A nice mixed crowd we enjoyed it so much we had dessert even though we were a little full already. Fresh mango sorbet and crème brûlée. Try it out and definitely try the local fish!

The interior…read morereflects a contemporary, crisp white tablecloth seafood motif, with beautiful modern chandeliers and table settings (I loved the knives that stand on their blades). Hugo D and I were so taken by the delicious fish dishes we came back for a second dinner. Our first dinner started with a half Seafood Salad and amazing, fresh Grilled Razor Clams. The clams were so tasty and tender we ordered them at dinner #2. Our huge salt-baked fish for two came out with a flourish. The server expertly removed the salt crust and boned it for us. I did not have one bone on my plate! It was the best, freshest fish I've had in a long time. No bones to pick with this dish! Our second dinner was Grilled Turbot. This was a larger, less delicate white fish than our other dinner but was still good. It did not come boned as the fish slices were filet cut through the spine. We tried various glasses of wine, and by our second dinner just got a bottle of our favorite there, Lagar Ð Cevera Albariño 2022. Delicious with seafood! Service was excellent, formal but friendly, and the staff are definitely well-trained. The only downside to the ambiance the first night was a table of 12 with half being young children. A few were really unruly and annoyed many of the tables around us (some couples on dates, others with well-behaved kids). It didn't stop us from coming back because the food was so amazing.

I was a little intimidated by the menu but quality goes a long way - I tried the tripe starter and the octopus for my main and both were delicious. The true star, however, was the Lemon foam dessert - so light and flavorful and it looked just like a lemon! The service is great as is the ambiance. One of the more expensive restaurants we visited but still relatively cheap when compared to dining prices in the USA.

Yelp Review #800! To celebrate, I'm posting a 5-star review of LoLa Casual Fine Dining, hands down…read morethe best restaurant we dined in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. It's popular so reservations are a must. The restaurant is intimate and has a beautiful, open and well designed dining room. Even so, Hugo D and I chose to sit on the outdoor patio under clear evening skies. Guests tend to dress a bit better at this restaurant, so don't really run in here in a-shirts/tank tops and flip flops. Service is 5-star amazing. I could not believe how one waiter, sometimes two, were able to efficiently cover all the tables, taking orders, pouring wine, bussing, and still have time to be professional, friendly and cordial. They know their stuff. The owner is also super friendly! LoLa is a foodie's delight. Every dish came out like a work of art. Tastebuds exploded with both familiar and unique flavors. We were so impressed that we returned on our last night at the same table (and I had the same entree)! We were both amazed by our Octopus Carpaccio. Sliced so delicately yet powerfully tasty! The Beetroot came in a beautiful fuchsia swirl. The Salmon Sashimi was probably the most gorgeously plated dish of all, with 3-D microgreens and edible flowers. So delicious! Hugo loved his Iberia Pork Filet main dish (and his Octopus Teriyaki the second visit). I thought nothing beat the Lamb Shoulder which I had both nights. The lamb was perfection. Whatever you like for dessert, make sure Lemon is one of them. A smashing success, and a perfect ending to a smashingly successful dinner (twice)! The wine list is not extensive, but it does have something for everyone. We were able to taste-test prior to the full glass pours. My favorite was a full-bodied Rioja, Marqués de Victoria Crianza 2021. We were grateful to the owner who gave us an extra pour to keep us around! By the time you read this, the menu probably will have seasonally changed. But I'm sure the creative inventiveness and taste remains. LoLa is definitely worth an evening out!
