They need to come to the table, and know what to do. Make some sort of training plan for your entire team, and stick to it! I hope you can iron this out, but we will not be returning to your location unless we hear of a drastic change. I will say you are in a great location, but please: Fix the food. Make it taste good Fix the service, train your servers and have them visit the customers at least once during a meal with a smile Fix the atmosphere, it felt like a rundown diner. Our new favorite restaurant. My husband and I have been there a few times now and we both found the service first rate and the food delicious, the Chef makes a Seafood Chowder that is out of this world, not milk or cream based but made from a broth. Very flavorful and packed with seafood, including lobster! Before we moved out this way we had been frequent guests at a restaurant in Skowhegan. Farmington D is head and shoulders above. We had a great breakfast at this diner. Food was good, coffee was great with cream from a local dairy and the staff were very welcoming.

Went here with an infant and they happily accommodated us. The staff were welcoming and genuine people, attentive but not overly so. We got the prime rib quesadilla which was on the specials menu, and it was very good, the meat was chopped evenly and cooked tender, melty cheese and peppers and onions too. The fries here are really good IMO, and different from what you normally find. Large but thin cut potato wedges, crisp on the outside, soft and potato-ey on the inside, All the food we ordered was cooked well, tasted good and was a large amount for what you pay for. I appreciate that the new owner has reopened this restaurant. Farmington can really benefit from some additional restaurants, especially at a mid-price point for families. I love the diner theme idea in theory, but it is a bit lacking here. Other than some plain metal panels being displayed as "art", the walls are pretty bare with not much to look at. The red/yellow color scheme isn't pleasant. I hope they consider updating the interior to a more attractive look: if it's a diner/retro theme, do it well. The menu seems confused and priced too high--comparing many of the exact same dishes with the previous Harvest House menu (whose recipes they use), the prices are actually higher. Is this restaurant going to be a diner or a family restaurant? From the menu, it's hard to tell. Like someone else posted on Google, $2.75 for a cup of coffee is too much. Offering a $8.99 cheeseburger with fries but then charging an extra $0.49 for lettuce and $0.70 for a tomato leaves a bad taste in the mouth (especially when those extras aren't listed on the menu). Most adults want more than a plain cheeseburger and don't appreciate frivolous, unadvertised charges. The pies aren't homemade, but are baked by somewhat local bakeries. Here they could improve by taking pride in their desserts rather than simply microwaving pre-made ones. I'd love to return, but have already been disappointed twice. I wish the Farmington D well and hope they get it together soon so we can feel good about coming back. read more
