We love and try to support this local market as we live just a few blocks away. They have a premium deli and meat/fish market. With that being said, then gentleman with glasses and a ponytail who runs the deli is horrible. Today, July 12th, we placed an online order for sandwiches for our entire family at about 9:30 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. pickup. When I got to the store and asked about my order, the man looked at me like I was confused. Then, he tapped the screen behind him and said the system was "down". He did ask if he could make the sandwiches now, but he has serviced me before, and it would have taken him 30 minutes to make 4 sandwiches, if you're lucky enough to get his attention. In any event, I diverted and bought pre-made sandwiches to save time. When I checked out, I told the checker about my online order, and he mentioned that to be standard. Honestly, this is all just a shame since you have great food, but a crappy online system and a deli employee who, let's be honest, hates or appears to either hate his job or the customers. Not only is it wildly overpriced, but the hours are not up to date anywhere. I live in the neighborhood and went to pick up some last minute ingredients for a dinner tonight for not to find locked doors. There was a man in a car who had the same issue and was very upset as well The last time I was here, the employees at the deli, were openly talking about the wages of the employees at the meat counter and saying how they don't do anything. I found this to be really odd, especially since I was waiting to just ask a question. All in all, I think I'm done here. It had been a few years since the last time we shopped at Pacific Market. When we walked in there was an overall weird vibe. The workers were all interested in talking amongst themselves with no acknowledgment of customers. We grabbed a couple individual premade meals. One was a turkey dinner which consisted of deli turkey cut thick then covered with gravy. I would have been better off purchasing a frozen turkey dinner. The worst part was paying for our purchases. We had about 10 items and bought our own shopping bag which we placed at the front of our items. The cashier just threw it to the back of the check stand then started scanning the items expecting us to bag our own items. Of course the cashier was done with the scanning before I got half the items in our shopping bag, then glared at me to hurry up and pay since there were now more customers in his line. After paying the cashier, he started scanning the next customer's items and pushing them back as I was still bagging my stuff. I told my spouse as we walked out never again. Sorry but when you are paying full service market prices, you shouldn't be expected to self serve your purchases then made to feel you are slowing down their process. I'm a local and have coming here for years. Today (6/26 at 8:03 pm when posted that they're closed at 8:30), I went here at 8pm and saw that the meat department was totally closed. From being in the service industry myself with a chef husband, I know that there is no reason for the meat department to be closed with no one in the building at 8pm...meaning, they started closing around 7/7:30. An older woman with dark, slicked back hair told me that "sometimes they close up early". My husband and I came here for one specific item and she was very rude telling us we "should've known". On our way out, she flipped me off and told me not to come back after I told her that they weren't closed yet. I love this little market. The staff is super friendly and more than willing to stop what they are doing to help out the customers. The isles are a little tight but it's okay, everything is organized and you have so many choices! Prices can be a little higher than going to Safeway, Walmart , target, etc, but it's ok. I'd rather go here and pay a little more than go to some other store where the employees act like they hate their jobs and hardly acknowledge the customers. They have a nice deli counter, delicious hot food to go and delicious pastries made in house. This is a small neighborhood market that offers a lot. I heard about the deli so I decided to go and ordered the #14 no bacon and it was SOO good! I can't wait until I have the time to get another. BUT I will say is they need to train their employees on customer service because how do you see customers standing in front of the deli and not even greet them hello or hello we will be right with you. We love Pacific Market! They have a wonderful counter where you can order custom deli sandwiches. They have three or four people there to make your sandwich exactly the way that you want it. They also have to-go sandwiches, to-go salads and to-go entrées. In addition to that they have a sushi bar and a meat counter and a small curated selection of specialty groceries as well and fresh fruit and produce upfront. One of the nicest, cleanest, stores around. They have an excellent variety of cheeses, wine, and a section of candy which is nostalgic . They have a fresh meat market with several butchers to serve you. And seafood also. Lots of bakery treats in the back of the store, & excellent fresh sourdough bread, & other breads. Their hot food to go is really good, and also has a salad bar, & soup. I love their ribs, marinated shrimp, soups, all kinds of entrees that you help yourself too. Great wines to choose from. This neighborhood market is a rare and hidden gem...quality goods and friendly staff. Whenever we get sandwiches for a group from Pacific, everyone raves - they're widely known to be the best in town. Overall it's just a special spot and feels like a unicorn b/c most markets like it have been swallowed up or put out of business by corporate super marts. With its smallness comes a few inconsistencies, yes, but when they occur they're minor. Highly recommend, if nothing else for the experience alone. P.S. What a wonderful, little grocery store in Santa rosa! My husband and I decided to take a trip out here for a day on Thanksgiving and this store had an entire array of delicious Thanksgiving foods at the delicious section. The food was so stunning! I will be dreaming of those scalloped potatoes for years to come, the turkey was so moist and tender, greens beans on point and their mini carrot cakes were of course a great dessert to pair with our holiday lunch. While it is not terrible - PM has certainly lost a lot of my business since the change in ownership. I went again yesterday out of necessity & I could find very little organic or other good conventional produce. The Yukon potatoes were green & there was little else that looked worth the money. Both sides of the produce aisle used to have pretty decent produce - both conventional & organic. Now one side is filled with a ton of plastic containers & energy drinks. The meat counter used to be reasonably stocked with decent looking product - now most all meat is packed in plastic - I won't buy it. Same with the seafood/fish counter. What used to be a great extension of local seafood product is no more. The deli hot food section is ok - seems to have improved of late, but even the sandwiches have taken a hit. I have shopped here since PM's inception (20+ years ago). The remodel of the store is nice - but I would take the old one any day. It's great to have a neighborhood market, especially when a forgotten dinner item is needed - but that's about all I will go there for anymore. read more

I go to Pacific Market every time I'm in town and absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone else in the area. The employees are amazing and a great help when I need to find something specific. Recently a new company took over and I've personally seen a lot of improvements and lower prices. The quality of produce especially has been outstanding. I basically live on salads, fruit bowls, smoothies, and veggies + dip so I heavily rely on good produce and this market delivers. The deli hasn't changed much since new ownership and is still wonderful whenever I get anything from there. It's supposed to be expanding soon I think, but they're gonna be keeping all of the sammies and other goodies so i'm excited! I'll continue to shop here whenever I'm in the area and wish the new owners/ company good luck (not that they need it since the good food speaks for itself, but giant corporations like safeway/walmart/target are such monopolies over small businesses and we don't need another local company to go extinct!) read more

I believe this market has taken a turn for the better. I can't speak to the alcohol so I don't know about the craft beers if they've gone bad. But I believe the produce has improved. I don't take my cherry tomatoes or strawberries home and have them go bad the next day anymore. I also feel like the produce prices have gone down and the quality is going up. The store looks good and I haven't noticed the price is going up. The deli is a gem I love going to this deli the sandwiches are awesome and it seems like they haven't changed them at all. I think this new company is going to do justice to the store from what I've seen and I wish them all the best of luck from a local who's been going to the store for 20 years I feel this is a good change. read more

So I traveled here in October 2021and all because of a silly movie I love, Scream. But the feel of the town, the vibe and the market made me love this area even more. I would love to move here. The people here are welcoming and helpful, except for the 20 year old cashier. Didn't get his name but like all kids they'd rather be somewhere else. I hate to do this. Pacific Market is our go to store. They half a great staff. But the changes for the worst were immediately evident, especially in prices. Today I purchased a local craft beer that was 5 months old, and had turned for the worst. Also prices have gone up almost 20 percent. Also have heard complaints about the produce going downhill from neighbors. Sorry to see the abrupt changes from the new ownership. read more
