My carpet was really dirty. I needed it cleaned and I needed a reasonable price. I finally reached out to businesses on yelp with i) best rated ii) appeared to service my area iii) good reviews. Yelp's message for a quote feature is excellent. I immediately started getting responses. Unfortunately the first couple were not able to accommodate my third floor location. Then Hugo responded, asking all the right questions and even better...all the right answers. We quickly came to agreement on price and date. His correspondence btw was very consistent with what I could tell was a good sign of professionalism. The day of service he called to get clarification on where I was located and then proceeded to scope out the work area and discuss the fact that my carpet was in need of deep cleaning rather than a regular steam clean. I wasnt surprised and opted to go with his recommendation. I felt very comfortable with being able to trust him and his partner in my apartment while I went to run an errand to stay clear of them working. I asked for him to call and let me know when they were done. He called and we talked about the next steps...ventilation, drying time etc. I had left the payment so I was okay with him locking the door and would catch up with him later. When I returned home, I walked into what looked like new carpet. It was gleaming and bright! The gray build up of dirt was removed and the carpet was back to looking clean. What a relief. I texted him to thank him and compliment him.on the fantastic job. He responded saying to let him know if I had any concerns or questions. The guy I had previously used to clean my carpet canceled on me with less than 12 hours notice and I was in panic mode to get my carpets cleaned before hosting a book club party on Sunday. Our carpets, in our rental condo, weren't even really great when we moved in but recently we had gotten slack with wearing shoes on them and walking outside in bare feet and then getting the carpets dirty. The off white carpets were REALLY dirty. I called Hugo for a quote and we texted back and forth. He quickly confirmed that he would send someone at 10:30am the next day. He texted me the morning of and let me know that one of his guys would be there. Unfortunately, there was a hiccup and his guy didn't show up. The service was amazing! I have a little over 1000 square feet place, 2 bed room 2 bath. My place requires a portable cleaner since I live in a complex where you can't park anywhere near the building. I called and searched for so many places. Finally got to Hugo and I booked the service about a week before. I booked the service to be on the memorial day Monday. I was surprised that he was willing to come on a off day. Hugo came at least 30 minutes earlier than the actual time, but had to tell me that he couldn't do the service. He couldn't get the equipment from the storage room. He arrived on time and really explained what he was going to do with the solution for the pet stains and pee smells. He also offered up other services to replace the padding but I didn't take those services. But it's good to know he can do pad replacement. He was so thorough walking me through the service. He promptly started the job, he was finished in less than an hour. Immediately, my carpet looked brand new. He had also added a neutralizing spray to make sure the smell of the pet urine was gone! I had a good experience with Hugo and his services. I needed the carpets cleaned and the balcony/patio areas pressure washed before I moved out of a condo I was renting. He was one of the few businesses I could find that offered both carpet cleaning and pressure washing services, and he was the one with the best reviews to back it up. Not to mention, one of the few that could perform the services with the closest water outlet being 150 feet from the front door of my upstairs condo. He was easy to get a quote and appointment with, and he asked all the right questions. On the day of the carpet cleaning, I had another appointment at the time he was to show up and I tried to leave the house unlocked so he could begin working. For some reason, the house was locked and I cost him 45 minutes of his time waiting for me. The carpets came out looking super clean just how I wanted them and the balcony/patio area was so much cleaner than before. He even did the deep cleaning for the carpet in one of the rooms without charging me for it because I had declined the deep cleaning but he thought it would be better to do it anyways. Since our place is on the 4th floor, Hugo could not use his usual hose from his truck, but instead he was able to put together his portable unit to accommodate us. He did a great job as he sprayed every corner of our place before he started using the machine. He even doubled up on the dirty spots and was very careful vacuuming around the various electronic appliances around the house. The job did not take that long and the carpet was dry in 2 hours flat?!?....That is insane as I have used the Rug Doctor before and it takes anywhere from 6-8 hours to dry. I would highly recommend Hugo as his starting base price is like $50-60 and it goes up based on how big your place is and how many rooms you are trying to do. It was Friday, our contractor just finished work on the old house. We asked Hugo if he could come clean the two bed room carpet before the rain. Hugo checked his Friday afternoon schedule and called back right after lunch. The carpet had stains almost everywhere after years of use. Looks like my follow ups were somehow deleted (dear yelp, that's sketchy). At the end of the day here, the ball was in Hugo's court and he dropped it. He was already granted permission to perform the cleaning, contrary to what he indicates below. He already knew the address contrary to what he indicates below. (how else would he have shown up at the correct address at 4pm, guessing random addresses in San Jose? Don't think so.) He even goes so far as to say "if you were so desperate for my services you would have called me back". That's a legitimate quote from this business owner. I trusted him on his word, and he screwed up 2 days in a row, multiple times each day. From reading other reviews, it sounds like if you catch him on a good day, the service is a good value. That unfortunately was not my experience, and after posting my experience to yelp I was harassed multiple times in text messages following this ordeal.
