Ohhhh yeeeahhh baby. Finally got to try this place out and it's what shwarma dreams are made of. Food was cooked to order and fresh. Vibe is chill and casual. Ordered the chicken tikka which was moist and well seasoned. Rice was fluffy, too. The beef shwarma was fantastic. Beef was flavorful, there's just enough tang and I really loved the pita. Service was great, I was greeted as soon as I walked in and helped immediately. I didn't get a chance to talk with the owner (I believe) but he was super helpful and friendly with a couple that was ordering. Fast Eddy's is delicious and deserves your patronage! Not my first time but can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. I always get the Big Eddy with Taziki and Garlic sauces (although that might change!). It's schwarma-ish; familiar middle eastern flavors, delicious chicken or beef and your choice of sauces. It has pickles on it too which is delicious and compliments the rest of it with a nice cut of acid. My partner got the Spicy Chicken Curry. Dang - this will be what I get next. It's a deep rich red curry, more like a stew. It's so warm, rich and flavorful. It's spicy but not really hot - it's near perfect. Got to add - we have had just epic service every time we're in. Everyone is friendly and accommodating- they ask and remember every one's names, and Justin in particular is great. read more

I saw all the wonderful reviews for Fast Eddy's for the service and the food, so I decided to try it out. I wasn't sure where to place my order when I walked in but a very kind employee at the bar took my order there and called it over to the owner who was at the register. I'd asked for a recommendation and at first he said falafel. I mentioned that I wanted some meat and so he then said to get their shawarma, the big beef Eddy. I added an appetizer- booreg with chicken curry instead of the beef since I already had a steak sandwich. I waited a relatively brief time for my food to be made fresh and then I was off. When I arrived home, I bit into the beef Eddy and while the meat was really good, I was surprised to see pickles in it and I realized that they were the cause of the soggy pita. Soggy food is unfortunately not my preference so I was disappointed by this. The booreg was well fried and stuffed but the meat mixed with the potatoes was a little dry. I put their tatziki sauce on it, which was quite good. While it is thick with pieces of cucumber in it, and unable to be easily spread, I liked the texture and flavor. And of course, I love a great garlic sauce and theirs was great. The customer service by the employee who helped me when I entered was very much appreciated but when I ordered the booreg, there appeared to be a misunderstanding about whether they could make it or not as the owner snapped at the cook about whether the mixture was made that day. I guess based on the other reviews, and what I saw when the owner took table orders for other customers entering, I was expecting overly friendly service but that just wasn't my experience. In any event, the food was good but I had some issues with the soggy pita and thick/dry chicken and potato mixture in the booreg. There are many other items on the menu and they have lunch specials so I hope to be back. read more

My daughter setup a meeting here. I was reluctant to try middle eastern food again. What a great experience. Not only was the wait staff great I sat at the bar while I waited on the rest of our party and watched the kitchen crew interact which is something I like to do when they are visible. Impressive how well they worked together. Then the food! Tried several different menu items and it was all excellent. There are several items I will have to go back and try and will have to go back for the ones I had this day. Will be meeting my daughter for lunch here in the near future. The service was great and one of the owners was there and very personable. Really enjoys sharing the family recipes they serve. Definitely will be telling people to try this restaurant. By far the best skewer I ever had. Me and a friend of mine went for the first time and was not disappointed. The waiter we had described our food options and where the menu was derived from. The owner was quick to connect with everyone on a personal level by talking with the customers and getting to know everyone's names. We loved the ambiance in the restaurant with band posters everywhere and playing 90s alternative music. It was inviting and can't wait to come back to try the other options the waiter recommended. I literally cannot say enough about how great this place is! I'm in Jacksonville for work this week and some coworkers and I placed an online lunch to go order from here. We arrived at the restaurant and the place was PACKED! So many people inside and the food looked and smelled amazing (which it was by the way simply amazing). I can't express how great the service was as well. Every single server in that restaurant spoke to us, tried to take care of us and assure us the food would be out soon. They were equally as attentive and appreciative to every single customer in the place. We were in no hurry because we were enjoying watching them prepare all the food in the open kitchen area. The people and service were so amazing that I would have given them 5 starts even if the food had been just ok. Well I'm happy to say it wasn't the case...the food was perfection!! The orders were exactly what we had ordered, it was fresh, hot and delicious. I tried the Sunday pot roast one trip and their trio of stews called the "magic carpet ride". After dinner I mentioned how much I love hummus and I had a small sample as full as I was I could not believe how good it was. A great find in a city with so many chain restaurants. We came in and got the Booreg Beef egg rolls, Nada's Arabic Mac, and the chicken tacos. Everything was outstanding! We came in an hour before close and the service was terrific! Fast Eddy's Quick Mideast officially opened for business on Thursday (3.25.2021). Middle Eastern cuisine is the name of the eating game here...delicious ones if I say so myself. Stepping inside this place, it is clean, nicely decorated. Framed posters of 90's Alternative Rock Bands covers the walls, and of course, ONLY Alternative Rock music being played continuously. I'm a big fan of such music so I was already in music heaven even before I ordered food. And yes yes folks.. I successfully refrained myself from doing any Air Guitar. But enough of music, let's talk food shall we. * Spicy Chicken Curry soup (5/5): Nicely spiced. I wish there were more. I could've eaten twice the amount. * Bamiyah: Okra & Beef Stew (5/5): A taste of fresh ingredients. All I can say is both soups were tasty. The soups here is what I would call "made with love", type of food that would come straight from mama's kitchen. So. First of...free 2 starts because I had this delivered, and there's no the restuarant should be held liable for a drop in quality due the the delivery time (although Victoria was delightful on the phone exlaining my options). Second 3 more stars...because this food was better in a delivery than a couple of the competitors closer to home arewhen sitting in their restaurant. Got the beef shwarma with garlic sauce and tahini on the side. The beef was juicy. You need napkins handy juicy. And perfectly cooked. Not overcooked as often tends to be the case. It was also properly sliced to the right thickness. Some places seem to think they're making a cheese steak, and slice accordingly. This was just right. With the tangy tahini on the side, it was marvelous. Best I've had so far in Jacksonville. Got the falafel appetizer. Have to admit, I too am a bit of a snob. The color was quite dark, which had me a bit worried until a took a bite, and erased all worries. Great flavor and texture. Not too dry (ate the first one without tzatziki sauce). So good in fact I ate them so quickly I forgot to take a picture. The fries were great too. Still crisp even after the delivery time, and plentiful (had to eat some to see the food). Excellent flavor. The portion sizes are large. You could easily feed two with the single Big Eddy and the fries. Very pleasant experience. read more

I'm going to go back and give this place another shot based off the reviews alone. The people here are AMAZING!! So kind and full of energy & I appreciate good energy. The place is small but it's inviting. I got the shawarma and the presentation was beautiful but the flavor didn't match up. My pita was cold & possibly stale, the onions were huge and it was just meh. We got hummus for our table and it tasted kind of bitter. The fries were great! I do not have enough good things or praise to say about Fast Eddie's. We came here once, hungry and looking for a decent Middle Eastern/Mediterranean place -- and what we found has to be one of the best restaurants in JAX. We come back almost weekly now and the crew here has never us down. From the moment you step in you're treated like family. Truly family -- not the kitschy way some places make you "feel like family" because they smile too much or are the fake-nice. No, at Fast Eddy's they ask your name when you sit down and call you by it throughout your meal. Add to that the family traditions and flavors that come out in each and every bite and you've got an authentic family feeling and taste. We have yet to have found something we don't like to eat here -- from the stews to the kebabs and the sandwiches, everything is amazing and made with love. One recommendation: don't forget to get the falafel with the sauce plate. It's honestly some of the best I've had on this continent. read more

This neighborhood restaurant is a jewel in Jacksonville's crown! It's family owned by 2 brothers who love family, friends and food; and when you walk in your greeted and you can tell they have never met a stranger, and they're happy to see you. Their food is a fantastic mix of Middle eastern dishes and all America sandwiches that have been handed down from their mom and they have perfected over the years. Everything I've eaten has been amazing! The staff are welcoming and super happy to help, I get my food to go but they always offer me a glass of water if I wait for more than a minute, and you can tell they're happy to work here. The brothers Wiam and Raed are always there and are so happy and welcoming. And I love the vibe here, the brothers are into heavy metal music and always rocking out but not so loud you want to bang your head on anything, and I love the band posters and decor, but mostly I love that they have a poster of Mother Love Bone, the band that started the grunge movement out in Seattle! And the only thing that has changed is that the food and service and overall vibe is better than it was two years ago and it was outstanding then ( If that is possible). Brought a friend for his first visit and all he was rave about everything. I don't love eating out because I know how to cook and I'm often disappointed but the value of $20 for $10 made me give them a shot. My visit was about 1:30 on a Friday afternoon. I was surprised there were several guests. Quickly greeted and sat. There's a counter and booths. Simple casual decor. Server introduced herself and the other servers. They seem to have a team approach to service and over the course of my experience I interacted with all three FOH workers. She asked me if this was my first time and did a nice walk through of the menu with me. I found this very helpful as I'm an old white lady from the Midwest so middle eastern food is not standard fare for me. Went with the Al-Rasheed Steak tacos with a side of onion rings. Server suggested dipping sauce for onion rings and I agreed. $1 up charge for onion rings and .50 upcharge for sauce. Both were fantastic. Sauce was bangin'. Probably the best tacos I've had since moving here 6 years ago which is nuts considering I've gone to all the places known for tacos. Loaded with meat... grilled onions, turnips, cucumbers, red cabbage and tomato. So much flavor. With my voucher my balance was 50cents. Left $10 because food and service rocked so I didn't feel like I needed the full savings of the voucher. Loved supporting an independent locally owned place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

Fast Eddy's Quick Mideast in one word; great. There's a reason why this place has amazing reviews. The food here is top-notch. The environment is warm and welcoming. The owner's are interactive and want to make sure you have a great experience. The 90s band posters on the wall provide a sense of nostalgia, but the food is seriously the star. The Wicked Garden appetizer consisting of perfectly fried vegetables was an absolute success. Their dipping sauces, including their whipped garlic spread are amazing. Can we talk about falafel? Unlike a lot of local joints in town serving dry and bland falafel, Fast Eddy's KILLS the falafel game. The beef tikka was expertly cooked to perfection and juicy. A variety of the soups and stews I found to be a touch over seasoned, but that is a matter of personal preference as I'm pretty salt sensitive. Overall, I would go back time and time again to try more of the menu. I've been wanting to try this place. We walked in and the owner Eddy was super friendly and attentive. Helped us with questions we had about the menu. We ordered the sampler plater and a side of hummus while we waited for our food. The portions were huge. So we were full and took home leftovers for the next day. A fast casual Levant restaurant? Uh, yes please. Booreg beef with garlic sauce and biryani, delivered to accompany my latest Netflix binge. The menu isn't as extensive as other Middle Eastern restaurants but that's probably what makes whomever Eddy is so fast. Booreg (aka bourek... thanks Google!) are basically egg rolls filled with ground beef. The beef was crumbly with a hint of flavor I couldn't quite put my finger on but I liked it. The wrapper was crispy, golden, and flaky. Most importantly, it wasn't too greasy. I chose garlic sauce. To my heart's content, it was toum! I wish I'd ordered extra because it was garlicky whipped goodness. Bonus points for it being packed to the brim of the little plastic ramekin; no skimping over here! The biryani, on the other hand, was okay. It's not Indian or Pakistani biryani, but a version made with regular white rice, tiny diced potatoes, peas, and carrots. I found it to be a touch too salty to my liking. So much so, it kinda overpowered any other flavor or spices. While I'll probably order the booreg again, I'll likely pass on their biryani and opt for a different side or salad. read more

First "real meal" after having a wisdom tooth removed and it did not disappoint. Reza was an awesome server and the food was so flavorful. I really hate to give this place a 3 star review, but it's not based on anything about quality of food or service. The owner served us on a slow day. He was sooo nice and recommended several things to us since it was our first time at this place. All the food was hot and fresh and well prepared, but unfortunately both myself and my wife are not fans of curry. All the food had the same curry flavors inside of it besides the chips and hummus and the side salad which were both delicious. The other two items that were recommended were Booreg Beef egg rolls and the Shawarma. I've had a Shawarma overseas before so I was already familiar with the flavors but again it was heavily laden with a curry flavor, same as the Booreg Beef egg rolls. I just wish the flavors were mentioned in the menu but of course what chef discloses how he spices his food. I'm not a fan, but I'm glad he's got a huge following because the food was hot and fresh and properly prepared. Come here for good service and great food! The space is a little small and reminded me of a diner. Started with the booreg beef eggrolls which were super delicious. It comes with a side of garlic sauce which brings the flavor to a whole new level! Ordered the famous chicken curry next with a side of tabouleh and white rice. The tabouleh was super delicious and very fresh. You can definitely taste the hint of lemon and olive oil. The chicken curry was very delicious. Something that would be perfect on a colder day.
