I was visiting Santa Fe for the long weekend on my trip to the city from Denver, CO. I experienced engine lights on my VW CC dash. After a trip to my trusted Pep Boys who does a lot of my auto work in Denver. I was told by the shop manager after an engine diagnosis was done that he did not trust his team to work on my car. He recommended I should take it to a WV dealer or a local VW repair person, adding that many are closed on the weekends. I found Foreign Auto Service online. I called Jim and expressed what I knew, that the check engine light was on and the EPC light also came on. He was eager to help as I explained my position of just visiting for the weekend. I drove the car to him from Pep boys. Within an hour Jim called me back, explained that it was a dead cylinder #4 and that spark was missing causing the code to trigger the lights. Jim offered to me the price of parts and labor on the phone. I agreed to all terms and was thankful to have an easy fix to allow me to get back to enjoying my vacation. My wife had been driving our 2016 Honda CRV for 5 weeks during her annual solo Southwest adventure. When she picked me up at the Santa Fe airport and I sat in the passenger seat I noticed that the seat warmer was on, and, unfortunately, the rocker switch was stuck and I couldn't turn it off! Not looking forward to being in the "hot seat" for the next two weeks, I searched for a nearby auto mechanic, found Fast Foreign online, and decided to just drive over there based on the positive reviews. My instinct was totally rewarded when I drove in, found a mechanic testing a vehicle with a laptop and shared my story. Jim immediately stopped what he was doing, said, "Let's see what we can do," and pressed the switch back into the neutral position with the pressure and touch only an expert could engage. And of course Jim didn't ask for any payment, and both of us were grateful - maybe me even more than Jim - for his 30 second fix. We were traveling from Houston Texas in our Range Rover Sport and the check engine light came on. We googled this place and took a chance, knowing that the dealership will take two weeks and thousands of dollars to consider looking into the problem. We were headed home the next day. The team here at FAST cleared a bay out and said they would have a look! An hour later Jim came back in the Lobby and said that I would have no problem getting home and that the issue appeared to be a simple glitch, mostly due to altitude and cold weather impacts on Diesel's. Then gave me a recommendation if it DID trigger again but he doubted it would be an issue. $133 bucks for an hour of shop time and tax etc and we were on our way to complete our Holiday Vacation. We were on a cross-country trip when our car refused to start in Las Vegas, NM. We were towed to Santa Fe. Enroute to Santa Fe I called the Subaru dealer to see if I could get an emergency service repair. They told me the first opening was seven days away (I booked the date in case I couldn't find a repair shop, and when I called back to cancel they told me they didn't have me on the schedule!!) I first called FAST based on numerous recommendations. Jim was so accommodating and willing to place our repair up front so that we could continue on our journey. The work was done quickly and with exceeding standards. I am so pleased with this shop and their willingness to help an outsider get back on the road. If possible, I would give this repair shop WAY over 5 stars. Our Mercedes broke down late Friday afternoon in the middle of a deserted stretch of highway. No garage within 80 miles would agree to even examine our car until mid-week. After calling Jim, he not only agreed to look at it on a Saturday morning but waited for us to arrive by tow truck after 6:30 pm and ordered a part that night by FedEx. He worked all Saturday pulling out shredded belt pieces from every conceivable place in our engine and made sure we could safely be on our way to Phoenix that afternoon. We were blown away by the kindness shown to us by Jim and his wife, as well as the extremely reasonable price he charged. If I lived anywhere within 50 miles of this shop, this would be the only place I would take my car! read more

My 1999 Subaru Forrester limped into town on a Friday night in obvious distress-I was far from home and had a long way to go, and did not feel optimistic about finding a capable and ethical mechanic on a Saturday. I then had the greatest luck a beleaguered traveler can have: I met the perfect mechanic and business. Jim, the owner and Michelle his wife are the best I have ever met. This morning I woke to my truck not starting and after several phone calls of learning other shops were either closed or too busy for me, FAST was the only responsive and available shop. In the process of moving from northern CO to southern AZ on a tight schedule, my 2005 BMW began making horribly loud noises on the highway. On Thursday, my trusty (old) Toyota pickup died on 285 a few miles north of Santa Fe on my trip from DEN to ABQ. Alternator crapped out. Searched online and found Jim's FAST. Glad I did. He arraigned for a tow from a great guy and went to work on it as soon as we showed up. One day later the old Toyota was patched up and now I can resume my return trip on Sunday. ABQ resident. Looked everywhere for a mechanic to work on my RV (VW Rialta). So grateful to find FAST. Changed tranny filter & fluid. Checked integrity of internal ribbon cables and did an outstanding job to troubleshoot "limp mode" transmission issue. Took great care to help source a quality used part (extremely hard to find w/o paying exorbitant prices).
