Prices are expensive, the food isn't always good. Went one time and I was very disappointed spent over $80 on a horrible meal.

Wow - in reading the other reviews I feel as if I visited in an alternate universe when I dined here. There are not a lot of options for a sit-down meal in Chowchilla. We usually drive out of town before we will opt to eat here. The cleaning fluid smell always kills my appetite and the food is just meh. Service is friendly. read more

My wife and I really enjoy this steakhouse. She is a Fresno State graduate and she and her late mother were accustomed to stopping by here for lunch or dinner. We now live in the Midwest and come this way on business quite frequently, and we stop when possible. We were there on the evening of 07-08. At one point the server came and apologized for the long wait on our food and informed us they would comp us our drinks. My son-in-law ordered the Steak Diane. He got 3 bites of meat and a baked potato that was so cold the butter didn't melt. My daughter ordered her steak medium and received well done. My grandson had an order of French fries that he said tasted reheated or stale. My baked potato was warm, not hot. Our server was the only bright spot to this disaster. We were staying at a nearby hotel but I can assure you it was the first and last time we ate there. read more

After not even being greeted until 10 minutes after we arrived, was given flat soda as our drinks. two waitresses on staff, from conversation overheard after we were initially served, they wanted to flip a coin to see who would HAVE to serve the customers that came in. Ordered food, salad with meal may have been the best part of the meal, outside of the asparagas that was served with the mail meal. Both my wife and I ordered the New York Steak and asked for leaner cuts. Obviously the waitress or the cook does not understand lean cuts of meat. Had more fat and gristle(sp) then actual meat. Wife ordered the mashed potatos and I the baked potato. Both orders had so much cheese on them, you couldnt taste the potato. One good thing that I have to say for our waitress, was the fact that she was brutally honest about some of the food. Asked for ideas and she said NO on the ribs. Too much BBQ sauce, so that was a plus. I would be very cautious of eating here. Of what we ate and could eat was good for the most part, but wouldnt recommend that restaurant too anyone. read more

We stop by Farnesi's on our drive to S. California whenever we get the chance. It's clean and friendly. The food is real and served hot. They are very kind doing things like splitting a milk shake for our kids and adding in more ice cream to make sure both kids have enough or bring out large styrofoam cups of ice tea take on the road. The steaks taste like real meat and are always served hot as are the mashed potatoes and veggies. Nothing tastes pre-cooked and then reheated. It's a great bargain if you have time to sit down and enjoy your meal. read more

Apparently it's a $2 up charge to get fruit instead of vegetables for my kid. The fruit isn't even fresh, it's from a can!! So she is getting fries instead of the vegetables that she won't eat. Walked in at about 9:00 for dinner. Waitress was behind the counter getting drinks for a table. I asked when they close. She says you have plenty of time we are open until 10:00. She says to sit wherever you would like. She serves the drinks to the table next to me, goes into the back and I decide what I would like to order. The problem is she never comes back. There is some yelling in the back room, no one out front. I hear some banging and clanging. More yelling. Something is either dropped or thrown. Some more load conversations. 25 minutes go by. She still never came back. I had to get up to leave and headed to Carl's Jr. Don't know what the rest of the patrons did. Crazy. read more

Terrible service! We waited over 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Then another 40 minutes for the food to arrive! To make it worse, several people who arrived after us were served before us. The waitress was very unfriendly. Don't eat here!! read more

We gave this place another shot. After receiving a prompt response and a sincere apology to our previous experience, and they did a good job. It was just my husband and I just Incase there was some tension if the previous server was there. But she wasn't there this time and our server was very sweet, my husband had to ask for a refill on his soda though, it was not just given or asked if he would like one. The food tasted good and my husband ordered a salad to go for work tomorrow, unfortunately when we got home to put it in a different container he seen it was the completely wrong salad. So I went back and they apologized sincerely and corrected the issue. Thank you for the sincerity, that goes along way with me. We stopped in to Farnesi's after visiting the fossil museum in Chowchilla. Wow, what a gem! The food was excellent and the service good. I had biscuits and gravy that were some of the best ever. Very tender biscuit and the gravy has great flavor and consistency. My wife had the chicken teriyaki which was also good. The decor is very much a throwback to 1975 but the restaurant is clean and inviting. We would definitely return. read more

Food is great but SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. I have been there twice in the last few months and every experience has been terrible! Waitresses have been incredibly rude, neglectful and we felt that they were racist. The last time our waitress took 20 minutes to take our order, not even getting our drinks. After bringing our food, she never came back for refills, ask how our food was, ask if we needed boxes or drop off our tab. In the one hour we were there, 3 other groups of Caucasian clients came in and they got their menus before sitting, and she took their order within 2 or 3 minutes each, one even asking for her to come beck because they were not ready. She did whatever it took to avoid check in in on our table and pretended not to hear our remarks about her service. After we complained about her, she was forced to give us our checks at the register but did not process our payments, she took off to the other tables. We had to wait 5 more minutes until someone else was forced to process our payment. The rest of the Caucasian staff has been equally rude and disrespectful. My coworkers have had this experience twice before this on their own. We will not be returning and we will discourage other professionals in the area from ever going there. read more

I had a business trip in Chowchilla and my company made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel gave me a coupon for $5 off coupon on any entree of my choice. After we finished our dinner the waitreess said that the coupon was for $5 off PER table. We said ok but another table that was also a part of out business trip said that they had the same problem and they complained to the manager they got the $5 off per entree. I was not happy with that and I can't believe I spent @20 and I got canned green beens !!!! read more
