All the out-of-staters with issues about parking... I have one sentence for them: redo your road test! This RaceTrac is large too, pumps aplenty and friendly staff. Some local guy even held the door open for about 12 peeps, all coming in in the morning. It was a small town, Southern-gentility type shop. Gas was cheap. Coffee was hot. In Georgia, I'm generally a fan of QuikTrip and RaceTrac. The gas stations are big, relatively clean, and have low fuel prices. I stopped by this RaceTrac and picked up a couple Vita Coco drinks ($2.50 each) for the road. I started drinking one of the boxes in the car and noticed it tasted funny and unpleasant. Upon further inspection, I saw the drink had expired months ago. Blech. They need to check the expiration dates on their inventory (and I need to check them before buying).

We did our homework ahead of time and got the chopped beef brisket sandwich, warm nuts (cashews and almonds), fresh chips, banana pudding, peach cobbler, beaver nuggets and gummy bears. The chopped beef brisket was top notch! Even though it's chopped, there were still significant chunks of juicy flavorful pieces of beef. Make sure to get the pickles, onions and extra bbq sauce! The warm nuts were awesome! Crunchy and sweet. The beaver chips are kettle chips. We got a fresh batch but after it sat awhile they were soggy. Banana pudding was legit. Peach cobbler didn't have enough peaches in it. The beaver nuggets are like corn puffs with a caramel coating. Very good! Gummy bears were soft. Yum! We loaded up on T-shirts, hats and socks before we had to regulate ourselves and put away the adult onesie. Buc-ee's has everything you could possibly want and need and then some. We got outta there and dropped over $200 (a Costco run for us)! The only thing that could make it better is if they had seating to enjoy all the food!

Fill up before you go up because the price for fuel is far higher in Highlands-Cashiers area. Because of the winding roads it's a long slow drive. A white knuckle drive for some. Next door to the station is a great place for RV's to park for just a few nights, a week or even the entire summer. Situated beside the Cullasajsa River, very professional and incredibly friendly with a nice sense of community within and surrounded by a peaceful community. Highly recommended for a breakfast or lunch meal at the Sweetwater Cafe. It's located next to the station. Stop by and see for yourself and bring your friends and family.
