Rancho Santa Margarita is an affluent city located in Orange County, California. It is a beautiful master planned community set upon rolling hills. It is also a city with one of the lowest crime rates, which is a big plus in my book. I enjoy reading our daily local Patch newsletter and seeing all of the silly police blotter stories, which would be almost laughable at times in comparison to the murders and other high crime happening in many other cities. I'll take a police blotter filled with teenage and neighbor disturbances and citizens needing assistance regarding syrup being spilt over their car or their home's window being hit by a paintball anyday over what other cities are experiencing. The community also has so many wonderful things to offer such as excellent top rated public and private schools. Great schools give many of our schools a 9 or a 10, which was really important to us when choosing a city in California to raise our family and call our home. We also have a gorgeous, well stocked library that offers so many wonderful programs to the local children working with alot of the local businesses and companies such as Walgreens, Target and the Fire Department. Along with reading material, they are also a great resource place for all sorts of information in Orange County. RSM seems to have the most pristine and lushest parks that I have ever set my eyes on. The community is very proud of their local parks and take part in taking good care of their parks, unlike many other parks I have been to in other areas (and States, including Hawaii). I was so pleased to see how well kept the park grounds, facilities, playground equipment and bathrooms are maintained. No rust, filth, graffitti, and homeless, to name a few. There are also a variety of shopping available in the area for the residents, where technically you could get all of your shopping done without leaving RSM. I personally would like to see them put in a local Costco, then I'd say the residents would be all set. Some of the local favorites are: Trader Joe's, Target, Bath and Body Works, Pet Smart, Ulta, Ross and CVS. You can also get all of your weekly service necessities taken care of from your Doctor visits and physical fitness at one of the many Doctors or gyms to having your haircut or being pampered at one of the many salons and/or spas. There are also many different financial institutions to choose from along with dry cleaning or tailoring services, all within walking distance. And of course what city wouldn't be complete without tons of dining options? The residents of RSM have numerous food and dining options available from Thai food to Mexican food to American food to Japanese food to Greek food and Italian, to name a few. Some of our favorites are: Cinnamon Productions Bakery Cafe, Carmelita's, Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill, Subway, Embarcadero California Bistro, and Sake Sushi. We are proud to call this little city our home. If you are living in the area also, you should too.

The first medic who got to my wife was some little weasel with glasses and he just looked at her. Didn't ask any questions. Didn't even acknowledge her. Just seemed really annoyed to be at my house. The other guy that came up at least asked a couple of questions. The captain was nice but he wasn't the one taking care of my wife. I wanted to like ocfa after they took care of me, but they were terrible with my wife. Why are you working for the fire department if 911 calls annoy you? Awful.

We are anticipating four days straight of rainfall this week. So how does this knowledge work into a review for a firehouse? They put out fires and provide rescues, right? Well, there is yet one more service they provide that is lesser known. After living in the same house for 35 years, I am sadly familiar with the uncommonly large river of water that flows into my back yard from my alley when Mother Nature decides to dump on us. The mud and water oozes into my back patio room, the result of a downward slope, ignorance, and bad design. We never fixed it. Thus, the need for sandbagging in the literal sense. My heroes, the guys in the Corona Fire Department, fill sand bags and pile them outside their station for you to pick up. And the best part is, they are free. 10 bags is the limit, and that sure helps. As of this writing, Station #6 is the only station in Corona that provides these sandbags. You may wish to call ahead to confirm they have some ready. This is only for Corona residents. If you live in a different city, contact your local Fire Department to find out if they have this service available. So, thank you guys for all you do. Afterthought: Sure wish I could get pictures of them doing this, ya know, posing with their shirts off, muscles glistening after a hard day's work. These guys came to the rescue and helped remove my daughter-in-law's newly adopted pup, that was trapped under my vehicle's middle seats for over 3 hours. He was so frightened, as was I, but these firemen were able to finally bring him out to safety. I was so thankful to these men, as was our little Wynter & his new mommy. Thank you, Fire Station 6!!! Arrellanos directed the front line to the registration booth and then subsequently to the etching station.
