As a cat owner it's not uncommon to get wholes in clothes but 2 of my favorite shirts got multiple holes in them & a few places said it couldn't be fixed, almost ended up throwing the shirts out until I decided to give one more try & I was pleasantly surprised by the cost and quality of the repair. And we come in and she hasn't even started it saying that she thought we were picking it up on Friday. So we waited an hour for her to fix it. I went in to have my bridesmaid dress altered, and while it was eventually fixed, the overall experience was very frustrating. At first, the lady was kind and welcoming. However, it took her almost two weeks to complete the alterations, and she waited until the day before I needed the dress to actually finish it. When I went to pick it up, she told me it didn't fit because I had "gained weight," even though it had already been altered. Because of her repeated mistakes, she kept trying to charge me more each time. I originally expected to pay $140, but at the end she tried to charge me $200--almost double the price of the dress itself, which was only $100. When I explained that $200 was too much, she became rude and belittled me, finally saying she would "do $180" since I couldn't pay $200. read more

I was very nervous since the fabric is not very forgiving, but Saeeda did an amazing job and let me pay when I picked it up. DESTROYED a $400 goretex jacket. Asked to have a 1.5" tear sewn up. Returned to a 7" black faux leather patch on a yellow jacket. After I specifically said DO NOT add a patch. If it can be done just leave it. I was assured she would only sew matching thread and keep the integrity of the jacket. Turned a waterproof jacket into a leaking sieve. She refused to agree that 100 stitching holes would make it leak. If she couldn't do it I would accept that. To do EXACTLY what I said not to do is sheer ignorance. I know sewing on karate patches is not the most exciting thing for a tailor to be doing but the tailor offers a service that she just fails to deliver in a timely manner. 2 out of 3 times I've been here, the tailor has forgotten the order completely despite agreeing to the time (she wrote it down on the ticket herself!) So I just had to wait there for her to do the job, which takes all of 10 minutes, but apparently she could not find the time to do that in the few days it was left with her. I am Maid or Honor in a wedding in 2 days and I have no dress! Two weeks ago, I bought in a dress to be hemmed. I was told to return Thursday at 4pm to pick it up. She stressed that I had to come on Thursday because she was going on vacation. When I arrived at 4 on Thursday I was told the dress was not done (not even close) and was told I would be called later in the evening when it was finished and could be picked up. I inquired what time they closed and was just told she was going to finish that night. Around 730 pm, my husband was nearby and went to inquire about the dress. She gave him a dress similar to mine but luckily my husband realized that it was not the correct dress. She then told him my dress was not ready but that she would finish it and I could pick it up the next day. When he asked about her location she assured him that she had hired someone to open the shop for pickups only and that I could come by at 1015 Friday. He emphasized that we had to have the dress by Saturday for a wedding. I arrived at 10 am to a closed store. It is now 1030 and no one is here. AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!!! My daughter dropped off her senior prom dress a week ago to have the waist brought in. When she dropped off the dress, they had her put it on first so she could tell them what she wanted fixed and they told her they could do it and it would cost $90 and pick up would be today 5/30. She went and picked up her dress today, went home to try it on and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was done to the dress! It fit loosely around the waist just as it did when she dropped it off. My daughter went back to the shop and asked why the dress hadn't been taken it as she requested and they told her that they couldn't do it and that they weren't refunding her money because they took in the hem on the dress, even though you can CLEARLY see they didn't do anything! Why did you tell my daughter you could bring in the waist and then a week later tell her you couldn't do it but you did something else that she didn't even ask for? My daughter came home in tears! Not only has she been ripped off $90, but her prom dress sat in a shop for a week untouched and it's now too late to take it anywhere else because her senior prom is tomorrow! I have been using this tailor now for 2 years and the quality of work is better than any other tailor in the area. I trust the owner to do complex alterations on clothing I plan to keep for many years. She has never failed to do excellent work. Because it is pretty much a one person shop with so many return customers, there have been a couple of occasions when the owner got behind and my items were not ready. However, I know now to bring things in at least a week before I need them, and if I have something that needs to be finished earlier, I confirm with the owner that it is possible. I left four items with very minor minor repairs needed and was told they needed nearly a week to fix. Really? Ok. I actually came back, four days AFTER the items were promised as my dad was in the hospital, and they were all sitting in a heap of a messy pile mixed with other customers clothing. They were completely blown off and unattended to. While looking for my items in the rack, she assured me they were done-she remembered working on them. No courtesy of a call or advanced warning. After looking at their prices I decided to not get the dresses done with them and they immediately they got angry and started telling me stuff. I did not realize that they charged $80 per dress to get it hemmed (cost more to get it hemmed than the actual dress) so I decided not to get it done but their responses were very uncalled for and that I did not appreciate. I dropped off a peacoat last week to get the sleeves shortened, because they were way too long. I paid $30, was told to come back in a week. I picked up the coat today, and literally nothing had been done. The sleeves are the exact same length as when I dropped it off. I am a difficult customer for tailors. I have very specific needs and am very picky about how I like my clothes to fit. As a result, I have had a tough time finding a positive experience. Well today, it seems my luck has changed. Not only did I receive my jacket exactly as I had hoped it would be returned (perfectly tailored), the service was friendly and heartfelt. I think I'm going to cry. I dropped off a dress here yesterday and asked him to take the length shorter and the dress in a bit, but I needed it done within a day because my engagement photos were the next day. When he told me he could do it, I was so happy to have found them - should have known it was too good to be true. I put on the dress, and he measured me and pinned it to where I wanted it - but I realized it was too short - so he moved the pin down more.. After he lowered it, It was the perfect length - about 2 inches above the knee.. And took the dress in a bit .. He said it would be done at 4:00 the next day.. Well, I came today at 4:30 and he said he needed another hour, and to come back at 5:30.. Sure, that's fine. So I came back at 5:35.. He's gone, and the only person there is an elderly lady who doesn't speak English. Ok, it looked pretty short and the dress looked like it was half the size that I originally brought in, but, I paid the lady and picked up my dress.. Went home and figured it can't be that bad... Tried on my dress, and it literally looks like a hooker dress - it's about two full hands above my knee!!!! WHAT THE F*CK?! What was the point of even measuring me when it clearly didn't mean anything! This is at least 8 inches shorter than it should be!!! It literally feels like he went cutting happy! ...or he f'd up and tried to cover it by going shorter ..and shorter ...and shorter So, after spending $ on the dress + a ridiculous $60 for alterations, I ended up spending so much money AND now, I have no dress for my engagement photos. I'm very new to the area and can not travel much. So based on the reviews I came here with my old wedding gown. I wanted it more form fitted and less poofy for a ball I'm attending next month. The shop is small but neat. And it was never busy when I was there. They put me in it, I explained what I wanted and he went right to pinning it. He gave me his opinion (but wasn't pushy about it). It was done within a week (I gave them plenty of time to do it). I went in and something didn't fit right and his wife went right in to fix it. And they didn't charge me extra for the size mistake. I went in to have the clothing hanger ribbons that are put on strapless dresses and such resewed on as I had cut them off. It's delicate fabric so I didn't trust myself to do it. I needed to return it and it was expensive so I wanted to make sure everything was intact. I go in and ask if he does that sort of thing, he tells me he can begin on it right then. He then comes back out 20 minutes later with it all fixed beautifully. I pull out my wallet to pay him, and he tells me he won't charge me for it! Couldn't believe the generosity. Really great! I've taken two ball gowns into this Tailor shop and both have needed significant alterations. The first was purchased online from China and was a full size too small. Everyone knows that letting a dress out (making it bigger) is difficult if not impossible, but he did it! He even corrected the hundreds of beads that lined the sides of the dress. The second gown was too large and too long. In less than a week (come on people, take it in with time to spare, last minute alterations are NEVER a good idea), he altered the fit and the length. The second gown also had significant beading and it perfectly was done. I'm getting ready to bring my third gown back to this shop because of the great service and great work they've done for me, this one only needs to be made shorter and there isn't any bead work. Had 2 Maxi skirts I needed hemmed asap for a trip I was leaving on the following evening. The owner was so nice and assured me the skirts would both be ready the following morning by 10am. He had me put the skirts on to mark the length and I was out of there. Although it was the same skirt in 2 different patterns he insisted on measuring both - thankfully I listened because one sat slightly different on me and required an inch less to be removed. I swung by the next morning and my items were ready to go (with a nice pressing complete!). I ran home, shoved them in my suitcase and was off to start my vacation! As long as I am living here I will continue to be a customer. Only thing to note - they accept cash only! But the owner was great on ensuring I was aware of this when I dropped off the items. I took my pants, shorts, and four pairs of socks to FTS and three days later he had them done at a fair price, too. The socks were all hemmed from tube socks to ankle socks and they look great! The shorts and pants had snap fasteners added to the pockets and they're also well done! If you're in a hurry I suggest coming here, he does a great job in a very short amount of time. Prices for the snaps were 10 bucks per pair and each sock was 5 bucks, 10 per pair. 60 total. On top of the main stuff, he is a very polite, courteous guy, very friendly and professional. The only thing I would have to say is that he could be a *tad* more punctual on his opening times. I showed up at 10 am and he wasn't there until 10:15. So keep that in mind if you're on a tight hourly schedule--come later. All in all, great experience. 4.5/5. read more
