(NOTE: This is 3 reviews, so read to the end -- all GOOD!) Went in for an inspection to make sure my car was solid for a trip. They checked it all out and declared it good. Teo discussed things to watch for on my particular model. I pulled out my credit card & he didn't charge me!? Very nice & patient staff. I'll DEFINITELY be back if/ when we have an issue on EITHER car. I feel I can trust them. AND 7/2025, they did a pre-purchase inspection. Very thorough. Another GREAT experience here! AND 10/2025, third time is the charm... THIS is my GO-TO mechanic from now on with this 3rd GREAT experience. I'd been taking my car for oil changes to a place near my work, downtown. Recently they did some brake work and gave me a list of things to fix &/or watch. There was one item, in particular, a leak in front axle, that needed repair (replacement). I decided to shop around. I called 2 other shops that I've used and are in town. This shop not only beat the price of the other 2 by over $100, they TRIPLED the warranty on the work! I've never been surprised by a bill. They tell me up front how much it will be and if they find something extra during the work, they call and discuss with me before they do anything. He looked over the list of "issues" and said none were bad enough to fix right now and we'd watch them. When I take it in for oil changes, they'll monitor them. And, on top of that, I've never seen SUCH NICE STAFF at a garage. Everyone I've worked with was smiling and friendly and EASY to work with. Working with them going forward is a no-brainer. This is the best shop, I have found in NM ! They were clearly honest and accommodating since there was some delay in the work, Sean the owner picked me up at the motel when the car was done. Everything is working better than ever and Eric, (a Subaru Master mechanic) treated his work with perfection and precision as if he was taking care of his own car. Very clearly did little thoughtful improvements. It is rare to get the mechanic face to face explaining what he found and what needed to be done now and later. And thank you again for the shocks on the lift gate not having to worry about it hitting me when open and just another thing,I do not have to deal with it. See you soon for more and the oil change. Just stopping by to say that I brought my car to these guys yesterday (after calling 15 minutes prior) and they could not have been any more helpful and knowledgeable. I had just had a horrible experience at another auto repair shop - and had basically been given the impression that my car was on its last legs. Thankfully, these guys put my concerns to rest. They not only took the time to explain what was going on with my car, they showed me, literally inviting me to see my car when it was on the lift so that they could educate me and point out what they were talking about. I was very impressed with the service and professionalism at this shop. I rarely write reviews for businesses, but I felt this was a deserving experience as many times having your car/truck worked on can be a completely miserable experience. I needed a front disc brake replacement on my truck, drum brake check, and U-joint check (I had been told at an oil change at another business that they were leaking and probably needed replacement). First and foremost, they answered the phone when I called--which apparently is difficult for many auto maintenance shops in the area. The conversation I had with the person from the shop was pleasant and very professional. I was given accurate information and quotes for cost and the time it would take for repair. Nobody needed to "call me back" with a quote--I called more than one other shop in the area for this job and never received the promised callback or quote. Second, scheduling an appointment time and date that worked for me was streamlined and simple. I did this while on the phone, but they do have an online scheduling option as well! I didn't have an emergent situation, so I booked ahead for first thing in the morning at 7am and the work was completed in the time frame we were given on the phone. Thirdly, I had ceramic brake pads installed along with new rotors. There has thus far been no squealing or noise when braking which is shocking. Great work! Lastly, and most important, I feel they were honest and did not upsell me. I was told the drum brakes were still good (despite my disc brakes being basically worn out). I also mentioned the concern about the U-joints, and I was told ultimately the seals needed to be re-greased, but there was no sign of wear to justify replacement. This could have easily been something I could have been told to replace, but they were honest and did not try to push that at all. Overall, highly impressed with the service and I plan to utilize this shop again should I need further maintenance work done. Would recommend to friends and family. I'm so excited! Since the Lexus dealership was sold in Santa Fe I've been trying to find a GOOD Lexus mechanic. I've now found a great auto shop, and they service everything , not just Lexus, and these guys are GOOD. VERY GOOD. Cutting Edge Automotive right here in Santa Fe. Just walking in you can tell these folks are worth a try. I've entered many filthy auto shops but these guys keep a tight ship. I figure if they care enough to keep a clean shop then they aren't just in it for the money, they care about their surroundings and they care about your vehicle. First thing they do is inspect your car. Stem to stern. No charge. After that they told me (and gave me a printout) what was good, what was not so good but not a real problem, and told me what really should be done to keep the car safe and in good running condition. They were correct on all counts. In my younger years I built hot rods and I have a pretty good knowledge of when someone is just trying to make a buck off of me. I know my car well and I take good care of it, and I agreed with everything they told me. I had one thing they said was really in need and they were 100 percent correct about it, and I knew it before I took the car to them. They then fixed the problem, did a general servicing, which I requested, and took care of some little things, like filling my spare tire that was a bit low, no charge. And getting to the spare on this SUV is a job in itself. Trust me, try them out and you'll not even consider going elsewhere. They were efficient, they found only one thing I was not already aware of, and it was something they said was not a real problem. Yet. But no rush. And even that made sense, I had just not even thought about it. They even offered to take me home and pick me up. They are probably not the cheapest, but much less than a dealer, in my experience. But it's your car, not a good place to cheap out either. Quality has great value. read more

There was a time when my mechanic left Santa Fe and I had to seek a replacement. It was not an easy task. Then one day a new shop opened up named Cutting Edge Automotive. So I went by and looked them over. I found a nice office space with a comfy waiting area, and most importantly I found clean work spaces with well maintained and clean tools. The folks in the office were nice, friendly and respectable. So I tried them out. This has been some years ago and I'm old, I really don't remember other than they had not been open long when I found them. So I took my RX to Cutting Edge where they did a thorough inspection of my vehicle, showed me the condition of my vehicle. I take very good care of my cars and they came up with exactly what I already knew about mine. So I had my first appointment with Cutting Edge and I was thrilled by the results. They treat their customers with respect and the same for the customer's vehicles. To make an already long story a bit shorter, no one has touched either of my Lexus vehicles since that first encounter, and no one is going to get the chance to as long as Cutting Edge continues to treat me and my cars with respect and the quality of work remains fantastic. great shop. worst shop manger or any manager I have ever met. he was actively mad that I brought my truck back because it was shaking while driving. (the shaking turned out to be bent wheels) I wanted them to look at it again since they did break work the week prior. I will never be back after being chewed out by the manager for questioning their work. I was taken aback by how rude and unprofessional he was. he wanted an apology from a paying customer. I'm pretty sure mechanics are where you take cars that are not running right? Especially if they were the last ones to work on it. he kept going on about "how they have a reputation" the only reputation I saw was an unhinged management system. the worst part is the owner just sat there after asking me to apologize (and after paying 1700 for work). I even had to say "if you don't want me to come back then just say it" worst I have been treated by an employee in any industry. He just wanted to sit there and berade me for slander (I didn't try To paint hem in a bad light at all. I was respectful and kind, and I told no one about This) I was treated like I was trash talking their name all over Town. Again my issue was with the way I was treated by the shop manager. not with the quality of work. read more

We were on a road trip to the Grand Canyon and out AT Oil Temp light keep coming on. Our mechanic said to get it checked ASAP. We stopped here. This was one of the best auto shop experiences we have had! They checked the car out, said we were not at risk to harm the transmission and would be safe for the remainder of our journey as long as we took it easy on the up hill sections. They were SO informative on the best ways to keep our transmission in good condition since we live at a high altitude. Didn't charge us a penny for the check and all that super helpful information. I've been fortunate to use these gentlemen since they first moved to Santa Fe years ago. I had 2 MBs back then..an ML500 and a C55 AMG. They were incredible!!!! I would have to use a Thesaurus to come up with enough words of praise. Honest, professional, masters of their craft,...I've referred them to friends since then. And over the years I've continued my relationship with them, even when I've been through tough times and no longer had my Benz. They treat me with courtesy to this day. Great folks. The car started up after being parked over the weekend, and after diagnostics and testing, Cutting Edge did not try to sell any unnecessary or speculative repairs. The check engine light on my Mercedes ML 350 needed diagnosing and Cutting Edge was able to get me in the next day and could not have been more professional and courteous ensuring that I understood fully what the error code was and also doing a thorough review of the truck and finding that the brake fluid also needed to be replaced.
