The wash itself was nice but it did not do the job the first time. My car was still covered with bugs. So we asked to go back through. The second time the person spraying the cars was even worse than the first if that possible - even after the guy said he'd tell them to get the mirrors and grill good before going through - end result the same; still has bugs. Because they don't hand dry I also have water spot in my car now along with bugs. Will not be coming back.

They were happy to have my come in, though, and took care of the oil change for me while they were at it. Since I already had the oil, filter, and replacement plug they only charged me $10! Everyone who I spoke to was friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Bonus points for knowing how to drive a stick (you'd be surprised how often employees tire/car places no one that can). I purchase tires regularly as a result of my high-mileage driving. This particular car is on its fourth set of tires. They most recent set was purchased from a well known chain with a lot of commercials bragging about low prices. Well I am here to say that chain does not compare to the customer service and quality tire I purchased from this Metro 25 franchise. My tires were ordered over the phone and an appointment made to install them the same day. (My tires aren't a common size.) I arrived on time for my appointment and about 1-hr later I was on my way with new tires installed. There was no upselling, much appreciated. Waiting area isn't beautiful, but it was large with plenty of room to move around with other waiting customers. No frills, so bring your own coffee and entertainment if you plan to wait on your car. I would highly recommend this business to friends and clients. They have earned all of my future automotive service needs.

It may be true that some repair shops do not possess the specialized skills and tools necessary to care for these vehicles. However, Tuffy's in Mount Pleasant has provided superior and inexpensive service for my fastidious Land Rover LR2. On my most recent visit, I had extensive work done to my rear differential, the radiator replaced, coolant leaks repaired, spark plugs replaced, the fuel injection system cleaned, the front differential inspected, an oil change performed and a light replaced. The most commendable aspect of the recent service is that they were unwavering in their price, despite numerous unforeseen setbacks and uncovering of additional damaged parts. They, unquestionably, took a significant financial loss to the tune of hundreds of dollars (possibly $1,000+) in the course of the above repairs. They wrote-off in excess of $800 in parts that were later found to be in need of repair, provided probably about 5 times the amount of labor billed for, waived many diagnosis fees and threw in a few of the smaller items for free. The above repairs cost me about $1750, but I am confident that Land Rover would have charged me in excess of $4,000 for the same repairs. Historically, there have been other repairs that I got done at Tuffy for 50% or less of what Land Rover quoted me. My experience with Land Rover Farmington Hills, on the other hand, has not been favorable. When I had a faulty PCV valve that resulted in a horrifically loud and high-pitched screech (but only after driving for 1-2 hours), they threw thousands of dollars of new parts at it while charging extensive diagnostic fees, only to have the problem unresolved. They had the vehicle for over 3.5 weeks time, would rarely return my calls, and never drove it enough for the symptom to present. Eventually, I brought it in to them after the symptom presented, but it took a collaboration of 3-4 technicians there to be able to figure out what the problem was.

You can't trust what they say, immediately try to sell up-charged oil and came out to 50 bucks for an oil change. Everywhere else in town is around 25 and they try to take advantage of you. Wouldn't recommend. read more

After trying to contact the dealer (no response), two independent auto repair shops (no response), I decided to stop at the Pit Stop where I have gone for oil changes for over 10 years. They immediately saw the problem when I pulled in, and I told them that I would pay them whatever they thought was appropriate to just reattach the shield so it wasn't dragging. After about 10 minutes, they emerged from the pit beneath the car and said it was all repaired. When I asked how much I owed them, they said "nothing." I insisted on tipping them for their time and trouble, but I was amazed that a repair for which any of the shops/dealers would have likely charged me over $100 and insisted on an appointment was handled by the Pit Stop crew at no charge with no waiting. I've always had great customer service there, but this went above and beyond. Thank you, Pit Stop crew!! I highly recommend your shop to others.

After having to call them near the end of the day for an update (they didn't reach out), they informed me that my vehicle needed a $3,700 repair. I approved the work and waited nearly a week for completion. Upon pickup, the same burning odor persisted in the cab. I had to return the truck and leave it again. Their response? The first expensive repair wasn't actually the problem, and I needed an additional $1,100 worth of work - with no guarantee this would resolve the issue. Needing my vehicle for work, I reluctantly approved this second repair. When my husband went to pick up the truck after this second round of repairs, it wouldn't even start and had engine warning lights on. Their response was dismissive despite the fact I'd just spent nearly $5,000 and my truck still wasn't operational. Their solution was simply that they 'needed to diagnose the problem some more.' At this point, I've paid thousands for incomplete repairs, lost valuable time without my vehicle, and received poor communication throughout the process. I expect a repair facility to properly diagnose issues before charging for unnecessary repairs and to deliver a working vehicle when promised."
