I just wanted to say two of the men working there yesterday 6/27 were so nice and helpful but if I hadn't had the encounter with them I probably would not ever come back to your store. The person who "greets"and is the first person you see is important and the lady up front acted like she couldn't be bothered when I asked if they had something. She did look but just said "No". Finally made it in to our new Total Wine and More last week. What an experience. First me and my husband walk in to free tequila tastings! I hate tequila but it was Matthew McConaughey's brand and how could I saw no to a free tasting on a Friday night?! Then we shopped around just to check out the store. They had everything! So many varieties of liquor even some THC drinks, hangover cures, fund snacks and candy... What's not to like?! Oh yeah and my theme this year is good customer service and this place has it! Workers everywhere ready and happy to help, no lines at check stands. Now the best part- their chillin station!! I had to try it with a bottle of vodka, made a TikTok video of me doing it and my video went viral! 3.9M views currently. This is my second shopping at Total Wine & More and I was beyond blown away and impressed by the friendliness and superior service from the entire staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by two gentlemen that were building a display, and then I believe the manager walked by and greeted me with a welcoming & friendly smile. And as I hit the department I was looking for, the department manager came over, greeted me, and offered assistance. As I made my way to check out, the kid running the cash register went above and beyond to provide an outstanding level of service and was super friendly. I was just blown away how every single employee in the store was literally on the same page and it was so nice to see. One of my favorite stores, have been here multiple times to purchase expensive bottles, and had a very positive interaction with staff members until today. This lovely guy in the picture decided to follow us and awkwardly stood there until i decided which bottle i want to purchase today. And send two other staff members to ask if i need help with anything and continued to stand there. Im not sure if that's part of their protocol to follow each customer but this experience was incredibly uncomfortable and that's not the right way to treat a customer. Last visit, I'm looking for champagne for my mother's milestone birthday. He recommends a twenty-five-dollar bottle. I could have gone with it, but I go for the seventy dollar Perrier-Jouët she actually likes. Boom, sudden disgust, silence, refusal to engage, like I had committed some cosmic crime just by ignoring his recommendation. This isn't a fluke, it's the same thinly veiled scorn every time. Every staff member I've met has been incredibly knowledgeable about their products...and there are many. Total Wine is huge, almost overwhelming at first, but their service is personal and helpful. I have Been coming to Total wine since they have opened the employees and nice, kind, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately this is my second time having to get checked out by "EMILY" every interaction I have with her she's very rude and has smart remarks. She ask me if I wanted a bag for my item I politely called if there were any other bigger bags instead of the one she gave me. She sighed and snatched the bigger bag and grabbed my item very quickly. And said loudly THANK YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!!. WOW me asking her a question really rubbed her the wrong way. Now I know from now on to go to a different check out line. read more

Went in there the other day; very nice, great layout and ambience, tremendous selection and pricing. Big improvement to nearby Bevmo. The cashier was very nice and pleasant and apologized for the wait. She was likely referring to the two "managers" laughing it up nearby in the service area while people line up at the sole cashier. We will return but "managers" should be more aware when their employees, and customers, need a little help. read more

The store itself has a lot of choices. The customer service is terrible! Emily is an assistant store manager and can't be bothered to even make eye contact when speaking with customers. She's terrible! There was a rep there named Francis who was so kind and welcoming and she's a rep. What is wrong here is the employees are so rude and not at at interested in being helpful. Went into total Wine to grab a few things for a cocktail and they ID me and my friend that I was with. I gave them my ID and my friend didn't have hers on her so we couldn't provide that. They wouldn't sell to me the person buying it because my friend didn't bring in her ID. Absolutely ridiculous. They need to reinforce their policy by leaving a sign before walking into the store. Good prices and unbelievable selection. Every single time I have been approached and offered assistance and recommendations by sales assoc. I opened a bottle at home that tasted oxidized. Brought it back with no receipt (I am a registered customer though) and they allowed me to exchange for a different brand, plus I bought additional items. Great customer service. This place is about 20 times better than BevMo. Pretty extensive selection of just about everything and really helpful people there.

We live 5 hours away in Bakersfield and when we are in town visiting family, we come here to get non-alcoholic beer we can't find in our area! Great selections and great prices!! We have also had really good customer service which is always appreciated! read more

Huge store Bottle Barn and Bev Mo should be very nervous. The overall selection is overwhelming. They have products that you didn't even know existed. Ordering seems to be sporadic at best, and it's hard to know when certain items are in - because they don't know. My main aversion to the store is the employees. If they were just simply knowledgeable, and they were just consultants, that would be fine. But the awkward, I've never heard of that, but how about this, or that, totally unrelated item doesn't help. I avoid the store more often than not because of the employees read more

They have a huge selection of yuppie wines and spirits and a very nice cigar section if you're in to that. Not to mention the employees there are very helpful and friendly. The bottom line here is stop wasting your time going to BevMo and pancake your asses on down to Total Wine and More, they will definitely be getting all of my alcoholic needs from now on read more

I visited Total wine and more with high expectations. Last fall while I was in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area, I went to their store located there. They had a great selection of NA beers, and for my wife and other family members, a great selection of Sonoma County wines. I wish I could say the same for the Santa Rosa store. The NA beer selection is very poor. There are better selections at most of our local markets. Local wines, not as prominent as I would expect. Frankly, you have better choices at Bottle Barn and to a degree, Bevmo. I really wouldn't waist your time there. read more

Love that finally opened a total wine out here been going to San Rafael to get our drinks. Great drinks and selections as always. customer service by most of the staff was great except one guy serving tasters by the beers. He was on the phone the whole time and didn't want to tell us anything about the drink that he was giving tasters out for. He even acted very weird when he asked us for a photo like what? We didn't think too much about it but we just casually asked the check out girl when we were leaving and she said no that's not part of the routine usually. So weird. Probably never going taste testing there again. The other guy by the wines was great gave us info and a coupon though! This was for Saturday 6/29/2024 not today but it was so weird so we had to share. read more

Group ID policy is rediculous...If I take my son in with me because I need to pick something they ask for his ID and won't sell to me. If you're gonna ID a family including kids with family then you NEED to make a sign saying absolutely no children under the age of 21 allowed in store. Absolutely stupid and outrageous. Legally I could have just said ok had my son wait in car while I walk out of store and walk back in to then grab the same alcohol and then buy it. Just doesn't make sense at all read more

I was really looking forward to checking this place out after turning 21 a few months ago. I went in today to get a bottle of champagne and was treated very poorly by the staff. I went to check out with my little sister when I was told I could not purchase without her ID. When I simply asked why this was considering she was not holding any alcohol and I was the one paying, they were very rude and the person at the register completely ignored my question and called for the other cashier. Both of them were very degrading and belittling about this situation even though my sister and I were just asking about the policy. It was very obvious they felt that they were able to treat us like this due to our age. We both understood that their policy is their policy and we were not trying to argue it at all, but there's definitely a kinder way to explain it to customers, especially when there's no clear sign that states people under 21 aren't allowed in the store AT ALL. They seriously need to have some customer service training with their staff. This is not a business I would like to spend my money at for as long as those two work there.
