This was the worst experience. I had bought a Groupon and didn't realize it was over an hour away. The equipment kept failing, I was there over 5 hours! This photo popped up in my feed the other day so I figured I would review it on here. I went to Fashion Shots when I was almost 7 months pregnant to get a maternity shoot done. I bought a Groupon voucher. They did an amazing job on my hair and makeup and the girls fixing me up were very sweet. The owner whom is the photographer has her daughter help her out there. It's really nice that it's a family owned business. The shoot itself was great. I was very self conscious at this point of my pregnancy and had confidence issues. The photographer and other employees were so nice to me I felt truly beautiful and at ease during my shoot. After the shoot I got to look through my photos and see the prices. I chose 2 photos to go with and had them photoshopped. She did an amazing job keeping it realistic with a light blur on my skin and added nice lighting. The hubs loves this photo and so did everyone else. It definitely was worth the price paid because of the professional makeup, hair styling and choice of wardrobe. read more

Unprofessional atmosphere.Staff runs around like a chicken without a head. When I went for my photo shoot, previous client was arguing with her staff because her photos were lost. I should have left. I purchased a Groupon with professional hair and make up. As sweet as her daughter is she's not professional with hair and make up. Their outlook is you could be retouched. Yes I got there 30 minutes late to my appointment and I did call and let them now because I live over an hour away. I sat and waited while they took care of all the other problems for over an hour. Simone makes you feel comfortable in the photo sessions that is the only positive compliments I will give. My Groupon turned into a $700 package. In my contract and telling her face to face I wanted very very little retouch only under my eyes to cover my dark circles. I wanted the rest of me left alone as I work out and I did not want to look soft. I was told when my pictures we're done I would get a call. At four weeks I called to see how my pictures were coming along and the girl sounded surprised. I waited almost another week to hear I can come get them. I traveled over an hour to pick up my pictures and when I saw them they were not what I signed the contract for and not what I told Simone I wanted. She chose what she liked instead of what I insisted on. That right there is unprofessional. Trying to clear up the problem takes Simone a week to get back after leaving a voicemail five times and stating I will give negative reviews if I don't hear call back. Well I got a call back and she's willing to retouch under my eyes like I had originally wanted and leave everything else untouched. Well if she listen to be the first time we wouldn't have this problem. I am not willing to drive over an hour to pick up another set of pictures she can mail them to me and she doesn't want to pay for the Fed ex apparently I have to. For all the hell and unprofessionalism and mistakes she makes she wants me to pay. Absolutely not. This place is the worst photography studio ever. Her staff is the most unprofessional staff ever. I have prior to this done another photo shoot which by far stands out in New York City. I would never recommend Simone at fashion shots. You will spend far too much of your money for a product that doesn't even look like you and you'll have to endure the bullshit that they feed everybody. Stay away, look into other photography studios. Simone wanted me to take down my review. An employee called me on the sly. Simone retouches each picture, not another company as she claims. I was told though I told her how I wanted the pictures retouched, Simone decided for me. Simone is a fraud and changed her company's name. The worst experience ever!!!! Overpriced for pictures that were never ready!!! We paid almost $700 dollars for 17poses the package was almost 1,000 and we drove 2hrs to pick up photos that were not even ready. Simone is unprofessional liar, she tells me one thing and then refers to her stupid contract ...She told me they day of final payment they will be printed and ready for me to pick ul! Guess what they are not here! Beware sign no contract with this person! Her pictures are not that professional if she has to send to a different lab to get "edited" she really messed up my thank you cards going out ruined my first maternity shoot ever experience! DO NOT GO HERE! They are horrible with customer service. I went the first time and got my pictures done and then was forced to come back a second time to choose my pictures. THEN I had to come back again to pick them up. When I picked up my pictures they were missing one. They had put the order through incorrectly. I expected them to mail me my picture due to it being their error and not mine. I am being told that that CAN NOT BE DONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. That's a load of crap. This is actually my second terrible review for this company. I was charged a preliminary amount of $20 before my appointment. My appointment was cancelled less than 24 hours before I was scheduled to arrive; which I can understand things happen and need to be moved around but after the terrible customer service that I had endured, I simply requested a refund. This was on February 10th. I was told 3-5 days to process the refund, long story short it never came and I have been unable to get in contact with them ever since. I have called now FOUR times, leaving voicemails each time, at first polite, and then finally today, threatening to dispute the charge. They have left me with no choice. Please do not trust this company, they are extremely unreliable and are scam artists - just read almost every other review on here - cannot be trusted. read more

Had boudoir type photos done as a Valentines gift for my Husband years ago, I literally just showed up they did my hair and make up GREAT, I felt very comfortable during the entire shoot with the 2 females the photographer and assistant/hair and make up girl. There were tons of excellent photos to choose from, they helped me select ones for the project photo book I was putting together for my Husband's gift which he absolutely LOVED and all my girlfriends that saw the pictures were really impressed as well. The airbrushing technique used to get rid of one of my tattoos another photographer told me after looking at the pictures was more of a blurring tool not airbrushing that's only reason I didn't give 5 stars because a tiny area does in fact looked more so blurred than clean up and airbrushed. They are not nice at all. The photographer with the accent is a great employee and very kind, but for the prices, you would expect AMAZING photos every shot. I could have taken the same shots myself if I had a nicer camera because they were basic poses. Then the main girl that manages the prices was absolutely rude. I just wanted to know if I would get a CD of ALL of the pictures being that it costs absolutely nothing to do and it's super easy and the pictures were already taken. She jumped around my question every way possible and was EXTREMELY rude about it. The answer was no. You get one picture and you don't get to keep any of the others. You pay $700 for absolute BS! Do not go here. Bought a Groupon. The session was nice, BUT they pretty much pressure you to buy a overly priced photo package to make up the money they lost on the groupon. They don't tell you there are NO refunds for the print. If you change your mind or don't like the prints they will not refund your money and they combine the groupon you bought and prints telling you they put the time in and thus we can do nothing. ZERO stars!!! The first appointment for boudoir shots I made was "forgotten" by the staff. Made a 2nd appointment and made the very long drive a second time. I found this place through Groupon and was very excited. The experience was ok. Hair & makeup was good, but not great. It seems that everyone who sits in the hair/makeup chair ends up with the same hairstyle. Also, there was an extra up charge of $20 for lashes & another extra $20 for any jewelry/wardrobe use. The actual photo shoot was good. Simone, the owner & photographer was enjoyable to work with and made me feel comfortable. Viewing the "proofs" was very rushed, although the proofs themselves were well done. I had asked several times about prices during my shoot and on the phone when I first made the appointment, since no pricing is available anywhere online. I went into this shoot expecting to pay between $50-$150 max, but they don't give you any numbers until after you have selected your favorite pictures at the viewing. Prices are ridiculous! $200 for editing, with packages that are outrageously expensive ($200 PER PHOTO). I have done shoots before and have never seen such expensive package prices that didn't include all the proofs, the images edited and on disk as well. I overpaid in full for the photos I chose and was promised the prints in 2-4 weeks. When I called 4 weeks later, I was told that they were not happy with the retouching and my prints were sent back. Now I was told I would have my boudoir prints before Christmas. The day before Christmas I called again & was told I can (make the hour long drive) and pick the prints up. Upon arrival I was asked to sign a slip on a clipboard, no explanation was given. I was handed an envelope with my prints that I began to go through. The retouching was HORRIBLE! My face does not look like mine, my breasts are HUGE and uneven, I look like a deformed cartoon character! While I am no super model, I am 5'4" and 120 lbs. all of the retouching/photoshopping was unnecessary, especially since the proofs were actually well done. When I asked why the prints looked this way, breast size, washed out facial features, etc. the woman who helped me played "dumb" as if she couldn't see what I was talking about. I have called repeatedly, as I would like the original pictures that were taken, unretouched. My calls are not taken or returned. I would not recommend Fashion Shots to my worst ememy and am contemplating taking Simone & Fashion Shots to court. read more

I had an appointment...that morning they called and cancelled on me saying 2 hours that THEY scheduled me for wasn't enough. (Annoying because I had scheduled to leave work early and move things around). So she made it for the following week. I wish I had read these reviews before using the Groupon. The make up girl was only 20 and this was her second job ever. She was awful and unsanitary. They told us the photographer was in her office and would be out in a minute. After being strung along for awhile they told us she wasn't actually there yet. She arrived almost 2 hours late, when we were getting ready to leave. Everyone here is correct about them lying about the packages. When I called Simone and ASKED for clarification, she actually started yelling at me. I caught her in a lie and told her I would be happy to drive there and show her proof, she reversed her story but started yelling about how I only heard what I wanted to. Needless to say, in spite of an $800 bill, she refused to make it right. Many of the photos are photoshopped to the point that the skin looks unnatural so we lost out there too. The real irony? After the shoot and before she ripped us off, she was pushing us very hard to go on Yelp and give a good review to balance a couple bad ones. LOL. Now I see why. This is where I had my mind blown. $200 for editing, with packages that are outrageously expensive ($200 PER PHOTO). I have done shoots all over the US, including NYC and LA, and never have I seen such expensive package prices that didn't include all the images edited and on disk. By the time I saw the numbers I was already heart set on getting at least 2-4 pictures and it made me sick to my stomach that I had driven there twice already and spent all that time at both the shoot and the viewing. It wasn't in my budget to get all the photos I wanted but after practically begging for some sort of better deal, I was offered 3 photos for the price of 1 if I got the editing. Since I don't walk around with $500, I also had to pay an additional $25 to do a payment plan, and then was told it was 2-4weeks AFTER balance was paid in full that I would get the pictures! I've done shoots for less than $200 that included 300-500 hi resolution images fully edited and on disc (for unlimited reprints) and here I was paying near $500 for only 3 PRINTS with editing (no disc). And this didn't include the groupon amount of $35 that I had already paid. It just felt like I got scammed and tricked into the whole thing. I feel bad for anyone who goes into this experience unaware of how much it is gonna actually cost them, hence why I felt compelled to write a review. Lastly, I did end up paying the full balance due and made the long drive a third time to pick up my photos within 2 weeks. HOWEVER I was also disappointed that they left their watermark logo on the pricey prints (normally photographers watermark photos UNLESS you purchase the high res versions). The editing was just "ok" and there were a few spots on one of the pictures that would not come off and literally ruins the entire picture. Just an overall disappointment and felt like I threw all that money, time, and gas down the drain. read more

If I could give no stars I would!! DO not go here AND IF YOU DO MAKE THIS TERRIBLE MISTAKE DON'T BOOK BEFORE 12PM !! I had a 10am appt. I had my makeup up done by 11am. I had to wait until 1230 for the photographer aka the owner to show up and take my pictures. I had to be somewhere by 115 so after it was all done I had to leave and come back later to view my pictures. Okay not terrible. I go back at 230 wait yet another half hour only to hear pictures will be $699 +. I ordered my ONE picture AND went about my life.. A month later still no call it's finished. So I call. It is complete. I go pick it up. Leave in a rush bc I left my daughter at gymnastics go home it's the wrong picture. I call the next day she will do nothing about it. Furious isn't even the word. So unprofessional !! I'm more heart broken bc it was a maternty shot for my future husband and I hate the way I look in the picture. Such a waste of money. Go to target. Horrible experience! We were totally misled about what our absurdly over priced fee would get us . The story kept changing n the owner never gave us a courtesy call to try n rectify the situation. The over priced touch up fee is ridiculous and terribly done .. Natural lines n signature moles were erased to the point that we did not look like us. The quality of pictures is great, 100 pictures to choose from was more than enough-I found about 40 I would want to purchase. BUT the prices are out of this world! First of all, they do not discuss pricing until after you pick out all the pics you think you want to buy, and then they land this price tag of thousands of dollars on you! I bought the groupon for $40, and in the end was forced to spend close to $400 for 3, yes I said 3, additional photos. I felt it was a scam once they got you in there and showed you all the pictures. The prices are outrageous, and I was willing to spend up to $500, if I could walk away with an album of 10-20 pictures. But 10 pictures was going to cost over $1000 with taxes etc. Also, everything is extra-if they put eyelashes on you, if you ask for any photo touching-at first it is "oh sure, we can remove that one spot" then after it's "well, photo touching is $20 per picture!" I can't justify a $1000 present with only pics of myself, I'd rather go away for a long weekend! read more

Mixed feeling about Fashion Shots. Simone the photographer makes you feel very comfortable and does do wonderful work BUT the customer service sucks here. A boudoir shoot is an all day thing. Wish they explained that when making the apt. I arrived for 10am, when they are supposed to open, then the girl didn't show up until 10:15am. Should have been my first red flag. Was there until 3pm when I told them I had to leave! The groupon only covers the first 100 photos taken. After 100 she charges $25. She wants lashes on you which also is an upgrade $. The albums start at $800 that's without any cd or copy rights to your own images. When I visited the shop to pick up my album, I sat in the parking lot for over an hr & a half because once again no one showed up on time. Very poor customer service skills. The owner makes excuses. It's a shame because their business could really do well with some proper management. Unfortunately will not be using them again. read more

I bought the Groupon & I just went this weekend. I got my Hair/Makeup done by Emily she was very sweet and good and what she does. Candace was my photographer and she helped me figure out my outfits and pose so that I would like nice with what i wanted and to try and hide all my problem areas. Over all it was a Awesome Fun Experience and Worth the Groupon. I did not need to to come back I got to view my pics right away. Out of 106 i had it down to 15 photos I really liked. Then I was given the prices and my first instinct was like WOW. But after all that how could you just choose one. this was a once in a lifetime thing and i do not plan on doing it again so I narrowed it down picked my top 10 photos and Candace was nice enough to offer a flex play plan so its all paid off before I need them for my gift to my BF. This would be a 0 rating if it was allowed -- I purchased a Groupon for hair/make-up, photoshoot and 5"x7" photo. I arrived at the studio and had hair/make-up and photos hoot - all included in the Groupon I purchased. After the photo shoot, I was pressured into purchasing a photo package because both the owner and the makeup artist said that people who purchase Groupons don't understand that they have to make a living and the way they do that is for us to purchase packages. I purchased a package for $1136.32, this included a package of 21 photos and a photo book, long with additional charges of lashes and earring rental that they talked me into. I changed my mind about the purchase soon afterward and returned to the business. The parking lot was empty. I called them the next morning to cancel and was told there are no refunds or cancellations. I sent a certified letter requesting a refund. With that letter, I included a check for the lashes and the earring rental as I had already provided payment for other services through my Groupon purchase. I have yet to hear from the business. They have not yet refunded my credit card for the purchase, and I have never received a call back. I have also never received the 5"x7" photo I purchased through my Groupon and/the package I was charged for. I wish I had read the BBB reviews online; however, I didn't think about it - nor did I think that Groupon would offer a company that had an "F" rating with the BBB. CHECK out the BBB site - I am not the only one with this issue -- I have filed a complaint with the FTC and the BBB. read more
