My very first review here and what a review it will be!!…read more I had an experience at Pump #2 on 3/28/2020. Pulled up to the pump with 30 miles left in my tank. I went in and purchased a pack of cigarettes (I know, I know...) and $10 on pump #2. This was the last of my money. I proceeded to pump gas like I have for about 35 years and drove away. When I looked at my tank after hopping on 101, I noticed that my tank still read at 30 miles. I panicked and beelined back to find out what had happened. I had heard all of the normal clicks and did not think a thing. I pulled back up to pump #2 and went inside to explain. The cashier said that there was nothing that I could do and I panicked. I asked her to check the pump for malfunction. She said no and I explained that I live in my car and I need that gas, please, it is NOT in my tank! She asked another employee who was stocking refrigerated drinks and she came out to my car and looked at the pump which said $10 and 3. something in gas and she gave me a chance to try again. I made certain that I heard actual liquid pumping into my tank, screwed on the cap after the click and went into my car to give the cashier who given me a second chance to pump the gas I HAD PURCHASED! I gave the first cashier a small Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer as a 'thank you' for helping me out and seemingly believing me. When I returned the next morning to buy cigarettes, (I know, I know) the cashier who had given me the second chance barked rudely at me that she had checked the cameras all day and I had only been on camera once. I said that I must have come in spirit the first time. I was taken aback with this accusation. I got teary and looked to the cashier who had rung up my transaction and she bluntly said, 'No, you just bought cigarettes.' You can imagine how I felt at that point. I informed the one accusing me that I am very honest and I give money back! I told her that I gave $70 back to the ladies at my doctors office who had pooled it and given to me to help in January. She said why? And I said because I don't take handouts. I said I don't even take food stamps. All three ladies ganged up on me and I am the most honest person in the world. I give money back to cashiers when they give me too much. Are these ladies projecting? I took my money and said I would not want those cigarettes and walked out in disbelief. After I got over crying for half an hour and telling the cashier at the Shell station down the street in full on tears about this accusation, I hopped on the phone with my number blocked and the cashier who had rudely told me no more hot water for my thermos with which I ASKED to get after PURCHASING something. (This was the start of our 'shelter in place'. Now I had to pay $.50 for a cup of hot water which of course I had no money for. (Believe it or not) I was upset at how rudely I was informed of this.) This was the cashier who answered my blocked number call when asking for the owner's name. She said, "We can't give out that information." and she HUNG UP. So here I sit, wondering why so secretive? Obviously, this is a KNOWN issue with the pumps. The other review said the SAME THING. #1 though. Along with most people, I expect that the gas that I CANNOT see entering my tank is the amount that I have paid for. The receipt to me is the gas level in my tank. There was gas in my tank after the second pumping attempt. I wonder if the California State Board of Equalization knows about this. I believe they regulate gas and the numerous associated taxes. Maybe that's why the clerk was so secretive about the owner's name. (update: 3/31/2020- The correct department is Weights and Measures. REPORTED TODAY. Beware of being called a thief and to do business invisibly, ( or with a malfunctioning video camera ) or with a cashier who for being so young, has a very short memory. I bought cigarettes (I know, I know) and $10 of gas. How on earth would I know to pull up to pump # 2 and know to dispute my empty purchase? Accusatory, RUDE, and BULLIES. These women ganged up on me and with this pandemic, their behavior was not kind or justified. They are fortunate to still have a job to go to! Not many of us do... I hope that this honest and detailed review will have you question not only the working order of the gasoline pumps but also, the INTEGRITY of these three cashiers. To be accused of theft is incredibly hard to bear when I live my life in a very honest and straightforward manner. I strive for honesty at ALL times. Unlike the three cashiers at Circle K on Redwood Drive, Rohnert Park, CA, 94928 on the morning of 3/29/2020. I would avoid this gas station like Covid-19.
