I grew up in Middleville in the 80s and 90s this is by far the best hometown Italian restaurant there is around the area.

Pizza has great sauce and is the best around. The wet burritos are also better than anyone else offers in town.

The food is good, the dining room service is a bit slow and the location just seems a bit janky and under-maintained...

We were seated very promptly since we had a reservation. The outside of restaurant is beautiful and has a huge parking lot. The area where we were seated was really nice with windows all along the wall. And our appetizers- the dressed eggs and lobster ravioli were amazing!! One of the biggest issues was the number of gnats flying around our table throughout the meal. We constantly had to swat them away from our wine glasses, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the evening. I understand the occasional gnat. But this was kind of ridiculous. The service was also disappointing. Our server mentioned that he had worked at the restaurant for quite some time, but he didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu and wasn't able to answer questions confidently. He was also not very attentive, and we often had to wait longer than expected for check-ins. Our food came out quickly but the wine always took quite a while to come to the table. The food itself was good, but when you're paying fine-dining prices, you expect the entire experience--including the atmosphere and service--to match. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues because it has the potential to provide a much better dining experience. Also, I would skip the sea bass entree. I was not really impressed with it and wished that I had ordered a pasta dish. However the server helped me decide and chose the sea bass. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the decor. I loved the wine and appetizers. But everything else just did not impress me. Not for the amount of money we dropped on this meal. I doubt I will return.

First impression was a nice, inviting ambiance. We arrived a little early for dinner and only a couple,le of tables were taken. When we left, the place was packed. A good sign I hoped. Our server brought our drinks and when my wife ordered lasagna, she replied it was her favorite. We heard that statement at least four more times with totally different orders from nearby tables. Hmm. I ordered a meatball/sausage sub. It looked pretty good but had very little sauce. In fact, what sauce was there had pretty much been absorbed by the bread. Our server quickly brought some sauce to complete the sub. Sausage and meatballs were pretty good but felt the sauce was a bit too sweet. Maybe a personal taste thing. Still glad to have the sauce because otherwise the sub would simply have been meatballs, sausage and melted cheese on bread. My wife's lasagne had a few issues. First, the noodles were hard and difficult to cut indicating possible undercooking. Instead of layering, the ground beef and ricotta was pretty much a mixture creating a far different appearance and taste than she was accustomed to. Despite everything being our server's "favorite", she was hustling and did an excellent job taking care of us and the rest of her customers. My theory, better to have tried than have not and wondered.

Got there 30 minutes after opening and there was a 45 minute wait. So today we were in the area and thought we would try again. To our disbelief we were sat at a table immediatly. Lucky us, I thought. We first ordered beverages. When the waitress returned, we ordered an appetiser of Arancini to start off and also our main dinners which included soup or salad. We both love arancini and haven't had any since we moved from Florida last October. I will admit we are used to having Sicilian style which usually is filled with rice, saffron, meat and vegetables, like peas. To our surprise the salads came out first. We both ordered a ceaser salad which was over whelmed with parmesan cheese and very little lettuce. The Arancini arrived and there was five perfectly round what tasted like cheese balls. Some white rice with lots of cheese filling laying in a bowl of marinara sauce. We each had one ball. My entree of chicken Marsala arrived with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo. Basically it tasted like chicken with mushroom gravy. Very unappealing. The Alfredo sauce was flat, no flavor. My wife's Penne with Pesto lacked pesto. Tasted good but could of used more Pesto. I just have to say that this was the most lackluster Italian dinner I honestly have ever had. I really just don't understand the high reviews. I guess it wasn't our lucky day.
