Ron arrived today because my dryer was not getting hot. The moment he arrived, he was rushed like he had to be elsewhere. He pulled my dryer out & said that it was clogged. He unscrewed the bolts to the dryer hose, blew it out, made a huge and my husband had to insist he clean it up & he vacuumed up the mess he made. He was going to leave it as it was. He turned on our dryer & it was barely warm & said it was fixed & left. 10 minutes & he charged us $120 and my dryer is still not fixed!!! I ran it for over 1 hour after he left, & it barely got warm, never hot. Never, ever call this business. Now, I have to spend another diagnostic fee & find another technician to fix my dryer that Ron did not fixed but charged me $120 for 10 minutes of his time. Unbelievable!!! read more

After a very productive conversation with Ray himself, I think it only fair that I revise my review. It wasn't Ray who made the repair call, it was one of his technicians. Ray courteously and patiently explained that the technician had suggested that I power the frig down, wait a couple of days then restart it. I had missed this in translation. Called Ray because my dryer intermittently wouldn't stay on unless I continuously pushed in the start button. I gave him my dryer's model number and described the problem (my previous repair person could usually diagnose and give me an estimate over the phone based on the problem and model. Unfortunately, he is in San Francisco area.) I got an appointment for Ray to come to my house. He arrived, didn't look at my dryer, just asked what was the problem. When I again told him the issue, he slapped the top of my dryer and said " It's the control panel, $350 to replace, but they don't make the parts anymore". He couldn't have told me that over the phone?? He then said that sometimes he can get a part on Ebay. I asked if the problem be anything else, he said maybe a relay and that would be $250, he'd get back to me if he was able to get the parts. I still had to pay the $70 call charge for nothing. So I went online and found several videos saying it's an easy fix with a $10 relay replacement. I figured $10 was worth a try so I ordered it and had my handyman replace it---and my dryer worked fine! Ray called later to say there were no replacement parts on Ebay so I told him I had already gotten it repaired with a new relay. He said, yes the relay can be the problem. No apology, nothing. I was referred to them by a plumber who told me my dishwasher issue was an appliance issue, it was not but the gentleman who came out to help could see how disappointed I was that I was referred to them after explaining in detail the drain issue and he took the time to attempt to fix it anyways. Definitely not something he had to do but he did and low n behold he fixed it!!! They were responsive and on time within the window given, if tell them you find them online you get $20 off your visit. We called this 4th of July weekend and Tin answered the phone. We told him our LG stopped being cold in both the freezer and the fridge. He asked what year our fridge was. Our Bosch refrigerator was not cooling. I called LOW RATE REPAIR (all caps so you do not miss the name) AKA LR appliance repair. The tech from LR came out did not even remove a tool. He put a thermometer in it & said the entire defrost panel needed to be replaced. Service charge was $120 but the internet said $30 off. He begrudgingly charged $90. then quoted me $1600 to fix and the part would be 3-6 weeks coming in. I was not happy, Stumbled upon RAY's. Ron from Ray's came out immediately, tore my whole refrigerator apart, replaced the motor in the panel (which he had on truck) & we were good to go all for the grand total of $130!!!!!!! read more

Super cool guy (Ron), very honey about what I should and shouldn't replace. Said he could fix my ice maker but I didn't need to. I fixed it anyway, so he also fixed my handle on the dishwasher. I asked about the seal on my fridge door cause it's kinda beat, he said he wouldn't replace it. Pros: Honest, cool guy. Fast repair didn't waste anytime. Cons: works alone so you may have to wait. But I'd say he's worth it. You never want to see a repair guy, but will be happy to have him to call. read more

Our GE stove top indicated a bad burner, leaving the "hot" light constantly glowing. Eric Hollister showed up and performed his diagnostic magic. He determined that all of the burners were performing as they should, but there was a ground voltage leaking 2 volts to the light. Well, we used Rays a coupe times and they were awesome. Then we had an oven problem. Came over and charged me $65 for the visit. Told me to use my own temperature gauge and compare to the oven readout, and if different, he would order the board to replace. They were different. Called him - 3 times. Never called back. Our built in GE monogram microwave had stopped working. Price for a new one was about 1400.00. That's way too much for a microwave! I was referred to Ray's Appliance. Explained the problem to Ron the owner of Ray's. He said that I needed a new magnetron. He gave me an estimate for $350 parts and labor. It took a couple days to get the part. Once he had the part we scheduled the repair. Ron and his brother came out to the house and installed the magnetron and reinstalled the microwave in about 45 minutes. The microwave is as good as new and I saved over $1000 by repairing versus buying new. Highly recommend Ray's. read more

On Next Door and Yelp, I found the reviews very helpful. The service I experienced was most definitely 5 star. My Samsun washing machine, I some how created a tear in the rubber gasket. I had been dragging my feet about fixing. After reading the recommendation called Rays. My life this week was crazy , had a granddaughter who had an operation so getting hold of me was not the easiest thing to do, the company even returned my call on Sunday. I was so worried during COVID quarantine because my built-in KitchenAid stopped cooling... I wasn't sure if I would find someone willing to help.
